i think you were kidding but in case you werent, i'll just say clearly that no we wouldn't do that, we want people to be able to link to their websites and interests.

mouser, you missed the winky at the end of my sentence.. :) anyway, we can leave the signature option on by default for new users and remind them that there is an option to turn it off.. also for users who unaware of the rules (nobody reads every line) and sport ten-foot high banners display inappropriate links in their sig, the mods can always send a gentle hint..

ps. I merged the two topics -- that's why if you click on one of the cross links it will say post not found
that explains it.. i thought i was reading two identical posts.. anyway, congrats mouser! now we have to brace for the "lifehackering" on DC servers.. :)

I wonder if everyone agrees that we should disallow affiliate-type links in signatures?
i have no problems with that.. i think it's better if any links in the sig is about DonationCoder.com only (such as mine).. ;)

for vaporware, the developer teases you with mock-up screenshots with no download links.. on the other hand, Farr2 can be downloaded and being actively updated with plugin support. the latest being the plugin for Locate..

but of course, you are entitled to raise your concern but don't worry Farr2 is working fine as it is now. the public release date is only moot point as i see it.. :)

Okke: thanks, merging both of the options and prompting the user is a good idea since they'd be in the same folder.. but i'm just wondering if there isn't a key in registry that points to the Locate EXE file..
