False Positives?
« on: August 02, 2008, 04:57 PM »
Today, I downloaded a-squared Anti-Malware 3.5 through giveawayoftheday.com. Strangely, it detected AutoClip and NoStrayClicks as Trojan-Spy.Win32.Agent.brh. During the scan, Avira AntiVir detected GoneIn60s as TR/Agent.206999.P Trojan.

Maybe we should contact a-squared and/or Avira...

EDIT: a-squared Anti-Malware 3.5 also detects OSD Mute as Backdoor.Win32.Shark.ks...

yes, it's a sad state of events where security apps have descended into fear mongering. i wrote OSD Mute and even compiled the program without any UPX compression to avoid false alarms. please test the programs at an online AV website such as virusscan.jotti.org (which includes A-Squared among its scanner) and post the results here.

in fact, another of my program CopyCap was deleted by AVG (on my own PC) recently before i could post it at the forums.
