Is this funny

I was talking to someone on Windows Live Messenger and made the following joke. She didn't think it funny, so I said I'll post it on a tech forum and see what they say,
so whats the verdict:

After another dropped message I said:
I want Bill Gate's head, on a silver platter.....
.....with an Apple in his mouth.


Should she dump me for bad humour?

FWIW, I thought the joke was amusing. Not outright funny, perhaps, but amusing...

I can understand your attempt a making a joke. More droll than funny perhaps, but no harm in that.



I'm just not sure I can understand her reaction to it.

I dunno, my Lady seems to like DC.

Her assessment was: "Pretty cool. The people there seem to be nice."

But then again, maybe she's atypical. She works for the government, so she has the ability to wade through buzzword blizzards, jargon infested paperwork jungles, and the occasional acronymic thicket without suffering injury or illness. And the ability to deal with utter nonsense is part of her job description.

Maybe we should start a new thread to find out what our significant others think about this "thing" we do?

On second thought, cancel that. Silly suggestion. What was I thinking?

it isn't dangerous at all, we are just friends, at the moment anyway, haven't know each other long.

But maybe it is interesting subject for all us young singles: can a relationship survive where one person is geeky, and the other can't understand why you use the Start button to turn a computer off....?

BTW, I think I'll tell her she was right: it wasn't funny. Sort of win-when you-lose scenario.
