It might be useful to point out that PowerDesk 6 Standard version is available for free, unlimited use:

http://www.v-com.com/product/PowerDesk_Free_Trial.html

dunno is this still valid - I used it sometime in 2007

I use Filehamster for my project asset management needs, but you can definetely use it for your downloads. It brings a pop up for entering text. It has a report plugin as well.

presumably that means you make a backup of the downloads as well ?

ToDoList2 is massively powerful. Slightly brutal appearance, but very efficient to use and you can choose how much or how little to have on screen. A really great program. Really responsive developer. And free.

would you have a link for that - couldnt find homepage myself - or do you mean the ToDoList kartal links to?

import seems to be *.csv or iCalender / vCalender files

CFDButton is nice, but it's lacking several features.

ChalkTrauma did say that he'd be willing to add suggestions, maybe you should enumerate them?

Maybe it might even fill this gap:
or inspire someone (here?) to programme something (even) better ?
-Perry Mowbray (March 14, 2008, 08:25 PM)

CWuestefeld's post inspired me to try FlashFolder
Been using FileboxExtender for a long time and not unhappy with it either
but
will try CDFButton next :)

beautiful site and book, illustrations, everything :-*

Maybe we should launch a major offensive and start an e-mail campaign to pressure Stardock to release this as a standalone application.

or inspire someone (here?) to programme something (even) better ?
It's just one click less the most of the others BUT I WANT it :-*
but now @ $49.95 ? - indecent :D

according to link in cmpm's post it's using Amazon S3 so presumably you will eventually have to pay them and pay DropBox too... (or pay a fee that covers both)

If you're interested in spending $40, you could try Stardock's Enhanced File Dialog.

I'd love something like that - but would pay maybe $20 only ( :P )
- quoting you from another thread -

Ummm..., er...., ah... Enhanced File Dialog "Enhance(s) your common file dialogs with additional features
...
What I like best about it is that it resizes my dialogs and makes the places bar much more useful - something that none of the other dialog extenders that I have tried do. It gives you the same flexibility that the Office 2003 (and XP?) places bar provides and enables it in all dialog boxes
...
Here's a screenshot of my Notepad "save as" dialog:

there's something about having the list on the left in view there, I'd definitely pay $20 - $40 is too much still ...

I think the concept is quite interesting.   Due to time constraints the only role I would be able to take is participant.

+1 = moving home in the next few weeks, but like the idea a lot

the website for Search GT
http://www.search-gt.com/
says - "Completely integrated into Windows Explorer"

can anyone say what that means... context menu or ..??
9771
this is kindof off the main topic of the thread but I've been using XYplorer as my "searcher" for files etc
also incredibly fast (doesnt index - does search content if you want but I've never done that)

General Software Discussion / Re: SQLNotes...what is it exactly?
« Last post by tomos on March 11, 2008, 06:27 AM »
SQLNotes web site www.sqlnotes.net appears down. Please post here until I can get it fixed...

forum is back up now

I imagine the merging databases feature dialog is going to be sophisticated with several options (at least I hope so).

there's so many possibilities in terms of settings/fields/columns I think it will have to be very sophisticated - or maybe it could simply favour the settings of one database over the other... :-\

« Last post by tomos on March 09, 2008, 01:21 PM »
My dearest friend comes twice a week to use my unstable PC to check her hotmail and facebook accounts, giving both of us a challenge. Mine is to stay a gentleman, and hers is to let go of the mouse and wait for the chosen feature to respond and for the page to load. Only, she can never wait that long. Over and over she will start click

hah,
ironically* I'm still a bit like that (well I've only been using computers since 1999 :P) -
I'll bet she's an Aries ;D no patience - nope none of that

* especially if you've just read the previous post

I mean.. They allowed developers to have single-click OR double-click on tray icons, how stupid is that?
agreed :)
I think there's absolutely no logic to having to double click a tray icon - well...
maybe for those beginners :-\  *
It's one of the few things in this world where I use the word ~hate~

For the desktop I guess the logic is you can select it if you want to edit the name
but trying to double click a tiny icon in the tray just does my head in

deep breath, okay, I'm better now...

* but if a single click works so should a double click ?? or I suppose sometimes that could open a second window of programme. Ah well..
