I can only assume that most people don't like to share their (personal) planning data...
752
Would you be so kind to write a (small) essay about what you had to do for implementing the High-DPI feature(s), or point to the documentation on the net on how to achieve that?
753
Got it.

And now to accurately describe what parts to select and extract and illustrate with examples, please.

Btw: This can't be handled by ScriptLineCounter, so I'll have to use another way to extract the desired content, either using common tools (grep/sed/awk, but they won't work with rtf directly) or a specific program I'll have to write.
754
So I can insert a screenshot, but not the rar or the zip file.

Maybe you shouldn't try to display the .zip file in the message, only attach it to the message, by NOT clicking the 'insert attachment 1' link?
755
Trying with various formats of compressing the rtf file that is not accepted .
Several alternative options:
    • Compress to a zip with a (simple) password
    • Use a different extension for the .rtf file like .artef and then compress into a zip file
And a screenshot is utterly unusable
756
I see nothing !!!!
Me too :o

SLC handles txt, doc, docx, odt, pdf and csv files for its specific task (afair), maybe the type of filtering you need can be accieved by, or added to, it.
758
but since it requires Java I'm now looking for an alternative
Hmm, so you've been scared by the FUD-campaign? The only way Java was a security risk is when it was running from a browser, as was quite common before Javascript became so popular.
FreeMind uses the standard (installed by the user) JRE that doesn't have that kind of vulnerabilities.

Microsoft is also starting to roll out delta updates, which should make updating in the future easier as well. Resulting in smaller downloads/patches if you've kept up to date.
But only after you've updated to the Creators edition, due in April... (afaik)

Wow, mouser is on a roll

Well, I've done a custom text processing app a couple of years back (in fact, exactly 5 years ago today I released version 1.0.0.0...): ScriptLineCounter

It is quite complex to grasp at first, and poorly documented, so do read the linked DC thread, but it may be of help/interest to you 8)

I think he did:

Well, in many cases his answer is hanging somewhere in the shades, this one still isn't quite to the point to me though I'd seen that response.

Notepad++
Search: ( )(\S)
Replace: \2

PSPad
Search: ( )(\S)
Replace: $2
Notepad++ will work just fine when using $2 for the replacement, the \2 seems to be (also) available because of a different regex library used in Notepad++ from PSPad. (PSPad won't work with \2 though).

@Contro: You still gave no answer on the question wether the original spaces between the words are there or not...

General Software Discussion / Re: Long Path Fixer
« Last post by Ath on March 12, 2017, 04:29 AM »
The obvious (to me, at least) reason this feature shouldn't be enabled by default is backward compatibility.
A lot of existing and stable (you could read: no longer maintained) software uses a fixed buffer-size of 260/261 bytes for storing filenames. All that software may need fixes in this area, but would probably crash & burn unpredictably if longer filenames would become the default.

Btw, did anyone take note of the new max length for filenames?

General Software Discussion / Re: Need open .zip archive
« Last post by Ath on March 10, 2017, 11:15 AM »
And next time, don't use Windows so-called archive wizard, but a real compression tool. Many free tools are available, my advise: 7-zip or peazip.

I've seen AVG antivirus (free) slow down the boot process to a crawl, but that was some years ago. There may still be issues like that, can't tell, as I've stopped using AVG for this and other reasons years ago :tellme:
Removing any antivirus, even if only for testing, might give the desired clue.

Screenshot Captor / Re: prt sc not working

Do I need to fix my button trouble before I download the software?
You can configure alternate buttons for capturing your screenshots, on the HotKeys and Shortcuts page you can select Custom hotkeys, I'd advise not to use often used keys like Esc or Tab.

There have been reports of MS OneDrive grabbing the PrtScr key after installation/update and acting all funny/unexpected, but it can be disabled in their settings to allow other applications to use the PrtScr key.

Anyone happy with the new ATH?

Um... ATH?? What is this ATH of which you speak? ...I'm waiting to see how the SEC/ETF thing plays out. Is it anything to do with (/like) that?
It's not me, at least I'm not aware of me being internationally known outside of DoCo :tellme:

I'm currently considering emigrating in order to avoid the whole problem...  :-[
;D ;D ;D

Been there, but eventually never done that drastic measure... :o

Post New Requests Here / Re: Help to install a java script or similar CRGREP
« Last post by Ath on March 06, 2017, 01:54 AM »
With Java applications it is very common that you need a very specific version of Java and you cannot deviate (much) before it (seriously) affects the Java-based application. This is why working with Java-based applications can be complicated, do you update and risk the application not function anymore as you expect (best case scenario) or not at all (worst case scenario)?
Hm, that was the case a couple of years back (when Java 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 5 was current), but now that Oracle is actively demotivating the use of older Java versions and finally removing some long deprecated stuff, most applications behave appropriately, by being forward compatible in nearly any situation. Agreed, I do know of a few obscurities in this area, so it's not eradicated completely, but can usually be easily worked around (by the developer).

The forum has a 'Mark topic' button with several options to keep topics in sight... :)

Please reply to my previous answer

Well, an answer still missing is what to do if there is only one (1) phrase on a line. With current scripts the entire line will be deleted.

Well, re-checking your request, crgrep is a find-only tool, no replace feature, for as far as I can find :P

Most difficult part for you might be to install Java, and set up the JAVA_HOME environment variable.
What OS are you currently on? Windows 7 or Windows 10 (any other Windows I can't make screenshots on, as I've always refused to use Win8/8.1)

Oh, btw, it works like a charm, just tested it with a couple of Office 2013 documents, and found any word I threw at it
sample command-line:
C:\Users\Ath\Documents>..\Downloads\Contro\crgrep-1.0.5\bin\crgrep -i word *.docx
The -i is for case-insensitive search
