General Software Discussion / Re: Opera - An exercise on frustration
« Last post by jgpaiva on November 17, 2008, 07:38 PM »
I also agree, this new "feature" is unusable, and it's incredible how firefox was able to get into it later and yet implement something that is a few orders of magnitude better than opera's implementation.

Actually, I'm the one who's wrong, sorry. I didn't notice that circle dock was present on your post, I assumed you just got confused with names.
Sorry ;)

Actually, I think you're confused, shaunM.
Rocket Docket is made by the guys over at RocketDock.com ;)
Eric is the author of CircleDock.

General Software Discussion / Re: Redirect screen output to clipboard
« Last post by jgpaiva on November 13, 2008, 07:49 AM »
There's an utility that is used for AutoHotkey that puts what it reads to the clipboard. So, if you redirect the output to it, you should be good to go ;)
Get it here.

About the first idea: I think it's better if you solve it by merging 2 grids together, because the change in grids takes some time, and changing it everytime you switch programs would really make GridMove slower (and more resource-intensive, it'd be using processor everytime you switch applications).

About the second thing.. Look at Edge Grid. It's really similar to 4-part grid, but has 2 parts along the top and left parts of the screen that maximise windows vertically and horizontally ;)

No, you're not on the wrong place, don't worry ;)

Thanks a lot for the compliment, it's great to get so much positive feedback from the users of GridMove! :D

:)
We've had some trouble with referral links in the past, so I went into "watch out mode" when I read your post.
But I think it's well intentioned (even though you should donate to them if you like their game! :P) and it's no different from those werewolves games.

So.. I clicked your link :P

Unfortunatelly, gridmove doesn't work with steam, even with "safe mode" off. So, at this time there is no solution for that problem, since steam uses a special kind of window that isn't controllable by the language I use to build GridMove.

Strange.. After reading your code, I have no idea why it isn't working :(

I'm not sure about this, but aren't you trying to reinvent skrommel's MinimOther? :)

Darwin: Eduroamw ;)
It's an authentication infrastructure which allows an university student to use his longin on any of other universities across europe.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is the reason why a girlfriend of mine is having problems connecting to the college Wi-Fi...
Is that through eduroam? I'm having some trouble with my univ's wireless too..

Stoic Joker: I don't think calling someone "stupid" only because they had problems with Vista is correct.
Personally, I really really like Vista, but I've seen people have troubles I can't fix, and personally, I only like it because I disabled UAC, if I hadn't, I'd gone crazy already.

Let's try to keep it polite, ok? ;)

Anyway, I voted "No", because I don't think it'd be fair for MS. I consider Vista a solid peice of software, and MS deserves to get paid for their job. Now, if 7 isn't a major improvement over Vista (like vista was over XP), then I'd agree with the question ;)

Sorry, ahk means "autohotkey" (see here), it's the language GridMove is built with.

Here's a similar request. I'm also pretty sure there's other threads similar (something about "cheat sheets", I think).
So.. No, you're not th eonly one looking for such thing :)

Oh man, now that's cool. I seriously wasn't expecting you guys to do that, since it was my own job. Thanks a lot! :D

I guess so, lanux.. And the help file really isn't very helpful.
I have an update to the help file in my todo list since forever... But time really hasn't been on my side :(
873
Unfortunatelly, I have repeatedly tried to fix this problem, and haven't had any success.
I know it's related to ahk, because the code to send the "middle mouse button" is executed, but doesn't appear to do anything :(

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: Grid Move version?
« Last post by jgpaiva on November 05, 2008, 10:23 AM »
:)
Actually, it's somewhat of a "bonus".
The version that is uploaded is more recent than the version mentioned at the site because it has some minor changes over the version on the site, and I didn't want to make people go "oh, a new update" and then have a program that is exactly like the last one.

Basically, if you've got a version number larger than the one at the site.. Don't worry, you're up to date ;)
875
:) thanks a lot, gdot!!
