To see a tag page on Quora, enter a tag name in the box at the top and watch what happens. If the tag already exists, you'll see it in the auto-list. To see even more, click "search" at the bottom of that list.-app103 (December 29, 2010, 01:49 AM)
Sounds like they averaged the hours per actual users, instead of the US population. Marketing figures, it's all a bunch of ... (fill in your favorite term on the dots)-Ath (December 29, 2010, 10:33 AM)
my top monitor is similar; cheap, poor viewing angles. i've had to angle this top monitor at quite an extreme angle so it isn't annoying to view. if it were angled perfectly vertical then looking at it from below would make it appear quite dark with terrible contrast.
on the other hand my Ezio 24" monitor has the best viewing angles i've ever seen, but that cost over £1000 (over $1500). you could place this at any height or angle and it would look perfect. i'm sure such a monitor would cost less nowadays; it just demonstrates there is still a difference between the budget and high end screens.-nudone (December 29, 2010, 07:16 AM)
Just be warned, that when you allow people to tag stuff with anything they want, things like this can happen.-app103 (December 23, 2010, 05:02 PM)
the best solution is to manually edit and adapt the tags to your website style by allowing moderators or super moderators to edit them somehow.-adi_barb (December 27, 2010, 05:18 PM)
Has anyone mentioned 'Ditto'?-y0himba (December 28, 2010, 03:14 PM)
After a period of some doubts I can now fully second Contro. For me as well there's no alternative. Why? Because I just installed the brand new version of Ditto, and it seems to finally get rid of old problems with losing focus, or not pasting properly. Give it a try!-yksyks (December 28, 2010, 11:28 AM)
- if you must rant or flame, don't 'go live' immediately after the spellcheck. compose offline and let it sit for a few hours. then delete it.-Gwen7 (December 28, 2010, 11:37 AM)

Whatever you choose, it should become the recognizable face of your service, so you really should go for consistency across all sites where your logo will be displayed. Settle on a single design that can serve for your logo on the site, and on facebook, twitter, or anywhere else.-app103 (December 28, 2010, 08:26 AM)

can you trackball guys mention what it's like to "draw" with a trackball. is it impossible or maybe it's very intuitive - i can't really imagine.-nudone (December 28, 2010, 03:52 AM)
Yes, that's snow.-app103 (December 27, 2010, 05:44 AM)

(see attachment in previous post)fond memories
So i got a brand new camera and decided to take a pic of my bedroom window. As you can all see here in Chile is the midle of the summer so it's damn hot, i always wanted for it to snow a little but that's impossible i guess. Anyway i may take pictures of my city (Quillota) in the future so stay tuned and happy christmas to all.-gexecuter (December 25, 2010, 09:59 AM)

I do so hate to be picky, tomos, but when referring to turkey the correct spelling is g-r-a-v-y!

I just saw episode 417 (season 4, #17) of South Park where they bring commercialism back to a dying Christmas.

Actually, what I was talking about wasn't clipmate. i tried something from a while back based on a suggestion here, and it was a very lightweight simple clipboard manager that literally had a grid of boxes with each clip in it, and I could just click the buttons to paste them into whatever form. i forgot what it was called.-superboyac (December 22, 2010, 06:33 PM)
I would probably limit it to public domain/creative commons only, and make the user fill out a credit box with creator info (name, url), and let them check some boxes for the image's license type: BY, NC, ND, SA, PD/CC0 (some of these can be combined, some can not)
This would allow your site to become truly useful as a repository of free images with open licenses and cut down on the legal worries associated with allowing users to just upload whatever they please.-app103 (December 23, 2010, 04:37 AM)

If you only let the uploader assign tags, then you will run into the problem you described.
If you let everyone assign any tags to any image (multiple tags would be best), then each person will use what they want. Eventually, with enough people, every image of a pig will be tagged with all possible tags that could be used to describe it (pigs, piggy, piggie, pig, piglet, swine, hog, sow, babe, wilbur, etc.), including misspellings, and fuzzy searching will become unnecessary.-app103 (December 23, 2010, 04:08 AM)
