Duh! Of course the chicken came first.

Unless you're talking about an egg for a creature other than a chicken.

Well, let's see:

Millions - Really odd how the kid sees "Saints" who don't seem very saintly to me. But really a heartwarming story.
K-PAX - The story of a psychologist and his patient who says he's from another planet called K-PAX. Is he really or is it a psychological disorder?
Martian Child - A story about a troubled orphan who says he's from Mars and the sci-fi author who adopts him. Another heartwarming story.
The Fountain - A story about the fountain of youth/tree of life. There are three time periods in this movie. The question I have is, what really happened? What parts are real and what parts are fantasy? I'm pretty sure the "past" is just a book she wrote. But is the futuristic stuff really the future of the main storyline (approx. present-day), or just weird trippy stuff added for visual effects/drama?
Speed Racer - I just saw this one a few weeks ago for the first time. It's a live action movie based on the old anime (back when anime was still known as Japanimation) series. This is a film where (if you're a deep thinker about movies, like me) you just have to let go and realize it's campy and cheesy on purpose as an homage and in satire of the cartoon. Very colorful, very wild and fun, with plenty of humor, racing action, and even a decent story. IMO, this is a group movie. That is, the more people watching it, the more fun it is to see.

I just got a message from Rado1 saying he updated his screensaver to incorporate my suggestions (to prevent burn-in) and added a new shape.

I have been running my 42" lcd tv as my main monitor for about 8mths now and love it.

How do you do that without being 10 feet away from your desk? Do you have a wireless keyboard and mouse so you can sit on your couch and do your computer stuff?

Congratulations!

I hope you didn't miss the jQuery: Novice to Ninja book that was being given away. jQuery is an AJAX library written in JavaScript, and makes it a lot easier to communicate with or modify the DOM.

Note: I'm still a novice myself so some of my terminology may be incorrect.

This is from 2006?

Yes

The URL makes it look like this is from 6 (June), 2000.

Let those authorities know, that laptop contains a) childporn b) highly confidential material about government etc... and voila, that laptop is being recovered in no time at all...

Not really. If you admit that your own laptop has illegal information (especially of that caliber) on it, they probably don't need the laptop as proof. Your own admission of guilt should be enough for them to arrest you.

I thought this was relevent:

The 10 Most Ridiculous Inventions Ever Patented

Some are stupid, but seem to be patentable inventions, others are more of the "people have been doing that forever, how can you patent that?" type of thing.

I don't get it. The article is written as fact, but several of the comments say it's just rumors and speculation.

Did Google invest in Zynga or not?

What I meant by "regular TV viewer" was frequency (regular basis, or lack thereof) as opposed to method (over the air/antenna TV stations).

I hardly ever watch TV, though when I do, it's usually something that was recorded on the DVR at my parents' house. So I guess both interpretations apply after all.

Well, after pulling my foot out of my mouth, I DMed the woman running @sitepointdotcom, who was very helpful and after some initial problems, eventually got the order registered to my e-mail address.

I still never got an e-mail from them. For some reason it wouldn't go through. But she told me my order number and gave me a link to login to download the book.

Congratulations, Skwire!

I really enjoy seeing members of DC benefit from each other like this.

Thanks Veign, and a really big super duper thanks to mouser for creating DC in the first place!

Deozaan, he can't direct message you unless you follow him. (twitter's rules, not his)

That I didn't know. :-[

I contacted @sitepointdotcom on Twitter and whoever is running that told me the e-mails were sent out almost immediately and that I should check my spam folder. After informing him that I have checked my spam folder multiple times and submitted my e-mail address to them multiple times for the offer and still no e-mail, he said he would help me in a Direct Message if I added to his popularity by "following" him on Twitter.

Yeah right. ::) Only Steve Jobs can get away with that. Or not.

Amazing how what should be great positive publicity for Sitepoint is revealing to me how much I never want to give them a penny.

EDIT: I feel like an idiot. :-[ :-[

DC Gamer Club / Re: The Silver Lining - a fan made sequel to King's Quest
« Last post by Deozaan on July 12, 2010, 10:34 PM »
I played one of the King's Quest games, but never managed to get more than 20 minutes into it. I couldn't ever figure out what to do, and I'd just get killed after wandering around long enough. Might have had something to do with my young age at the time though.

Not sure why I didn't like that King's Quest game since I loved the Space Quest games and played/beat all of them, though I think I had help with the first couple in the series (again, due to my young age).

EDIT: Whoops got distracted. Meant to also ask if someone completely new to the series would find this enjoyable since I have no idea who any of the characters are nor do I know any of the backstory.

That's disappointing. More than 24 hours after submitting my e-mail address to them, the offer is over and my link never arrived.

Good thing I didn't pay for it.
