Free to use for how long it does not say.
It claims to be shareware, but I don't see any limits.

Thanks for the link cmpm. It has a 45-day evaluation period.

I was just playing with lopesoft's file menu tools, and it has an option to duplicate files in same folder
Thanks for the suggestion Grorgy, but the last thing I want is to clutter my right-click context menu.

@PhilB66
MaimThatFile works just fine for me.
I was unable to make one version work, until I deleted every single thing related to it and started from scratch with the latest variant.
Perhaps that will help in your case, also.

Thanks, will redownload the script.

@Target
(I did not change Win+V)
Relying only on Explorer.exe:
  • No drop target appears
  • F12 does nothing
  • Crlt-alt-x kills it propoly.

Trying to run ThePropagator.exe results in an error message

2009-04-22_102246.jpg

The script doesn't do a thing either.

BTW, I was trying to run another script of yours, MaimThatFile.ahk, and got this error message:

I have installed the latest version of Autohotkey but that did not make any difference.

let me know how it goes

It doesn't.

I did see the "dropzone" area the first time I ran The Propogator, but it was flickering like hell. Dropping a file on the "Target" did the job, but Winkey + V and F12 did not do a thing. Also, when The Propogator is running, I cannot move windows around. Alt+Ctrl+X works fine.

Now, nothing is happenig. I mean, the script is running, but that's about it.

I have a dualscreen setup, if that's of any help.

Here's a fun image for The Propogator:

@joby_toss

Check out Fast Watermark. Freeware, small and portable but has an annoying splash screen that I do not know how to disable (add some code to the .ini file, maybe?). Main Features:
- creation of watermarks;
- rotate watermarks for photos;
- creation of thumbnails;
- moves watermarks on image by mouse;
- supports transparency of watermarks;
- make watermarks more detailed for better protection;
- supports JPG, BMP, PNG, PDF for watermarks;
- pack your pictures into the PDF format for better protection.

*oops, does not do image watermarks.

Yes, it does, but what if I want several duplicates? Is it possible to both stamp and number the files?

Date - Time??
-Perry Mowbray (April 17, 2009, 01:55 AM)

Yes, that would be great. Also, could you add a path to icon in the script so I could add an icon and compile it.

Hope I'm not butting in
-Perry Mowbray (April 16, 2009, 10:35 PM)

Not at all. Appreciate your help, but still waiting to see what Target has in store (no pun intended).

I've also attached a compiled version that you can put into your "Send To" directory.

Does that do it?
-Perry Mowbray (April 16, 2009, 10:35 PM)

Yes, it does, but what if I want several duplicates? Is it possible to both stamp and number the files?

Also, I much prefer a drag and drop method where I could process multiple files at once, if possible.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Target, but that will will rename the duplicate file to "Copy of ..." the source file. I guess I was not very clear about what I am looking for... Anyway, here's a screenshot:

What I want is to drop a file in a folder and get an option to duplicate the file, so I get something like this:

Express version is free. The Standard and Professional editions are not. See feature comparison @ http://www.bbsoftwar...CompareEditions.aspx

May I claim the honor? :D

I get an error trying to download the portable versions... anyways, it's easy to extract the .exe from the setup files with UniversalExtractor. Tried P2Shredder and P2Stego. I agree with edbro re. the splash screens. Also, P2Shredder is not portable. It creates a folder at UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\P2Labs.

Grrrrr. I can't find it. I remember there being a few wiki pages that compared FirstDefense, Returnil, Sandboxie, Deep Freeze, etc., but  can't find them now. Microsoft has SteadyState, but I doubt it works on Server 2008. I know it works on Vista and XP.

I think you were looking for the wiki.castlecops pages, well they took them down.
