Blu ray vs HD DVD
« on: December 22, 2007, 08:13 AM »
OK Folks, once I move I plan to make the switch to the HD Formats to coincide with my 1080P TV. I was wondering, which of these formats has an advantage over the other? From what I see on the web, its mainly opinion and no side-by-side comparison of the features and technologies. Does anyone know if HD-DVD supports 1080P? Does bluray offer something over HDDVD and vice-versa? Does anyone here own one of these players?

Any input is appreciated.

Comparing the two formats feature-wise is pointless, you should go for the format that ends up winning the war (whether it means the other format heads for extinction or just that one format has more titles).

Yeah, one format has higher disc capacity, but whatever :)

Exactly, buying a format at this point is playing with fire. Unless you buy a PlayStation 3, if Blu Ray fails, at least you get a good gaming machine :)

Why not but a dual player that does both?

# LG Electronics Dual Format DVD Player

This DVD player settles the war between Blu-Ray and HD DVD by supporting both!
It’s $1200 bucks but could be worth it…
