HELP - I NEED SOMEBODY!

I'm in need of a couple of members to help "the mission" out by beta testing any of the new "WebSpeakster" apps.

All I really need is to make sure they work (publish the results web page) on a few different systems or/ as well as your opinion of the software concept.

YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED and rewarded by a gift to show my gratitude.

Thanks for any consideration and have a GREAT day,
mikeB

Create it - Publish it - Share it
We offer PC to Web Messaging Software Solutions: all are free of cost, adware, spyware or other intrusive code.

Clarification - cuz, the word "Free" is not always what it seems now-a-days. When we say "Free" that does NOT mean that we implement tactics to make "you the product" like most "free" services of this type (i.e Facebook, etc...) do! In other words - we do not use (or claim ownership) of your data in any way. Check out the comparison in next quote
Comparison: the Pros & Cons of using WebSpeakster apps http://www.webspeakster.com/compare.html

With all the 'social media' type services out there, now-a-days, I know that it is hard to get away from some of your favorites and even consider using any of the 'WebSpeakster' apps.  BUT - please take a minute to get educated on the reason(s) why you might just want to (or not).

The CONS of using WebSpeakster:

  •     The software requires to be installed and ran on a Windows PC. Can not be ran off a cell phone or MAC system.
  •     The free version allows only one publication per day - *deletes off the server after 10 days.
  •     The 'results web page' (your message web page published on the 'cloud') is not customizable when using the free version.
  •     At this time - we are not offering the publishing of videos. This may change if we could only figure out how we could even hope to *compete with 'YouTube':-)
  •     Your published content (web page) is not public unless your viewer has the/ your specific URL.

The PROS of using WebSpeakster:

  •     We claim no ownership of your published data. Maybe you never read the long EULA when signing up to most of the other 'social media' type services - but once you post any data on their server - it is THEIR property to use in any way they want!
  •     We do not treat you as the 'product'. By using our software/ service it does not subject you to intrusion of your viewers, data, or streamed paid **advertising to you or your viewers.
  •     Your published content (web page) is not public unless your viewer has the/ your specific URL: depending on what you are using your published web content for - this may be a benefit instead of a 'con' since only folks that you give the URL to will most likely ever review your published content.
  •     Most all aspects of the software can be easily customized (to your liking). This eliminates most all of the 'CONS' listed above. Joining 'The Code-it Membership' gives you benefits like non other in this world!
  •     If you are a biz (or will be using for a newsletter or publishing promotional content) it would be possible to easily include a means to display a advertising banner to your 'results page' that is published. "Talk to me" about this possible feature.

* we are a small company - the cost of 'cloud' storage, of your files, and required support is more than you might think.

** the free version does have a couple of links to our web site (on your results page that is published).

I'd appreciate any questions or comments related to this software: mb(at)code-it.com
UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THIS (C) INFORMATION WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED!

I've tried Lazarus a couple of times (not updated since August 2011 + homepage unresponsive), but always went back to Textarea Cache because it's so simple to use, and consistent on all pages. I quite often start typing and then leave the page, planning to come back later - as an example I began this post a couple of hours ago, but went to watch a show, before finishing the post. So it's not enough for me to be protected against accidents, (my setup almost never crashes), I must have an incremental backup, which is exactly what Textarea Cache is offering can offer if you do the settings accordingly.

On another topic: A List of Stable, Non-Conflicting and Essential addons by ChessWriter: addons.mozilla.../ChessWriter
- a list of 683 addons...

-but only a list; there is no button to get them all in one swoop.

I didn't stop to think about the "683", but was plain excited to see that the first 3 pages included a lot of the addons I already was using. So it must be a good list...

-------------

What do you do, when you suddenly have a new addon installed, but you or Mozilla have never heard about it before?  :o

browser wizard free 5.8.0

I  have no idea what it is or where it came from - and there are no informations whatsoever. More than four addons have been updated since , so I don't know when exactly it was installed. So far, nothing weird has happened. I will not yet remove it, I want to first figure who brought it here.

The 64-bits file can also be downloaded from MajorGeeks, like the 32-bits version can, so it already has earned the right to be classified as harmless. Otherwise MajorGeeks wouldn't host it. The majorgeeks link (on http://www.majorgeek...tails/blackbird.html) named "Download @ Author's Site  64-bits" goes to [http://www].majorgeeks.com/mg/get/blackbird,2.html, so it doesn't leave the major's house.

You may contact Blackbird via info(at)getblackbird.net for further inquiries

There are a number of alternatives, Stardock Start10 is one: https://www.stardock...om/products/start10/, but from Skrommel there is none for Windows 10.  Maybe read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Start_menu_replacements_for_Windows_8 (for Win 8.)

-My guess is that Agnitums sold too many lifetime keys, and way too few short term keys. Yandex expect much more profit from their Internet browser's search engine (adverts)!

And just MAYBE the owners also have shares in Kaspersky?

Lopesoft has been off the Internet for a few weeks, but is now back on track - and meanwhile FileMenu Tools has been updated to 7.0.4.

PS! I said it wrong in a previous post. FileMenu Tools is not really freeware, but donationware...

a very big disappointment indeed  :(

Agnitum terminates direct and partner sales of the Outpost product line. (...) Agnitum will provide antivirus base updates, bug fixing and technical support until December 31, 2016.

Too many lifetime keys, I suppose.

tomos is closing in on 10 (and some digits)

-our brain is good at understanding what was meant, even when we are talking gibberish...
you know, we read "1,000,000,000 posts", even though it said "1,000,000 posts" ;-)
so "10" ("and some digits") should do, if we want to read what was meant

Go for it, Tom!  we want 10, we want 10, we want 10!

Open a new case

Title of case
Try to clearly summarize your case. For example: "Obama campaign logo", or "1950s retro script".

Sample image
Hint: The best sample images are ones which show the unique features of a font. For example: if a font's R if unlike any other R from any other font, it is very helpful to see that R for identification purposes.

Optional message
The more you can tell about your sample, the easier it can be identified. For example: knowing a sample came from a magazine published in the 1940s makes it much easier to rule out certain possibilities

^several addons can offer just that. What I expect will make SearchWith better than the others, is the option to have it put quote marks around the marked words.

SearchWith encourages a simple context sub-menu by allowing one search engine per search service.

Hold down SHIFT key while selecting any of the search options to edit the selected text or to change the search engine associated with it.

Hold down CTRL key to quote ("") the selected text

Find more information on http://searchwith.mozdev.org

Thanks for informing, MilesAhead, I'm going to install SearchWith right away!

@Tuxman,
Is it easy / difficult / impossible to run Developer Edition as if it was a normal Firefox?

Right now the Developer Edition is version 45.0a2 while the normal fox is at version 43.0.4. Are the D.E. users allowed to "not update"?

According to some, Firefox 43.0.4 is The Last Firefox to allow unsigned addons. I have but a few of the kind, so I wonder what may become real life when Firefox 43 is in the past; Am I to lose a lot of addons, or never update, or...?

My extensions for Firefox 43

And what is all this imitation of another, inferior browser. How weird behaviour is that? Are "they" planning to merge Mozilla and Google?

Will Firefox have a future as my browser, or even as someone else's browser?  :-\

a little funny to realize I briefly was using Yandex 20+ years ago! Back then it was called Arkadia.

History

Yandex's roots trace back to 1990, when Arkady Volozh and Arkady Borkovsky founded the company Arkadia, which developed MS-DOS software for use in patents and goods classification. Their software featured a full-text search with Russian morphology support. In 1993 Arkadia became a subdivision of Comptek International, another company founded by Volozh in 1989. In 1993-1996 the company continued developing its search technologies and released software for searching through the Bible and Russian classical literature.[15]

In 1993 Arkady Volozh and Ilya Segalovich, friends since their school days and by then working together to develop search software,[16] invented the word "Yandex" to describe their search technologies. The name initially stood for "Yet Another iNDEXer".[17] The Russian word "Я" ("Ya") corresponds to the English personal pronoun "I", making "Яndex" a bilingual pun on "index". Another pun is based on the yin and yang contrast (Russian: инь - индекс, ян - яндекс).

The search engine yandex.ru was launched on September 23, 1997 and was ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yandex
-Wikipedia on Yandex

It will be interesting to see if Outpost will continue, or if it is too small a business for Yandex' big shoes.

I have disabled almost everything, so my Runtime Broker really has nothing to do:

This is when doing "nothing":

01.png

and this is when I record music (now via Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder):

02.png

The difference is too small to matter, so I will no longer worry about Runtime Broker, even though it is disappointing that it can't be stopped all together. Maybe Search must be disabled as well. Maybe Explorer must be disabled...   Windows?

FIXED

Microsoft and Adobe released a fix for the poor update that they pushed on 29.12.2015 which lead to crashes in multiple applications.

Please install the update to resolve the crash issues:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3133431
675
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TimeBroker] "Start"=dword:00000003
Change the 3 to a 4.

^ this worked well on the laptop.
Unfortunately, the accumulator has broken down
and I am now on a 'spare' desktop station (32-bits Windows 10 Home)
... and the quoted trick doesn't work anymore!

Any suggestions, please? I "think" I have disabled all out-going services that might use Microsoft Store - and almost everything else.
