Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: drag window to edge automatically resizes it
« Last post by jgpaiva on February 13, 2009, 05:44 PM »
:)

Unfortunatelly, I don't really know what's happening there for GridMove not to work with InputDirector. I suppose the program is sending emulated mouse moves/clicks which Autohotkey (the language GridMove is coded with) doesn't recognize. Unfortunatelly, there isn't much I can do.

But at least it works for you at home! (hopefully :P)

Hi Ron!

Duane explained it very well, it should work as he said. Are you still having trouble? If so, just contact me through PM ;)

@Duane: Cool grid! When you get it finished, post it at the custom grids thread, I'm sure people will like to use your grid ;)
ps: you must have a HUGE screen, some of these elements are really too small for my notebook's screen :)

I'm glad you were able to make your own grid!

When you feel it's looking nice, don't forget to share it on the custom grids thread ;)

Sure you can!
All the grids are customizable, you can even modify the original 3-part grid.

TriggerLeft := [MonitorLeft] + 10 would make the square's left edge have 10 pixels of padding from the left edge of the screen.

That was not supposed to happen, co172 :(
Could you tell me what version of gridmove got you the error, when did the error happen and what was the line on the error?

Hi patteo!

In your example, e:\downloads\gridstack HStack ( Window 1 Window 2) e:\grid.grid, the text HStack ( Window 1 Window 2) should be the contents of the file in the first argument.
Thus, if you write HStack ( Window 1 Window 2) in a file named input.stack, you then use the program with the command:
e:\downloads\gridstack input.stack output.grid

ps: the name of the input and output file can be any that you choose.

Oh, I wasn't expecting that :(
Sorry. I have reuploaded it to the same link.

Mitzevo: I always post about new release on GridMove's thread here. But I'll start posting on this thread too.
However, thr best way to keep up to date is to use DCUpdater ;)

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Re: Find and remove duplicate files
« Last post by jgpaiva on February 01, 2009, 08:01 AM »
I am looking for a program that can remove duplicate shortcuts. any ideas?

Just my 5 cents into the matter - try this free prog to <removed link>. Hope it's not too late for recommendation...
The products from this company have been repeatedly pushed by new members to DC which only register, post a "recommendation" for the software right after and then never come back. see here (on this same thread).
I believe this is becoming not only annoying but also deceiving for users reading the forum. I personally would never download software from a company that follows this kind of practices.

Hi guys! I haven't been able to update recently, but after seing the recent Windows7 changes that add a function similar to GridMove, I just had to try to see how it would work in GridMove.

So, you can find a new version which has a bit of change here. Please, please tell me what you think, and in particular if you think it's better (or not) than the previous version :)

[edit] I hadn't predicted some problems.. Please test it with the "Win7Mimic" grid, the 2-part,3-part and 4-part grids have one small usability problem :) [/edit]

Hi MacMichael! Welcome to DC :)

No, there's no way to do what you're asking for in gridmove, but maybe DesktopCoral can help you ;)

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: GridMove: Grids Here
« Last post by jgpaiva on January 23, 2009, 04:24 PM »
Hi kellyllek!
(sorry for the late response :( )
No, GridMove can't automatically place windows.. It's on my todo-list (has been suggested quite a few times already), but I really haven't had any time recently to implement new features into GridMove, I've been only doing bug-fixing.

Regarding the grid you requested, try the grid I've attached to this post, it can do both dual-screen and dual-screen reversed ;) (it's a bit more complex, though).
Also, it's the one I use :)

Since a few months ago, I've only been doing bug-fixing for gridmove, no new features unfortunatelly :(
Time really hasn't been on my side, lately. But I'll be finishing my university course by summer this year (I'm now working on my msc thesis), let's see what life brings by that time ;)

There's no way to do it directly, but maybe it'll work if you use the keyboard shortcuts:

#j::
Run \\Carbon\e
sendinput,#1
Run \\iron\c$\Perl\bin\PerlIS-Err.log
sendinput,#2
return
You'll probably have to add some winwait before the lines I added, though..

Sorry for taking so long, guys..
I have uploaded a new version of GridMove.
You can even download it through the DCupdater.

The new version allows you to disable the Office2007 behaviour.
To do this, run GridMove so that it updates its configs, and then:
Open GridMove's folder (should be something like "c:\program files\gridmove"), and open GridMove.ini with notepad.
Now change "DisableTitleButtonsDetection" from '0' to '1' and save the file.
Then restart GridMove, and all should be as it was before ;)

It is not the first time someone requires something like this. Unfortunatelly, no, it's not possible.
You can, however, make your custom grid. It still requires positioning the windows one-by-one, though.

Then I don't know of any way to identify that window, sorry..

Kibblesnbits: GridMove can ignore windows if you right-click its tray icon and select "ignore/unignore window). As this is saved across sessions, you should only have to do it once.. Is it not working for you?

kwacky1: I think that constantly setting windows to be ontop would potentially take too much processor time, and only help a few programs.

mojo-chan: I did try to add stuff to the window menu (or the window title, next to the other 3 buttons), but have found there's no reliable way to do it with Autohotkey, the language GridMove is built with.
