IDEA - Always on top, hotkey activated StopWatch

A task tray or tiny "always on top" window that listens for hotkeys to start and stop a timer.

I could probably add this to my DClock's stopwatch.

It already sits on top and can min to tray.

The StopWatch can be accessed from DClock's menu or you can run StopWatch.exe.

The hot-key is Ctrl-Shift-F9.  It will either start it or pause/resume it. You will have to stop and reset from the buttons on the StopWatch window. I can only assign one global hotkey to a window so I felt it was best to pause instead of stop.

You reset by clicking the stop and then the start button again.

Is it possible to change/add to this, so that each time you run the timer and stop it, it adds to a daily total, that could be somehow reset at the end of each day?

Ctrl-Shift-F9 looks a bit cumbersome for easy start/stop, specially when you're measuring software time, IE, you click on a button, and then by the time you do Ctrl-Shift-F9... you lose one valuable half-second. A single key hotkey would be MUCH better.

Maybe you can add a button "select hotkey" and then make the user press whatever key he wants to assign as hotkey?

For instance, for my needs pressing "`" (next to 1 and above Tab on US-En layout) would be the best hotkey...

Using XP.  I like this, but when I use StartKey/D shortcut combo to get to the desktop in a hurry, the Stopwatch is closed.  Has this been brought up before?  Any update?

I have XP, and I just tried what you said. It doesn't close. Check your tray. It's still there and still running. Just right click and select Show Window.

The key combo you are using affects all windows and not just the stop watch. It acts the same way as minimizing everything would, which is why the stopwatch gets sent to the tray.
