I'd like to do more, but my ankles and knees don't like it much... but I think I need to work at it more before i hit 60 later this year.-x16wda (April 26, 2015, 09:02 AM)
On the subject of automotive oddities, though, are the old 6V positive ground electrical systems.-Vurbal (April 24, 2015, 07:52 AM)
Non-clumping kitty-litter will help absorb these fluid puddles and it's cheaper that oil-dry.-crabby3 (April 23, 2015, 05:34 PM)
I've been doing that one for years (sand works ok in a pinch too).

Be aware that having a (1) directory with ~80,000 files in it will bring Explorer, and other tools looking at that file-list, to a crawl-Ath (April 23, 2015, 01:59 AM)
more alarming than silly

Aha, this is about altering the control computer's software, not actual car repair. You almost had me there...-Edvard (April 23, 2015, 01:20 AM)
Well, the man did say "... copying the software is at issue after all, not wholly replacing it, ...".-Edvard (April 23, 2015, 01:20 AM)
Then you can get away with it.. usually.-MilesAhead (April 23, 2015, 05:43 AM)

Terrorists also use water, air, and brains. I propose we outlaw them all!

I don't care if the traffic to Google ads are encrypted. I want all traffic to/from Google ads blocked, encrypted or not.-Deozaan (April 22, 2015, 01:08 AM)
The changes are designed to ensure that users are safe from ad-borne security threats when watching videos, opening mobile apps or running any applications, the two Google executives blogged. Moving ads to HTTPS ensures that users will automatically have an encrypted connection with the ad servers, just like they have an encrypted connection when using Google Search and Gmail and YouTube.-The Article
Server side caching on a server that doesn't even seem to have a control panel? You probably need to use phpinfo uploaded via FTP to get some php and other version info. Something like wwww.domain.com/cpanel or serverip:8443 doesn't exist?-rgdot (April 11, 2015, 12:06 PM)
I use Acrobat 9 Pro, and it's very fast. Small files open instantly, and opening larger ones only takes a few seconds. (3 seconds with a 150 MB file I just checked.) However, it's rather expensive. It does include all the bells & whistles, but most are rarely needed, similar to how few of MS Office features are ever needed.
Just throwing that out there as nobody had mentioned it, and it is very fast.-Renegade (April 10, 2015, 03:32 AM)
it's worth noting that VirtualBox will not work if you have a modified version of uxtheme.dll (which has to be modified if you want to use non-windows themes for the OS).Damn, that's arrogant!

That was my first thought, also- though I'd assume it would be possible to fork it and remove that check.-wraith808 (April 08, 2015, 10:27 AM)
Posting from within SpartanDoes it do that for every tab? One of the things previous versions of IE was smart about, was doing tab/process grouping - so, unlike insane-o chrome, you don't end up with a zillion processes not executables. The separation of "UI" and "Worker" processes seems like a sound thing to do, but each site in its own processes is... ugh (sure, there's some security implications, but mostly it smells like a "uh, threading and async is hard" thing to me).Yes, I'm showing 4 listed in TM just to get here - New tab == new .exe instance.Posting this from the new Project Spartan browser in Windows 10 b10049 ... It's definitely fast. Really, really fast.Does it use multiple executables?-Stoic Joker (April 02, 2015, 02:10 PM)-MilesAhead (April 02, 2015, 02:49 PM)-Stoic Joker (April 03, 2015, 06:49 AM)-f0dder (April 03, 2015, 09:37 AM)
- I just saw an article that says a search bar (may?) be hard-coded to sit there starting at you in Win10, and it's part integrated with Bing.-TaoPhoenix (April 08, 2015, 01:03 AM)
