For the default double click action which opened the drive in explorer (I forget who asked for this but...)
Probably, that was I. It works for me with DOpus. It has done so ever since since the option went in.

Hm... That's interesting. But Bob (below) was the one I was thinking of at the time (I just didn't take the time then to scroll up and find it). If other applications aren't behaving consistantly the issue may not be with GS.

Just tried and it's a lot easier to click once for the info than multiples.
I'm using XYPlorer and have it set as my default file manager.  When I select explore in Got Space the Windows Explorer manager comes up.  Is there a way to bring up XYP instead? Unless I missed it, didn't see where use of an alternate file manager has been brought up before.

Thanks,

Is it behaving for you now, or is it still opening Windows Explorer?

I found it interesting that he says Microsoft's vision isn't visionary and he is a former Apple employee. . .

Perhaps he wasn't intending on singling Microsoft out and perhaps that was just the best video he could find to illustrate his point. Or perhaps not. . . :-\

Either way he's right ... there is no tactile feedback with the single finger interface. Surface is cool... yes, absolutely. But it's a current technology (which needs to get its ass to market...). It's just not the slightest bit futuristic at this point. Which was the author's point ... And I for one agree with him.

I haven't watched the video but the article is a good read. The guy does make some really good points about user interaction ... I know I for one miss the tactile nature of my days as a mechanic.

Though I've never heard of anyone putting ketchup on spaghetti... That truly is perverse!

Wouldn't ketchup on spagetti qualify as being just a really cheap (think hobo cooking) tomato sauce? Mustard or mayonaise... Now that would be perverse me thinks.

And leave Carol alone (she's ok), there's plenty of people we don't like that can be sent off the plank on trumped up charges to spice up the afternoon.

Okay, for those quick enough to notice...

GotSpace.jpg

No the screen shot doesn't match the 10% threshold, because I compiled it at 30% just so something would be red in the screen shot. The download is compiled with a (hardcoded) 10% threshold  ... Which I will probably make adjustable later on.

For the default double click action which opened the drive in explorer (I forget who asked for this but...), I changed the verb from explore to open. Hopefully this will allow it to launch an alternate file browser for those that have their default changed. <- Let me know if that plan worked)

Never did any mobile phone apps, but I do donate time to webmaster for the local Humane Society's No Kill shelter (e.g. you have my full attention ;)).

Are you looking to tie into one of the existing pet adoption systems (like PetFinders.com) to leverage an existing backend database. I mention because they have an existing API/SDK for tieing into their db, and the local HS uses them.

I have a Windows phone, and my wife has a Droid ... Both can be made available for beta testing.

your ignorance would seem to have led you into making a statement that I suspect you would be unable to substantiate at all.

One last statement- or rather, two words.  Radical Wahhabism.  And I'll leave it at that, as I do know what I am talking about on that regard, and we will have to agree to disagree.

I don't think IainB meant any offense with that statement, he's just been on a roll here lately with the rules of debate logic thing. I've actually been enjoying the discussing ... Albeit quietly as I've never had the time to read the Koran so haven't anything relevant to add.

However, if it's just CPU utilisation that I am after, then the quickest most useful display that I can currently get is by:
Step 1. pressing Shift+Ctrl+Esc - which brings up the Windows Task Manager window.
Step 2. selecting the Processes tab.
Step 3. clicking on the CPU column header, to get the active processes (those that are consuming CPU) so that they are stacked in ascending order of size at the bottom of the display.
Step 4. pressing End to get the select cursor to the highest CPU number (that's the one at the bottom of the table, and is normaly the System Idle Process.

Interesting, I do much the same, with one exception. I sort the CPU utilization column so that the highest usage is at the top (which would save you a key stroke) because that is where it opens to by default.

Is flash memory different though? It could be?

Hm... Interesting angle. From what I could get out of this apparently it varies a bit by type. Some types follow the strict (starts out with/as) 1 or 0 premise I was working off above. And... Others do mention trapping (which does sound like an addition to me) electrons which is what the article was on about.

Maybe it's like that poster they used to have in malls, where if you looked at it just right you could see a sailboat.

I hope MS really focuses on the responsiveness of the touch with Windows 8.

Oh I'd say that one is a sure thing. My test box (specs are in another thread) is an older low budget cheap-O, HP all-in-one, with absolutely nothing exciting for hardware. And it's smooth as hell when navigating the UI and/or the inbox games that we all took turns playing with.

The touch interface is cool, when you can touch it. But I gotta tell you ... Accessing it via remote desktop seriously blows. They really gotta fix that part. I've got an HP TouchSmart running the Windows 8 dev preview at the office, I'm really trying to like it ... But it ain't easy.

Now since there is a limit of only two pledge by each contributor

When did this rule get put in place?  I don't believe we've ever had a limit.  Submit all you like, IMO.

I don't think it's a rigidly enforced hard limit rule per se ... It's just a gentile encouragement for quality over quantity.

Rather I guess it a question of whether storing a 1 in memory requires more energy then a 0, or vis-versa.

That's what it boils down to for me (at the platter level). It's a "magnetic" drive, so 1 or 0 is either North or South. Hence a formatted drive which is already all zeros is about as energetic as it's going to get. You can modify what's there, but you can't really add to it...as it's already full of zeros.

Living Room / Re: Is "Thank you for your service" enough for veterans?
« Last post by Stoic Joker on November 05, 2011, 06:39 PM »
Just remember, Saying thank you does not necessarily mean doing it vocally. You can do it other ways like allowing a soldier to go in front of you at a store during checkout, offering them a hand with bags or a large load they are attempting to move, or just simply holding a door open. I don't speak for all soldiers but I do know that some soldiers appreciate small things like this far more than a "Thank you".

It is often said, but never the less true, that actions speak louder than words. Back when I still had the bar, I would serve anyone with a military ID - regardless of their birthdate.

Thank you.

Mother Teresa is like most god-believers to me -- their thinking is based on a psychosis that believes suffering and evil are good for you, and not something to be fought against. I like to think I'm better than that.

+1 - I'm with ya there. But she did at least sincerely try to do the right/good things ... Even if some didn't necessarily end so well.

@wraith - Good point, agreed.

Oh Jesus Christ, Seriously?!? Do we really need to slap a darkside on Mother Teresa? I mean damn... Who ever really lives up to their own hype when put under a spotlight??

Sure I (actually) pride myself on being a cynical atheistic, prick about "Organized Religion" ... I hate it with a passion ... But Mother Teresa was always one that (at least) seemed to be really trying to live up her own retoric. I kinda liked her ... Still do damn the facts/details.

I always wondered why Bill never got more attention for all the good he does.

Probably because he knows that it's counterproductive.  There is nothing helpful about being on the talkshow circut chattering about how much you're helping ... Because you're really not helping anyone but (agrandizing) yourself at that point. When you really want a job done, you focus on doing that job. For the sole purpose of getting that job done. Not wasting time talking about how much of it you specifically did. Ya know...

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Stalled Printer
« Last post by Stoic Joker on November 05, 2011, 10:34 AM »
I don't know if it will solve the problem-when next it happens. I cleared the problem by going into registry. BTW-I've tried that app sent by nogojoe in the past, and it did NOT work. Here's hoping it was updated, and will work when needed.

(For the sake of clarity) I'm the network administrator for a company that specializes in printers, print management, networking, etc.. So I have (a bit) more than just a passing interst in topics such as this.

The registry fixes I've seen for this type of issue generally deal with clean up/removal of unused print drivers and/or (the much more problematic) driver fragments that get left for the spooler to load (and trip over). If that was the route you took it's quite likely it did actually resolve the issue. It's something we have to do frequently on the service tech machines when they get past the tipping point of drivers that have been installed for testing customer printers.

So if you did take the above route, and it resolved the issue, that's a good thing ... But the initial app requested still could be worth investigating/doing for the odd times when something (web pages, large .PDFs, etc.) gets dropped into the spool sideways and gums-up-the-works.

Just a thought,

Stoic Joker

Greetings,
Usually this ends up being an issue with the custom formatting string specifiers. Can you post the current configuration that you're using for T-Clock (screenshot of Time Formatting tab and current T-Clock time)? My current config here at work is:
