@40hz: Yes of course, but you see I was not excluding the terminology in the opening post.
If you start off with fuzzy terms, you generally end up with fuzzy thinking.

And sometimes it just takes a while for the fuzziness to become problematic.

Separately, this seemed relevant: http://imgs.xkcd.com.../infrastructures.png

As we see in that cartoon! :)

More and more, Stallman is being vindicated.

I really don't like some of Stallman's ideas, e.g. he's a radical socialist human-hater that seems to support depopulation, but for the FOSS stuff, he's pretty much being proven right.

Here's an interesting article on Bitcoin:

http://www.libertari...-and-it-poses-risks/

The European Central Bank (ECB) recently issued a report on digital currencies.  The report largely revolves around Bitcoins and Linden Dollars, and provides a review of the currencies from the perspective of central bankers.  Unsurprisingly, they found the currencies to pose “risks” that potentially require future “regulation.”

If central banksters are against Bitcoin, then there must be something GOOD about Bitcoin~! :D

Oh - Man Bites Dog - Good film. ;) One of the early "documentary" fictions.
4429
With The Blair Witch, the *way* the film was done was original - *THAT* made the movie. Otherwise, it would just have been yet another horror. Sure, maybe just a variation, but done with style~! :D

This is one of my favourite YouTube channels - UFO TV Studios -

http://www.youtube.com/user/UFOTVstudios

Now, before anyone starts laughing, it's totally fun! If you don't like UFO documentaries, well, you're missing out! ;D

Lots of free videos there to keep you entertained! And prepared for when the aliens invade! Just kidding! :P They're already here~! ;D

Very few stories are very original. I think that's why I like really good horror films, because they are NEW stories.

"Fallen" with Denzel Washington ("Dark Angel" in some places) was a fantastic movie. But, it told a story that was fundamentally different than others. (No spoilers there.)

Star Wars tells the same story as others, but does it extremely well.

The world flipped over "The Blair Witch Project" precisely because it did new things.

Creativity with a new story, an existing story, or a new way to tell a story - all things that go over really well. :D

But if files aren't proprietary property then a whole lot of law precedent is going to break.

I was thinking about just how absurd things would get, and then I remembered... Silly Renegade! Laws are only there to restrict the freedoms of PEOPLE! Not CORPORATIONS! Sometimes I just let my brain fall out of my head. After all, the rule of law is all about some animals being more equal than others. And we all know the corporations are the pigs. :P

Actually it depends- if the story arc was about Anakin and his legacy, then it might not have been over from an arc perspective, i.e. the first act was his fall, the second his redemption, the third his legacy.  Apparently Lucas had some thoughts in regards to that already.  How true that is, I don't know.

That's what I meant by my disclaimer above about the perspective of the story being about Anakin's rise, fall, and redemption. Just one take on it. It just seems, to me anyways, to be the main theme all across eps 1-6. Nothing else really come close (as I can see) - Anakin is the driving force for the story. I'm sure other people get other things out of it -- and that's one of the great things about good art - we can take different things from it.

But only if Kate Bekinsale were in it - and only if she were wearing that jumpsuit again.

Now that's a vampire! :-* :P

I see your vampire, and raise you a Slayer! :P

Here's a bit of fun history:

http://en.wikipedia....g/wiki/Commodore_PET

In September 1976 Peddle got a demonstration of Jobs and Wozniak's Apple II prototype, when Jobs was offering to sell it to Commodore, but Commodore considered Jobs' offer too expensive.

Oh, what could have been~! :P
4436
Yes...I think you would. ;D

Don't tell me you wouldn't be curious... ;)

@Ren - it's too late. This is one of Geiger's works entitled (no joke): Bambi Alien
 (see attachment in previous post)
 :tellme:

Ah! The beautiful mind of a...

Hmmm...

Sure. Bambi aliens work. Let's just hope that Giger doesn't work in some of his other, um, motifs. ;) It's enough that "Bambi" has one meaning already... :P

Frankenchrist, anyone? :P
4437
Hey! You left out vampires, werewolves, and flesh eating-zombies! Lets not forget about those. :P

I would totally watch a Star Wars version with those in it~! :P ;D

In case you haven't noticed, the internet is illegal according to your government. Enjoy it while it's still around.

But, but, but... Hackers! Terrorists! Anarchists! We need to be "safe"!

More and more we see the vindication of Stallman.
4439
Ahem! Side stories and crossovers?

...

Oh no. The force for making money is still very strong in such as these...

We're talking about different things there.

But inside of the main story there, it's pretty much dead. The story was about Anakin. Anything else is just a different story in the same universe.

By slating it at 7,8,9, or a sequel - it just is pretty tough to swing that. Anakin keeps showing up as a force ghost? Kind of lame. The emperor comes back from the dead? (Actually more believable as he'd gone on about that before - kind of - so still kind of lame without some serious work to justify it.)

So, that story is over -- no sequel - only same-universe stories left.

Well, unless there's some kind of idiotic Highlander-aliens bastardization to completely ruin it forever. :P :D

And yes - the money will continue to flow. That's what it's all about though, right? Dying with the most electrons that you can claim title to?

For those that like physics, "The Mechanical Universe" is a fantastic series:

http://www.learner.o...ources/series42.html

However...

Due to licensing agreements, online viewing of the videos for this resource is restricted to network connections in the United States and Canada.

So, you either need a VPN with a North American IP address, or, http://eztv.it/ . :) EZTV currently has the series being uploaded for torrenting.

From that article:

it's heartening to see BalkanLeaks and Bivol.org continuing to expose wrongs through the use of leaked information, despite the very clear risks.

It's sad when it's riskier to tell the truth or do the right thing than it is to be a criminal. :(
4443

 :tellme:  :o ;D

Hate to say it, but that might just be right.

If you look at it this way:

Episodes 1~3: The fall of Anakin Skywalker and rise of Darth Vader
Episodes 4~6: The fall of Darth Vader and redemption of Anakin Skywalker

What else is there past that? Anakin is dead. Game over.

But that's just one take on them.

What the protesters should do is put the Guy Fawkes masks on the back of their head and march backwards!

Hahahaha~! Excellent! I love it~! ;D

I'm surprised how fast Canada's politicians turned against file sharing and followed the US's lead in state surveillance of its citizens.

They haven't just turned against file sharing -- they've turned against the Canadian people. Our PM is, well, "anti-Canada" would be putting it mildly. He's a disgrace to the office. (He's already been found in contempt of parliament.)

It's sad too.  I would have never thought that Canada would follow in the footsteps of the New World Order .....uh..... U.S.

It's often hard to hear the marching and stamping jackboots over the bleating of the sheeple. :(

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.  Things are admittedly different.  And I thought the same thing.  But having gotten used to it, I can see that my notions were incorrect.

Off topic
I just can't get used to things like you MUST reposition a window then resize it, and only in the lower-right corner. (Yes, I'm aware of the update.) It's just time consuming to have to fiddle around with things like that. It requires moving your mouse across the screen several times more than necessary.

Yes... The fascists have taken control of Canada too... :(

Pretty much whatever horror takes place in the US is mirrored in Canada. And every now and then, Ottawa manages to 1-up Washington D.C. in proving that they can be better tyrants. Not often, but every once in a while.

And the Canadian sheeple say, "baaaaa!"
