I'll attach the download here so you can try it, it's rather old (2009, that's not a typo), but it's the latest available. Please run some AV across it before actually trying it, just to be sure.
Thanks Ath. Now I am sure I can download.
If not tomorrow I will surf from another station ....

Note : Is downloaded  ;D

Note after installation : I am lost !

In the installation directory only a doc and a dll !.
How can I use it ?
I am more used to the icon in the desktop to launch the program.  :-[

It's an extension of your taskbar.  Right click your taskbar and select toolbars, then there should be an entry- not sure if it will say truelaunchbar or not.  Show that bar, then right click on it to get to the options.  For more than that, go to the TLB site.

Living Room / Re: Google Home Mini - Is yours as useless as mine?

So how do we get the thing to realize that there are no content filters enabled, and just play music when people ask it to?

When you say that you disabled them in Google Home- are they getting enabled there?  Or each time, you're enabling and disabling them?

Perhaps it's defective?  I have a lot of them and haven't ever had this problem.  Then again, I use Google Play Music.  I know that Google Play Music (Youtube Music now?) has a trial plan- you might try to just experiment with that, and see if it's that Google is having problems with Spotify?

Disk space?
Hard drives are cheap these days.  Storage is plentiful.  Aside from the 1TB SSD I'm running the OS on, I've got 11TB online.  If you want to keep the primary storage device running lean, you could add a setting for locating your Recycle Bin (which I assume is different than the Windows Recycle Bin?) somewhere else, like on another drive.

Scanning the CH+S data folders, I note that it's keeping a copy of all copied images in the Files\[year] folders, so there's a lot of space in use that I had never realized before.  Just an observation; I don't care that it's doing that.  It could be a space consideration for some, though.

For some that wouldn't be a consideration- but some use it in environments where space is at a premium.  I think that (like the other suggestion of making this the default) it should be an option.  I know that I use it on machines where I can't use that much space for various reasons.

I use Bins - http://www.1upindustries.com/Bins/

I used to use Bins, but I stopped for some reason that I can't remember right now.  There was some advantage of TLB- I think because of widgets that TLB provides.

The advantage of TrueLaunchBar (shareware) is that the menu pops out on mouse-hover, where the Windows toolbars need a mouse-click to open.

There are other advantages to TrueLaunchBar other than that, but yes, you could just use the windows feature.  If free is what you're looking for, they offer an older version of TrueLaunchBar as FreeLaunchBar for (predictably) Free!  http://forum.tordex.com/thread-3321.html

You're the overachiever of listers Deo!  ;D

I really liked reading it!  I was going to do my top 10 video games, but I wasn't sure I've played 10 this year- even for having bought many more than that.  Looking at my list, I see that I do have over 10- so here's my top 10.

1. The Elder Scrolls Online
- I have spent way too much time in this game.

2. Marvel Contest of Champions
- Mobile game that I have spent way too much time and money on

3. Marvel Puzzle Quest
- Mobile Game that I played before MCOC.  My playtime has fallen off on this one.

4. My Friend Pedro
- This game makes me laugh!  I love it!  It's so over the top ludicrous, and it stores your best moves for each level.

5. Rocksmith 2014
- Played less last year, but still getting better.

6. Star Wars: Fallen Empire
- Really Enjoyable Christmas Gift

7. Injustice 2
- My Go To PS4 game before Star Wars Fallen Empire

8. Dying Light
- Still on my List

9. Starbound
- I never could get Terraria.  Just couldn't figure out how to get the walls and cover to work right.  Starbound made me really fall back in love with the type of game.

10. Grim Dawn
- I didn't really get into Diablo 3- this was more D3 to me than D3.

I use True Launch Bar (http://www.truelaunchbar.com/).  It can just be a quick list, or can take the lists from folders (which mine does)

For those with a Western Digital set top box or something similar it may still be very useful.

Common problem with a WDTV Live was it couldn't handle MKV's that had compressed headers, (I still have and use one), remuxing to use uncompressed headers made the files playable, format translation wasn't necessary.

I just use MakeMKV and have had no problems with my WDTV Hub nor Live playing them.

Living Room / Router Scam
« Last post by wraith808 on January 24, 2020, 08:11 AM »
Well, the article is actually entitled "Reddit Router Scam", but the "Reddit" part is just for clicks.

https://medium.com/h...ter-scam-9aaf42f349e

A couple of days ago one Reddit user had the misfortune to return home and discover something rather interesting hooked up to their router, placed there by their roommate. A cross between a multi-level marking scam and hardware malware, the malicious board had been put into a position that allowed it to harvest every bit of available data from their local network.

“Roommate has come home and stated they found the person on Facebook and installed the device a few days ago. They were told they’d receive $15 a month through direct deposit and all the device will do is run ads for other people when they visit roommates Facebook page…

…well it has been a long night but I’ve finally got all my passwords reset and bank cards cancelled. I have no way of knowing what data was taken as it is not stored on the device. Only thing left to do is grill my roommate for information regarding the person/company that gave them this and decide if I have enough to go to the police.”

Looking at the picture of the board itself, it appears to be an off-the-shelf Friendly ARM NanoPi NEO single-board computer. Built around an Allwinner H3 processor, a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 running at 1.2GHz with 256MB of RAM, the board has a 10/100Mbps Ethernet jack, and a micro SD card slot. That’s a specification that provides more than enough horse power to snoop in on any traffic going across the local network.

More at link... but it goes downhill from there.  As someone else said in the comments, I'd be room mate shopping at that point.

Someone else also said that if you could  sign up and get the free NanoPis without connecting them or giving them real account information...  They'd already have too much information at that point IMO.

Agreed 100%, it's on my todo list.

It should possibly be a generic sort of icon- there are other platforms other than Patreon (frex I use PayHip and liberapay- and I know there's also ko-fi, itch, GumRoad)

Just another ping that the code itself is not OSS.  I like OSS, and this kind of thing as far as projects based on code that wasn't released under that licence gives the whole community a bad name, IMO.

In a perfect world:
  • source formatting would be retained always.
  • pasting with source formatting would be the default always (because that was what was actually copied).
  • alternative paste formats would be available via hot key and/or right-click options.

imho.

You could also have it as an option to scrub pastes or not.  Many might like the default to be plain text.  That's the way a few other clipboard managers handle it.

I'm hesitant to think about having a fundraiser unless I feel we deserved one and I don't feel like we've created enough new good things lately.

Though it is our 15th anniversary this march.  Something to chew on..

If we had smaller fundraisers periodically, then it wouldn't make having them such a burden... just a thought :)

I thought I might transfer some lumens from the airdrop, but they don't currently accept lumens as a funding source  :-\

I don't get enough in the account to use it regularly as they ask.

Not entirely sure on the legalities, but maybe it would be easier to buy the track you want and then just torrent a high-quality version of the track to use as you wish? (If you're bothered about legalities, then you should probably check that haha).

Just because it might be legal, finding the torrent can be fraught with other problems, not least of these is the fact that others don't know that it's legal, and dealing with lawyers if you're unfortunate enough to be caught up in something related to downloading the torrent isn't the most pleasant thing.

(Oh, I wasn't pirating.  I was just downloading an archive track of something that I purchased off of X store...)

Yeah... I know I wouldn't use that as an alternative.

Living Room / Google Chrome Will Support Windows 7 After End of Life
« Last post by wraith808 on January 10, 2020, 12:27 PM »
Google has officially stated that they will continue to support the Chrome browser in Windows 7 to give businesses more time to migrate to Windows 10.

On January 14th, 2020, Windows 7 will reach End of Life, which means that unless you purchased Extended Security Updates licenses, Microsoft will no longer provide vulnerability or bug fixes for the operating system.

For businesses, migrating to a new operating system can be a long and arduous task and while some may argue that organizations have had enough time to do so, many factors could come into play that delays this migration.

This means that many businesses will continue to utilize Windows 7 even after it has reached End of Life and no longer receives critical security updates.

For organizations that rely on Google Chrome for their web applications or SaaS apps, Google has stated that they will continue to fully support Chrome on Windows 7 through at least July 15th, 2021.
