Find And Run Robot / Re: Find and Run Robot - Freeze after Launch
« Last post by mouser on October 04, 2015, 04:06 PM »
I wonder why my "old" version 2.223.01 was not notifying me of the new version available..
i didn't put it as an official update notification yet.. i will soon -- maybe do another minor update first in the next few days.

Looks neat -- although i think the cross/christian-imagery could be off-putting to some in my building, so that probably won't work for me..

Nova71, I'd really appreciate if you could redownload the latest official release 2.226 and re-enable %specialsys and try to reproduce the problem.
If it's still there then i will absolutely make sure that directory is not enabled by default and comes with a warning.

I had the exact same problem: FARR freezes after first key is pressed, for 10-15 seconds. Then, subsequent searches with the window open are fast.

I found out that removing %SPECIALSYS_APPS% (from Options -> List -> Search folders) fixes the problem (!!!)
On my system, this is completely replicable

ugh.. you know i'm 99% sure i fixed this problem and released a beta with the fix -- but maybe didn't update the official version??!!@!

let me update the official version today, and you can try it and see if it's fixed.

That's pretty darn good!!!!

you did an awesome job of isolating it from the background.

definitely an alternate reality!
the idea of it being on a scary beach is fun :)

might be nice if it was a little scarier -- perhaps a haunted ghost ship in the water, etc.

it looks like i'm going to have at least one version to put on the wall and surprise people with
this is going to be so fun :)

now an important question:  i hope you made the changes to the high resolution version of the image -- as i am going to need to blow this up and print it?

Find And Run Robot / Re: Plugin Request: Active Directory users

excellent -- though note that you could use FARR to do the searching if powershell just prepared the list of all users/groups.

Sorry for the delayed reply.
There is no such plugin, however, FARR can do a pretty good job of executing a commandline tool and letting you search through the results.. is there a commandline tool somewhere that can output active directory users/groups?

Another feature that might prove useful when handling large numbers of files would be to an option to ignore files where any of the tags are empty and leave them where they are, rather than moving to a folder such as Fix Me.
yeah that might be nice as an option.

Let's see, does this work:

I think it just wants the video id# in between the tags.

that's a clever idea -- let us know if it works.

I have had similar strange behavior with displayport and hdmi.. there was no solution.
5439
Was just about to tell you I couldn't repeat the problem -- till I realized you are talking about the SPLICING OUT function (not cropping function), which removes some middle part of the image.  I'll see if I can't fix this.

Seven Samurai (inspiration for The Magnificent Seven)

One of my favorite movies of all time.  I saw this as a young kid with my father and was blown away.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: Automatically delete clips after pasting them
« Last post by mouser on October 02, 2015, 11:33 AM »
There's no way to do it currently -- it's an interesting idea though it seems a little odd.. Let me think about it.  Anyone else want this feature?

HOWEVER, what CHS will do is let you tell it how old a clip has to be before it is automatically MOVED from the normal "New Clips" group to the "Old Clips Group", so by making that very short you could effectively keep your clip list very concise.

You can also right-click on the Quick Paste group and change the age of clips shown in the quick-paste menu, which would have a similar effect when using quick paste function.

My experience with google and these kinds of things is that there is no way to know and no way to contact a human to find out, and no way to resolve the problem if it doesn't work.

It's tempting.. this is close to my academic background (neural networks, before the "deep" adjective became the magic sauce that everyone throws into everything to get publicity).

General Software Discussion / Re: Request: Deepdream frontend.

I just read through the DeepStyle paper -- its similar but different -- it's computing separate representations of an image's content features and "style" (a bit handwavey, but correlations in texture and color), and then generating (by optimizing a loss function) a novel of image that comes close to having the "content" of the one image and the "style" of another.

I haven't read the DeepDream papers, but essentially I believe they are using object recognition data to hallucinate/exaggerate features that are "perceived" (by algorithm but not by human cognition) in an image.
