Living Room / Re: Posture in sitting/standing ideas, tips & tricks

If your head/neck is 'tucked' there shouldnt be a problem turning the head to either side, up or down. That naturally doesnt mean there wont be difficulty doing this. I cant really help you any more - I know there are exercises you could do if you have stiffness there. There's a very active forum related to the posture method

try combining it with this:
imagine there's a string pulling you upwards, stretching your backbone, separating the vertebrae. That might make it easier to move the head while keeping better neck posture. Some of the following chapters in the book deal with learning how to 'lock' this stretched posture so it's not a constant effort. It's a nice feeling if you're able to really sit straight without that effort :) It does take time for the body to change it's ways of course.

For example, when I have to tilt and move my neck, I'm not really sure whether I should continue feel like a tucked in giraffe/ostrich or it's alright to move it like normal.

lol Paul -
it depends on what 'normal' is - for very many people, 'normal' is head projecting forward which would make the 'tucked' posture feel weird. I find it the most persistent part of my old posture, a tendency to slump/round the shoulders and project the head forwards.

I prefer mp3Tag Pro. I like that this application can read and write OGG tags, WMA tags, M4a/MP4 tags, AAC tags, APE tags, FLAC tags, MPC tags, WV tags, WAV tags.

mp3Tag Pro seems to get a lot of first time posters recommending it...

I actually tried MP3 Tag Pro a month or two ago & I didn't think it was all that impressive from what I recall. There are much better solutions available.

Looks good Winkie :Thmbsup:

is there a limit on keys that can be used as shortcuts?

I have an english OS (XP SP2) but my keyboard (& location) are german(y). Shortcuts often show in german e.g. STRG + ALT + AKUT (*see below) to which the response is

---------------------------
AltTabFingertips.ahk
---------------------------
Error: "AKUT" is not a valid key name.  The current thread will exit.

Line#
051: }
052: MI_SetMenuItemBitmap(hTrayMenu, 10, 8)
054: Gosub,ReadIni
055: Gosub,SetHotkey
056: Gosub,ShowTrayTip
057: Menu,ATF_Menu,Add
058: Return
---> 061: Hotkey,%ATF_Hotkey%,ShowATF,ON
062: Return
065: RebuildMenu()
067: MI_ShowMenu("ATF_Menu")
068: Return
071: WinActivate,%A_ThisMenuItem%
072: Return
075: if bShowDesktop

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

note it doesnt appear to have a problem with STRG (Control) so maybe it's not a problem with the language?
I tried  ALT + ^  [Zirkumflex] - as that's just above my TAB key (so I could have the best of both) but that not accepted either.

* AKUT = ´
As a mostly left handed mouser something like the example above [RightAlt(which shows as Ctrl+Alt)+´] would be ideal for me on this keyboard.

thanks for the update mouser

btw I notice Avira corrected that false positive the following day (after I reported it)
This URL is indeed falsely classified as Malware. This has been corrected now and with one of the next VDF updates, the URL shouldn't be blocked anymore.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: (un)OFFICIAL BLACK FRIDAY Thread

Sunbelt has a Black Friday sale on today - VIPRE AV and AS is $9.95 single and $19.95 for home licenses.

http://www.vipreanti...rus.com/blackfriday/

Well worth it, in my opinion. The really nice thing is that if you have time remaining on a current subscription, you can buy now and apply the new license later and it will be good for a full 12 months from the date of activation  :Thmbsup:

that's still working (even though they say price reverts midnight last night) :up:

Yeah, every company's privacy policy is worded like that. It's standard boilerplate anymore.

I removed 'Adobe' from thread title as everyone saying this standard bahaviour - it was the combination of demanding so much info & then seeing the privacy policy that got me posting in the first place...
Ironically,
I could have, (as you say Innuendo) downloaded it from loads of other sites....

Find And Run Robot / Re: Need help with running FARR in portable mode on a USB drive
« Last post by tomos on November 27, 2009, 12:09 PM »
I only have "%APPDRIVE%\"
this was what worked

originally I had copied this (but exactly):

you can also use:
%APPDRIVE%\Applications\...
-
I suspect I was meant to fill in my own path instead of the path followed by dots? well I copied & pasted it & left the dots and that's why it didnt work (to create the  %APPDRIVE%\   I removed "Applications" & ended up with %APPDRIVE%\... which also didnt work)

I did it from scratch again and it works :-* - I still have the non-working one so will try compare them and see what went wrong -
this time I changed the ini file before starting FARR but dont see why that should make a difference (will report back later or soon)

Find And Run Robot / Re: Need help with running FARR in portable mode on a USB drive
« Last post by tomos on November 27, 2009, 09:11 AM »
I only have "%APPDRIVE%\" checkbox ticked (so I could search only the flash drive) and it even works when using FARR from a TrueCrypt container.
Mine also doesn't ask for the license key but this is saved in the same folder as the executable so this is normal.
What can I do to help?

thanks for your generous offer Joby
answer though is - I dont know  :(
I tried unticking all other search folders and it cant find anything at all so it's completely ignoring it's current drive
When I leave Farr scripts ticked it can find the correct aliases (i.e. on usb stick)

I dont have time to mess with it more today- maybe tomorrow I'll start from scratch again & report my steps exactly so they can hopefully be reproduced or I'll find some mistake I've made...

v2.80.02 works ok for me as far as I could test it.
My .ini file looks like this:
CONFIGDIR=.
PORTABLE=TRUE
-
mine the same...
I noticed when I started it that I didnt have to add license key so I think it might be still getting settings from my C install

Go to this tab and delete what you want: (see attachment in previous post)

there's always a simple explanation - I was checking out all the ini files etc. :-[  thanks mouser :up:

Find And Run Robot / Re: Need help with running FARR in portable mode on a USB drive
« Last post by tomos on November 27, 2009, 08:11 AM »
I'm going travelling next week so having another go at this

~ I put a clean install on a USB stick
~ Corrected the ini file to PORTABLE=TRUE  (moved it to start of the line)
~ added %APPDRIVE%\Applications\... to "Search folders" in options (with score of 1000)
~ also added %APPDRIVE%\Programs\... as that's the name of programme folder  (with score of 1000)
~ also added %APPDRIVE%\ so it would hopefully search the whole drive  (with score of 1000)

unfortunately it cant find anything on the drive
Could it be using the ini file of my usual install - which is a default (here) C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot or am I doing something very wrong somewhere!

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: CZB pack
« Last post by tomos on November 27, 2009, 07:44 AM »
Well I would start by erasing everything in user variables settings.
how is that done czb?
I happen to have just installed CZB pack today (first time but I still had a lot of the earlier versions which I simply deleted first - no problems!) - you do say in the first post to delete user variables - how is that done - is it the ini file? (I didnt know how to do it & then conveniently forgot it :-[ plugins seem to be working okay though)

Any takers to tell me how to "Delete old user variable section of FARR" (Recommended when updating)
thanks!

N.A.N.Y. 2010 / [IDEA] make Ctrl+Mouse-wheel scroll sideways *in all apps*
« Last post by tomos on November 27, 2009, 03:09 AM »
[IDEA] an app that would allow Ctrl+Mouse-wheel to scroll sideways in all apps.
My initial idea was simply when an app has focus that it would work - but it could be even better if (like KatMouse) it worked simply when the mouse is over a window (i.e. window doesnt actually need focus - maybe I should just request it from the KatMouse author..)

[edit] of course that key combo would clash with FF & Acrobat so maybe another would be better. One would probably need exception rules as well for apps that dont work with it [/edit]
