Super FDisk (iso)
« on: September 09, 2008, 12:08 PM »
Remember Fdisk?

Here's it's replacement and it works like a champ!

http://downloads.zdn...5026&tag=nl.e550

I burned the iso to CD and tried it on XPPro. It booted up without a problem and provides everything you'd want to know about your drives.

I stuck the CD in an old machine with Win2K. Again it booted up fine and even displays the parameters for the hidden partition containing the BIOS/CMOS/whatever?

Well worth the dime for the CD and beats messing with Fdisk!

Hmm... interesting find, Cuffy. Thanks for directing this our (my!) way. I'm downloading it now.

Has anyone had a chance to test this software yet?
I'm curious about whether an external USB hdd shows up along with the other drives?
I don't have an external USB enclosure to use for testing.
We have a situation in another forum where a lady inadvertently compressed some files while trying to format an external hdd. Now it won't format, the files are locked and won't delete, and the only solution I can think of is to blow away all the partitions on the drive and reformat.
Any ideas?
TIA
