Wow. I never played any of the games this was inspired from, but they must be insanely difficult.

Does this include the gifting copies of the multiplayer pack? BTW, thanks again deo :)

Yes I think it does. I think it counts for anyone who buys/gets the game before its official launch date.

Here's an HD image (1920x1080) of the 6 hats and 10 forts you get as a pre-purchase bonus. Also, you get access to the game 24 hours early so August 25th.

Another one I was reminded of by Harold and Maude is Benny & Joon, in which "A mentally ill young woman finds her love in an eccentric man who models himself after Buster Keaton."

Back when I first saw it, I thought they both were mentally ill, but I guess Sam is just eccentric.

Alrighty. I've purchased the 4-pack and gifted the extra three games out to you Skwire, y0himba, and Josh.

Enjoy!

If anybody else wants to get in on a 4-pack, you'll just need to organize who collects the money for it.

Maybe I've been unclear. What I'm saying is that you can only ever buy a 4-pack once, because you are required to buy it for yourself. So if you already own the game (from buying the 4-pack or getting a copy gifted to you) then you can't buy a 4-pack because Steam doesn't let you buy games for yourself if you already own them. So all I'm saying is that once the four of us (myself, Swkire, y0himba, and Josh) get this 4-pack, none of us will be able to buy another Worms Reloaded 4-pack. But if another group of 4 people want to go in on the 4-pack, they can decide who to get the money to and have that person buy the game and gift the extra copies to the rest.

Has anyone else confirmed this? If not, I will join in! Who are we sending credits to?

The credits have been going to me. If you're in, send the credits my way and I can probably take care of it today. :)

Send the credits to me and I'll take care of it.

You won't be able to either because you'll already own the game when I gift it to you.

I am donating $20 DC credits.  Can I have a gift copy?  If you get enough money or DC credits, you could buy a few packs and give them out.  We can all play!  Join the DC Steam group folks.
I kicked in twenty as well.

Awesome! Thanks guys! We just need one more person and we can get the 4-pack.

I think, though, that once I buy the 4-pack it will have to be someone else who collects the money and makes the purchase, since IIRC you have to purchase one of the copies for yourself, and if I already own it then I can't do that again.

This isn't new technology. This information is two years old. And the description of how it works is right there in the first post. It says that the bracelet vibrates to let you know a call is incoming.

It's kind of an oldie but will always remain one of my favorites. The flick is Harold and Maude.  Ruth Gordon was SO Ruth Gordon. I felt and believed every word she said. She showed that love really can exist for us oldies, and that love is so much more intricate than the youngsters would ever believe. A charming heartfelt classic and, no, it's not just a "Chick" flick - it's a sensitive loving "any" person flick.

Oh yeah! I really liked Harold and Maude. It was my favorite movie for a while, some many years ago. Come to think of it, I was pretty young when I saw the movie and probably didn't understand most of the connotations. I just thought all the fake/attempted/failed suicide attempts were really strange and humorous, but then again I've always had a kind of morbid sense of humor.

(Harold sure is ugly these days!)

How did you want to do this, Deo?  I can send you fifteen DC credits and, when we have two more pony up, you can buy the four-license pack and gift the copies to us.  Is that what you had in mind?

Yeah, something like that. Basically we need to get all the money to someone and then once we've done that the person with all the money makes the purchase and gifts the other 3 to the appropriate people.

If that someone is going to be me then I can take the money via PayPal or DonationCredits.

Wow, Deo - that's a blatant ripoff if I ever saw one :P

But it looks pretty amazing, an the video is well done. Gonna check it out :)

Yeah, it's the best worms-clone I've ever played. And I don't know for sure, but I think the hats thing was in Hedgewars first and Worms Reloaded copied that.

And back to Worms Reloaded: Anyone want to go in on the 4-pack together? That will make it $15 each person.

I'd just like to point out that Hedgewars is free and open source (GPL-v2) and actively developed. And it's available right now.

EDIT: And I bet Worms Reloaded doesn't have a portal gun!

I use 7-Zip. Mostly because it does everything I ever needed WinRAR for (and more) and doesn't nag me to buy it.

I've also found that the .7z format gets better compression than what I get using RAR, so that's a plus.

I am really starting to dislike donationcoder.com. I have spent more money on games as of recent than I ever have in the past! DANG YOU TO HECK DoCo!!!!!! ;-)

Hey Josh, you should check out Demon's Souls for PS3. Or maybe Disgaea 3. Or how about 3D Dot Heroes? Have you tried LittleBigPlanet? Or perhaps [etc.]. :P

General Software Discussion / Re: What's up with Android versions and upgrading?
« Last post by Deozaan on August 06, 2010, 05:08 PM »
What I've found is a pretty soft implication that some phones cannot be upgraded to higher levels of Android because the phone hardware won't support the upgrade.

I haven't seen that but I don't doubt it. I have seen some phones that will have some limitations after an upgrade.

Yep. I have the original T-Mobile (HTC) G1 (known as the Dream outside of the U.S., IIRC). It simply does not have enough internal memory or other built in hardware for the latest versions of Android OS. It would be like trying to get Windows 7 to install on a 512MB hard drive you originally bought for your 386/66 Windows 3.11 PC almost 20 years ago. I don't think you could even squeeze it down to that size using vLite.

Even if I could get Android 2.2 on my phone (keep reading to find out how I can!), I still could never get my camera to have a flash, since there is no light on the back of the phone.

But hope is not lost! The beauty of the open Android system (as opposed to iPhone, and probably Blackberry and Windows phones) is that some fine modders were able to reallocate internal memory of my G1 so I can get Android 2.2 on my phone using Cyanogen Mod. I'm still on 2.1, but even that was supposed to be impossible for my phone.

If I remember correctly, the original Moto Droid will get the upgrade but will not have the wireless hotspot capability that is in 2.2. Hardware limitation is what I read.

Cyanogen Mod (CM) has allowed me to turn my phone into a hotspot. I used to have to download a special app for my phone for it (which required a rooted phone anyway) but now it's built right into CM 2.1. So maybe the Droid could work as a hotspot with CM installed.

I highly recommend anyone with an older Android phone who might be drooling over the new stuff they "can't" have to try out CM, especially if your phone is already out of warranty. I was becoming super jealous of my friends and family with their new Droids and DroidX and Incredibles, etc., just waiting for my contract to be up (still 9 months to go!) so I could upgrade to a better phone until I found out CM finally got 2.x working on the G1/Dream. Now I actually prefer my G1 over the DroidX. Well, the software part, anyway. I'd still love the better/faster hardware newer Android phones have to offer. :)

And yeah, there are still some things I can't get. I think certain apps are restricted to certain phones or carriers. For some reason I can't get Skype Mobile on my phone. It doesn't even show up in the marketplace (aka app store). Obviously a software upgrade isn't going to give me HD (720p) video recording or an 8 MP camera or a 1Ghz processor. But it's greatly pacified my previously strong desires for a new Android phone. Now I can bear the wait much more patiently.

Admittedly I'm not as well informed on the issue for my opinion to be of much value to you, but assuming similar hardware specs (to the iPad), I'd go for an Android tablet.

submachine was quite good.. got stuck after 20 minutes or so.

I got stuck in less than 2 minutes. I'm not sure, since I didn't get far, but I think the game lets you do stuff that breaks it. The first thing I did when I played was enter a number into the device and it broke into pieces. Then I couldn't do anything else with the machine (or its pieces) so I'm guessing I did something wrong with it?

Then I found a couple pieces of jade and put a switch back into a wall and flipped the switch (which didn't seem to do anything) and that was all I could figure out to do. :-[
