General Software Discussion / Re: Opera: opt out of sync?
« Last post by Contro on September 01, 2020, 01:24 PM »
That seems pretty straight forward.

I believe I did that some months ago.  However going there now I see no button to erase an account.  I did find out that when I signed into sync it was creating another speed dial folder with the exact same name as the one currently is use.  Why nobody else reports this bug is strange.  I guess it is best just never to log into sync as some on the Opera forum suggested.  It would be nice if I could export my dials to a file and import them to fix a scrambled set of dials but Opera says just export your bookmarks then import to fix dials.  Of course this does not work.  Thanks for the reply.

Obviously the answer from 4wd is the very best. But I will keep trying anything else.

« Last post by Contro on September 01, 2020, 01:22 PM »
Anyone know how to opt out of Sync in Opera browser?

Every time I sign in to Sync it erases all my speed dials.  It is a real time waster.

OK, 6 weeks later but going out on a limb here ...

I want to clear all my synced data. How can I reset my account?
If you’ve forgotten your synchronization passphrase or just want a fresh start with the browsing data you share between your devices, you can easily reset your synced data.

To reset your account:

Navigate to http://sync.opera.com/web/.
Select the Reset sync data button.

You will be signed out of all your devices and your synced data will be removed from Opera servers. Keep in mind that any data that has been synced to a device will remain on that device until you manually remove it.

That seems pretty straight forward.

I use it across my mobile, tablets, and PC, never created an account or synced it, (never done that with any browser since the one time I did try it out years ago, it did exactly as you said - erased bookmarks, etc - more trouble than it's worth).

I do, however, use Opera's Flow to pass info between the various incarnations.

Good.
I use only Opera in the laptop now.
But I can try anything if necessary.
Best Regards

Hello Miles.
Opera is my fourth browser installed : Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Opera.
I have imported the bookmarks and assign an account for sync.

What's next ?

General Software Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Windows 10 pagefile size?
« Last post by Contro on August 30, 2020, 07:17 PM »
I use Firefox for opening a lot of tabs.
I have 16 GB RAM memory in the laptop and 32 GB ram memory in the desktop. But I bought this memory for working with virtual machines really.

I also use an addon in firefox OneTab for opening tab collections.

Under windows 10 i haven't configure yet anything about pagefile size. have no problems opening tabs yet.

General Software Discussion / Re: Radial Menu v4
« Last post by Contro on August 30, 2020, 07:09 PM »
The problem with the learning curve is the time we have. But the point is that i am using radial menu just because now I can turn off the monitor in my laptop and before I can't.
obviously is my problem turn off the monitor without any program, but my life is what is...

 :-* :P

I will try the learning curve in the future. At the moment I can configure to open any folder, or any menu. That covers almost all my needs.
The program also has gestures and automation. I tried some of these features in the past with other programs.

By the way for a long time I am happy with windows 10.

One good option is with AutoHotkey

I am using a table menu very versatile .:

AsusPortatil - 31_08_2020 , 0_50_33.png

I can easily create submenus .
At the present moment I am trying radial menu, but the classic is the above one.
I can put the files if needed.
Uses a ini file . A launcher.ini file and a menu.ahk file . Both configurables.

Edited : tofulover puts me a private message to get the code of this program.

I put here for everyone
Best Regards

What is the meaning of : "Drag down and hold" .

launch application, right click notify icon, select "radial menu designer"
the new window that opened, there you have those balls.
left click one yellow ball and hold left mouse button, move mouse to a gray ball while still hold left mouse button
when you reached your destination, lift your finger from left mouse button.

now you have dragged and dropped a ball.

does that answer your question?
I try in this way at the beginning, but it's not the way from the designer.
What I did interpreting your answer was drag a circle from the designer to the desktop. The items dissappear . simply dissapear from the design menu. So I was doing bad and then try the above option with good results.

it's a little tricky .
Requires a certain skill to call the program.
Right click mouse and then down a little open the main window (at least in my system) . Then move the mouse pointer with the right click pressed toward a submenu circle. Then open that submenu with a left click. Maintaining the right click pressed all the time.

How do you do ?
https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=49749.0

Obviously you only have a life to live like me.
Some time ago I wrote an article in one of my blogs about saturation and distraction.

Not all changes are for better.

http://formadoratene...de-medios-y-por.html

You can translate with the blogger tools to english. I wrote in spanish.

The "moraleja" is the crisis of the conventional forums. And that is a risk I want to share, because I am very fond of donationcoder.

We don't have time to be everywhere.....

P.D. The situation remember me when I have Messenger installed and working every time from the tray icon.....
And nowadays I have five mobile lines with whatsapp.....

Sorry , I have put in the blog a google translate button.

I have begin to try this program. Obviously a good one. The worst part as usual is the user : that's me !.
I need some help.
I am trying the htm help included in the program, but don't understand.

https://www.autohotk...iewtopic.php?t=12078

My main PROBLEM is with this :

Default hotkeys:

·         Rbutton (right mouse button):

-          Drag down and hold to show radial menu, release it to select item.

-          Drag in other directions to execute mouse gestures. Drag up shows Navigator.

·         Lbutton (left mouse button): shows/hides submenus

What is the meaning of : "Drag down and hold" . I can see the menu.
I can access the radial menu designer from the icon in the windows tray.

@Contro:
For me the most difficult thing is focus the mind in a target.
So if someone else have the same problem will understand me when trying to acomplish a task step by step. ...
...Do you know an app to do this in windows ?
The best I have used (for years) is MS Project.
It enables you to use two types of view:
  • Gantt charts (conventional) - useful for most small-to-medium and large projects.
  • "Network" charts (similar to PERT) - useful for getting the bigger picture in really big projects.
It also enables costing and fairly sophisticated resource planning/utilisation.

Takes a bit of learning to be able to fully utilise the software, but, if you've ever studied Critical Path Analysis or PERT methods, then you're likely already half-way there (able to put approx 50% of the product to good use at the outset).

I always thought the old MacProject was superb (ahead of its time), but I think MS Project has probably long since eclipsed it.

Thanks IanB. I am investigating what I want :

Task Dependencies - the missing piece
Dependent tasks should block completion
Completing a task when dependent task is not complete
Milestone can be marked complete despite incomplete dependencies

Sub-tasks: The task is broken down into smaller steps. When those smaller steps (sub-tasks) are completed, the task is completed. For example, preparing a meal may involve preparing several courses, and each of these courses may have multiple elements that need to be cooked or prepared. Once all sub-tasks are complete, the main task is complete too.
Pre-requisites: A task requires some other task(s) to be completed before it can start. For example, we can't start baking a pie until it has been assembled. Once all pre-requisites are complete, the task can start.

So I want to filter to see only the pre-requisites tasks.

Hide dependent tasks until dependency is completed is another way to express or say it....

Microsoft Project is not free. I have seen that libre office don't have a project section software....
