General Software Discussion / win10 whats new
« Last post by anandcoral on November 10, 2016, 02:34 AM »
Win10 auto updates now and then. It gives me message that "updates installed. learn more". I try to learn more of "what's new in this update" in a "lay user term", but no. It has all sorts of information in various webpages but not a clear cut what it just gave me in this update, other that decreasing my broadband limit.

Is there a way I can see "whats new" in this version/update of Win10 ?

Anand

is the newsletter actually needed?  I mean is it something people have requested?

just wondering.

Yes. Maybe not for some but yes for me and some.
It is the newsletter which gives me scope to get all the goodies of DC in one place and scope to not check DC everyday lest I miss some gold here  :)

Case in point https://addons.mozil...irefox/addon/shelve/. I needed something like this for all the urls I have accumulated and was going to develop similar app for NANY 2017, no need now.

Thanks all to Mouser :Thmbsup:, we are always the beneficiary.

General Software Discussion / Re: What Android Apps Do You Use?
« Last post by anandcoral on October 20, 2016, 04:12 AM »
I've disabled automatic updates on my device. I usually just click "Update All" once a month and ignore any prompts about app updates until the next time I'm ready to update them.

Same here. I should be in control not the stupid phone.

Hi holt,

I will suggest you install winpatrol It is one of my MUST_HAVE.

It will give you list of "startup Programs" and you can easily disable which you do not want, like "Glarysoft updater" here.

This simple horse algebra question has left the internet baffled – but can YOU solve it?

They say the answer is 21. I say it is 42(with MDAS order of operations). Who has the problem with their math?

are you making the mistake of thinking that there is a pair of boots and a pair of horseshoes in the last line?
Or am I missing something :-\

Converting images to letter,

a + a + a = 30
a + 2 b + 2 b = 18
2 b - 2 c = 2
c + a * b = ?

Solving the Algebra equations,

3 a = 30
=> a = 30 / 3 = 10

a + 4 b = 18
=> 4 b = 18 - a = 18 - 10 = 8
=> b = 8 / 4 = 2

2 b - 2 c = 2
=> 2 c = 2 b - 2 = 2 * 2 - 2 = 4 - 2 = 2
=> c = 2 / 2 = 1

c + a * b = 1 + 10 * 2 = 1 + 20 = 21

Answer 21

Regards,

Anand

P.S. Somehow the horse image is not showing in the quoted message. Tried many times but could not set it.

It would inspect your database and automatically create pages, user interfaces, administration forms, multiadministration rights, file uploaders, etc.

WOW !!

It will kill us programmers, sure  :)

I needed a second go through the code to locate the mistake,

That's why testing code is so important.

I foresee the return of the 'luggables' again... :P

It has already started. palm luggable

I see people carrying two mobiles + power bank in one hand  :tellme:
Their fingers work hard just to hold the three.

Add a hand purse, the ladies carry, and you start to wonder "how on earth they manage it"

Thank GOD I am not alone.

I am totally cut off, as said by my friends and relatives. I think it was due to my programming nature, trying to make a code of every problem I face, but can not answer what is happening in the world. Now I can relax, I have "friends" here :)

DC Website Help and Extras / Re: Links in Signature

I was wondering if the reason for the non-useful posts was to get past the threshold to post links in their sig?

I was wondering that too when I noted that one (N) has posted reply to even a year 2006 message !!

Hi Curt, MilesAhead and Shades, thanks for all the information.

The original Documalis Free Reporter v.1.0.0.0 was different than now available on various website. You can see the size at website http://www.winsite.com/Utilities/File-Management/Documalis-Free-Reporter/ and the program image on site http://documalis-free-reporter.software.informer.com/1.0/ and also as below

The problem all the download pages point is some demo or different program. The original is missing from all links. Only option now I feel is to find the original exe from someone who may have downloaded and still have it in his/her hdd/cloud.

Anand

I finally solved the problem, it was that I used Firefox, when switched to IE, there was no problem!  :Thmbsup:
I have also found this typical type of solution in some of the "government" website. They simply do not work properly without IE. I think they are heavily done with activex and asp codes which are forbidden or crap as per new FF / Chrome.

I keep all three ready in my taskbar to make all websites happy.  ;)

Thanks Shades for the links.

I found similarity more or less satisfactory now.
