Thanks! Pretty slim pickings according to that site. In fact, CoinJar isn't listed as one of the sites that use U2F. And BitBucket is listed on that site but when I checked my login options I only found TOTP.

Yeah, sorry, I have a Yubikey 4 Nano, it can do OTP as well as U2F.

It doesn't list all sites, the other site I use mine for mainly isn't there either.

I originally bought the Yubikey FIDO, (because it was cheaper but it only does U2F), but realised the Yubikey 4 series would be a much better choice so I got one when Amazon had a 50% off Prime Day.

If anyone wants to try it and you don't have a RasPi you can download a DietPi VM and run it in Virtualbox, for example.

You can then just redirect your DNS queries and admin interface to the VM.  Took less than 10 minutes from downloading DietPi to getting it running.

You won't have any problem if you're not running %TEMP% on a RAM drive.  I haven't installed it because I'd have to move %TEMP% back to C: for any program update that came along, I'd rather wait until they fix the problem.

In all the years I've run %TEMP% on a RAM drive, this is the only program that's had a problem with it.

No coin is a tiny browser extension aiming to block coin miners such as Coinhive.

I was looking at just doing a small GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey script just to block them all, this is a bit better in that you can whitelist if you want.

ie. Is this still a symptom of the infection or have the programmers screwed up?

It becomes more interesting when the 32bit version isn't asking for internet access.

Wouldn't it be better to discover why it's necessary to restart the service?

ie.
Is the program playing the files causing the service to screw up?
Try another program.

Is it a hardware or driver fault?
Check the Eventlog.

When the service screws up is it because it has stopped or it is running but still needs a restart?

Really need more info, it's easy to do a small PowerShell script to restart the service if its stopped but where it's still shown as running is probably going to be a little trickier since how would you know if it's being used or not?

EDIT: Can also restart the audio service using a command file, eg.

[Select]

sc stop Audiosrv
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 10 >NUL
sc start Audiosrv

No checks, waits 10 seconds after stopping (ping command 10 times), then starts it.
Could add check for status with sc query Audiosrv but I think it'd be better to find out why it's necessary in the first place.

From what I've read, probably yes. This was a sophisticated supply chain hack (of Piriform and Avast servers) that repackaged the update with a valid digital signature. So unless the slim was a no install 'portable' version...it could have also easily been exploited.

Interesting to note that the Slim build has reappeared on their downloads page ... it wasn't there two days ago when I downloaded the last version.

Also interestingly, ccleaner64.exe (v5.35) now wants access to the internet despite having the update check disabled, (and anything else that has to do with network access).

This didn't happen in previous versions and doesn't necessarily inspire confidence.

Access to pics and multimedia is nesessary for that reason, that game can load the obb file. It is installed into external storage (memory) on some devices.
