this programs intervenes in many more applications than it says it does, and this means that just deselecting programs from the Listary list will NOT do any good for programs that ain't even listed there to begin with.Hmmm. I don't think I've had any problems like that.-peter.s (January 14, 2014, 02:31 PM)
want it to display "hits" from the "immediate vicinity" (e.g. the current folder), and thus it creates "chaos lists", instead of just presenting just the hits you're looking forI think that was one of the points about Listary 4 series, that it uses or can use an Everything-type search engine to find files matching your search string anywhere on your PC. I'd like the per-application option to restrict searches to the local area, but, as it is now, it does put local hits at the top.-peter.s (January 14, 2014, 02:31 PM)
this awful, very intrusive red colorI'd certainly like the option to change the colour-peter.s (January 14, 2014, 02:31 PM)
And also the font size; it's a bit big. In some ways I preferred the look-and-feel of Listary 3 series.I spiced up my file commanders with ahk scriptlets insteadIf your FM is Total Commander, there's a plug-in that uses Locate32. However, Locate has rather taken a back seat since the advent of Everything. Also, if you just want a favourites list, you might take a look at (free) FileBox eXtender.-peter.s (January 14, 2014, 02:31 PM)
this if for maintain on top a mini-window where you can do other things like see tv or a video, or monitoring a task, while you are doing another things on the desktop.Could you do the same thing by tiling your applications?-Contro (January 13, 2014, 04:16 PM)
who are these "real people" you speak of?"Actual people," then - the ones you meet in meatspace instead of virtuality or TVspace-mouser (January 13, 2014, 04:13 PM)

a proggy that enabled you to make little screens from different concurrently running programs/videos - and you could resize and drag each little screen to somewhere you wanted and they could all stay on top.Maybe Contro found it - see his thread - OntopReplica?
I'm sorry I didn't make a note of it [...]-IainB (January 12, 2014, 07:22 PM)

Listary's FAYT feature causes problems on my pc. If there is an option to turn it off, then I may give it a try again.I e-mailed Channing Dai, the author. Here's his reply:-lanux128 (January 06, 2014, 07:14 AM)
This is not a usual request, however it can be done in Listary Options - By
Window Type: Select the application, and then uncheck "Find as you type".
Stickies can be transferred from one machine to another either over a TCP/IP network connection, or by using an SMTP mail server or MAPI client:
Hierarchical friends list, which may be automatically transferred from other friends
Play a sound file on receive
Signature for transmitted or emailed stickies
Favourite friends, and custom lists can be made
free photo editor PhotoScapeThat site doesn't seem to host downloads directly, only through Brothersoft, Cnet and Softonic. Only Softonic had the portable version - and won't let you download it direct; they want you to download their "universal launcher" instead. I didn't bother. No telling what's inside that.-Curt (January 06, 2014, 04:16 PM)
been eyeing Direct Folders for some timeRather than Listary?-lanux128 (January 02, 2014, 09:03 AM)
I'm proud to announce the release of IsoBuster 3.3.
FYI: IsoBuster 3.x now packs a lot of new functionality. Especially nice is
the support for Flash drives, USB sticks, Thumbdrives, Compact, SD, MMC,
Micro SD and other type media / memory cards. But there's also support for
Hard Drives, NTFS, ExFAT, XBOX etc.
To see what's new in this version:

For people with a 1.x or 2.x license, but no 3.x license yet:
You can STILL upgrade with a nice 30% discount, but you really have to do
it NOW !
If you install IsoBuster 3.3 over an already installed and registered 1.x
or 2.x version, IsoBuster will guide you through the upgrade process. Or

The Ultimate data recovery software!

Rescue lost files from a bad or trashed CD, DVD or a Blu Ray disc. Recover deleted files from a Hard Drive, Memory card or of from flash media that Windows says needs to be formatted ! Save important documents, precious pictures or video from the family, your only system backup,...
IsoBuster can do it all!
One tool, supporting all formats, for only one very democratic price.
No accumulated cost if you need more than one type media or file system supported. IsoBuster is a highly specialized yet easy to use media data recovery tool. It supports all disc formats and all common file systems. Insert a disc, USB stick or memory card, Start up IsoBuster and select the drive or media (if not selected already) and let IsoBuster mount the media. IsoBuster immediately shows you all the partitions or tracks and sessions located on the media, combined with all file systems that are present. This way you get easy access, just like explorer, to all the files and folders per file system. Instead of being limited to one file system that the OS picks for you, you have access to "the complete picture". Access data from older sessions or hidden partitions, access data that your OS (e.g. Windows) does not see or hides from you etc.
Product only available as a download.

This particular task can probably be done fairly easily using awk. A 'nawk' (for new awk) executable may not need the bash environment. I'm not sure as there have been several Windows releases and i'm sure some changes in the Linux tools ported.I've always used Gnu AWK for Windows, gawk. Try Gawk for Windows. The slightly older version I have doesn't need a shell. I presume this version does what you need; I've found some variation between implementations in the past.-MilesAhead (December 11, 2013, 10:30 AM)
I think your "snippet" deserves a name. Like, "Delete Except."I seem to remember an ancient DOS program called "DELBUT," meaning "delete everything but these." So would Tsahi Chitin's TDEL. There is no new thing under the sun, and continued development of PCs leads to continual reinvention of the wheel...-nkormanik (December 08, 2013, 11:27 PM)
