Firefox was not able to get any of the files from iopage > brothersoft
when I finally got a file, using another browser, the average download speed was 10 kbps

From a post today from wilderssecurity forums regarding KSO,

"We are currently giving away 300 full working serial numbers for KSO07 for those of you who simply cannot wait.  These will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Please contact David at [email protected] to obtain yours whilst they last."

I have no idea whether or not all 300 licenses have been given out yet.  I just requested one just in case they are still available.

Update: downloaded it. Opens very quickly and is light on it's feet in use. Is there anybody out there that fancies themselves a real Pro on MS Office that could put this Panda through its paces?

in August (no date mentioned) they were poised to launch a new version - KSO 2009 which will support .docx extension as well. in the meantime KSO 2007 will be repackaged as a totally free version.

Curt mentioned they were offering 300 free full unlock keys for the 2007 version on a first-come first-served basis. I asked for one last Thursday and got it. Might be worth a try.

- I am very surprised. Of course I asked for a license myself, when I posted the initial info about the giveaway, but I never received any answer! Well, it is not as if I would be missing a office product, I have plenty, but, you know: it was  free...

Heh, heh - Curt, we can add "free-itis" to the list of complexes shared by many DC'ers! Another that is mentioned here often is "upgrade-itis". This one is particularly bad (for me at least). Why, if I had a dollar for every app that I've upgraded despite there being nothing wrong with the current version... Hang on, I'd STILL be going broke

It really seems that Office 2007 has left the Kingsoft site, though I find it very "funny" (strange) that they haven't updated their site to reflect the situation. But WPS 2007 (aka Kingsoft Office 2007) is yet to be found at several other sites, like C|NET, ZDNET, and others, and this one: http://kingsoft-offi...oftonic.com/download

I'll bet that in a relatively short period of time I will have upgraded to version 2009
