Ah, that would make sense it being a USB model. Does it have any separate volume controls in software, in the audio device settings or anything?

I tried installing the software/drivers that came with it but that just made things worse in an unrelated way. The volume problem was still there, and it made another button which usually does nothing start popping up a window telling me that button won't do anything until I install their stupid Microsoft Live Chat program. That do-nothing button is fairly large and easy to accidentally push, so I uninstalled the headphone software and now it does nothing again.

It's okay though. My keyboard has volume controls that I've gotten used to using, with an easy to access mute key for when I want the volume to truly be at 0%.

Yep! Two more games added. "The Binding of Isaac" and "Blocks That Matter" are now a part of the bundle.

I'll opt out of this one.  I like to support them, but it doesn't really look like my cup of tea.

That's how I felt about the Frozen Synapse Bundle. I already owned Frozen Synapse so there wasn't much for me. I figured I'd skip it, but I ended up paying an amount I was happy with, allocating most of it to the charities, and then gifting the game to my nephew.

I tried Captain Forever and I just kept getting murdilized. I'd go blow up another ship and while I was trying to improve my own ship bigger, more powerful ships would come and blow me up with my half-finished Frankenstein creation.

It's not really a bundle since there is only one game (so far). But you know the drill by now.

Pay what you want for a game and charity. (I wouldn't be surprised if more games or bonuses were added later.)

DC Gamer Club / Re: Indie Royale - Similar to Humble Indie Bundle
« Last post by Deozaan on October 31, 2011, 11:50 AM »
It seems to work a little different than the Humble Bundle, with contributions driving down the price rather than driving the average up, and there being a minimum buy in.  But still a good deal, even if I already had ARES and Sanctum.

Yes it is different from HIB. There is a minimum price to pay, and as more people buy the package, it brings the price up. But if someone is generous and pays more than the minimum, they can drive the price back down for everyone else.

There will be a new bundle every 2 weeks. And there's no charity involved. This appears to be strictly an experiment of a new business model (made by the folks responsible for Desura).

I was just heading for bed when I noticed nobody has mentioned Indie Royale here on DC yet. Since there are only about 11 hours remaining I thought I should mention it real quick. It's similar to the Humble Indie Bundle.

I'll do a better job of explaining this later. But for now, if you're at all interested, click through to find out more.

10 million is a crazy number. They had to know they weren't going to make it. Even the Humble Indie Bundles--which enjoy a lot of publicity--don't sell that many and you can pay $0.01 if you want.

The last HIB, the Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle didn't even make it to 25% of 1 million sold.

It probably even has its own separate volume control as a separate audio device. That being said, doesn't it have in-line (on cord) controls?

The volume buttons on the cord simply adjust Windows system volume in 3% increments. Once it gets down to 0% it doesn't go any quieter and I can still hear stuff.

Any tips in getting Rockbox installed on the Clip+? Mine just arrived and the Rockbox installer keeps crashing when I do auto-detect. So I selected things manually and now it's telling me to get the Clip+ original firmware, so I went to the forums and got the firmware but Rockbox installer says it doesn't recognize it (mine is v01.02.16 and it says it only recognizes up to v01.02.15)

So far Rockbox has not been a pleasant experience and does not seem stable at all, and I haven't even gotten it on the Clip+ yet!

UPDATE: Well I managed to find a download for the older firmware. Currently installing Rockbox. *fingers crossed*

I've got a weird volume issue, too.

When I set my volume to 0% I can still hear it through my headphones. Consequently, I tend to keep the volume less than 10%, or else it gets too loud in these headphones.

I guess it's a known-issue with my headphones (Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000).

Customer reviews seem to suggest otherwise. One person complains he can't get a good signal from about 40 feet away. I wonder if maybe that person didn't enable the amplifier/booster? :-\

When San Andreas came out, I realized that I was no longer interested in the series because I had matured.

That's the statement.  The gameplay, over the top violence, and over the top language is grating after a while above a certain maturity level in my opinion.

Apparently it's the 10 year anniversary for GTA 3. Considering my age 10 years ago, that explains why my interests matured not long afterward.

I think the sandbox style gameplay is pretty fun. But the so-called "mature" content (which is actually very immature) is just unnecessary and unappealing to me.

Apparently it launched with a sh!tload of bugs, but is much more stable now.

Yeah, I played the demo on or near launch day and it was pretty bad. But the PC I had then was also showing its age. That was a bad combination.

I should also mention that you're gonna want a few hours of solo play under your belt to get the hang of casting and pick up some of the more elementary magicks. Generally speaking, the more powerful spells involve more (or more complex arrangements of) the elements, so if you wanna dive into co-op or duel as quick as possible looking a few up online might not be a bad idea.

A few hours? :tellme: I had the idea of just playing through the campaign from the beginning (as a noob) cooperatively with someone else. Is that not a good idea?
