I was quite surprised you use pdf for help contents, as that's rather non-standard, AFAICS. The biggest pest being the non-availability of a pdf viewer on Windows by default. The chm format is supported at least from XP and up, and I hope nobody is using an older Windows version any longer
The biggest advantage of chm is that you can jump to the correct information in the file to show really context sensitive information , to do that with pdf would require a specific reader that does support that even from external applications, and I'm quite sure that isn't standardized in any way.

This is the licensing system our company has been enforcing for years. Including a yearly renewal fee that's invoiced at the end of the year. Each product has several standardized modules/features, on top of the base product, that can be bought separately, with some combinations requiring some other modules because of technical reasons. It's mostly the pricing that's a 'bit' different And there's no free trial either, we usually go to the (potential) customer and demo the product(s).

I've built the license generator that, based on the administrative database, generates the new or changed licenses for our customers, and makes them available on our support website.

What you present here is IMHO a very viable licensing system, and with the pricing you suggest, indeed suitable for a worldwide market, ofcourse depending on the module-prices and grouping/discounts you select.

Yeah, XP would be no problem, but the OP is talking about Windows 2000, and I guess he'd better stay away from that misery
AFAICS, nLite doesn't support Win 2000. Should have checked better, it does support Win 2000.
But my opinion doesn't change:
Thy should not use Windows 2000 for general purpose computing in these days of internet threats that require a secure OS and proper security measures.

You need a driver for the SATA controller (probably on the mainboard), not for the diskdrive. I wouldn't know where to start, other that the manufacturer of your mainboard. And you can't put it on an USB drive, AFAIK.

I give up, as it's not worth pulling a dead horse.

You should obtain a Win2000 driver for your SATA controller, or you won't be able to clear this. It should be placed on a floppy drive, as that's the only way to add a disk-IO driver to Win2000, AFAICS.

Any particular compelling reason for using Win 2000? It's no longer updated by Microsoft (even the successor WinXP is declared 'end of life') and lots of modern software (even virusscanners...) won't work on it, so I'd avoid it like the plague. For (software)testing purposes you could install it in a virtual PC like VMWare or VirtualBox.

On modern hardware XP is as fast as W2000, or at least not noticeable slower, if you set it to Classic Windows look instead of showing all graphics bells and whistles, and XP does have decent hardware-driver support in contrary to Win2000.

Using image specified in .wbuc file with .ico file in same directory as WB and WBE exes, the image of the .ico is displayed in preview of WBE, but not when using .wbuc file from WB.

128x128 button size shows whole image, but smaller sizes tried (e.g. 48x48) show a portion of the image.  Would be nice if scaling worked

The transparency is part/attribute of the image, if it's not there (yet), use an image editor to put it in. Paint.NET, Gimp or any decent image editor could be used to do that.

I moved to FF5, despite not-yet-ported plugins, because there's a config setting to ignore the version 5 check:

• type "about:config" in the address bar
• Right-Click/New/Boolean
• Enter name: "extensions.checkCompatibility.5.0"
• Select "False"
• Restart Firefox

(All values to be typed without the quotes shown)
Now the Addons page in FF gives a warning that this 'compatibility setting is enabled, and would you like to disable that' (ignore ofcourse ) but all FF4 plugins that didn't work at first now work, except for the Skype plugin I got (but forgot to disable) when installing Skype.

The equivalent setting seems to exist for FF4, and is still usable in FF5

Oh, my first impressions after just a few hours of use:
- More stable page construction (less moving of controls and page-expanding for a few pixels once the page is rendered)
- Finer quality of graphics display
- A tad quicker on most things, and much quicker on page-refresh (F5) for most sites
- Some plugins are getting a quick update because they are in fact already compatible

I took this as a feature request, and added this to WinSendKeys.
It is now possible to specify a few commands in a strokesfile, --window, --exec and --delay, to switch Window/Exe (-w and -x/-xp parameter equivalents) or introduce a delay of some milliseconds. The details are in the readme file, that's just like the source and a compiled exe, included with the download.
I also introduced the -v parameter to enable %environment.var% and @macro@ expansion on keystrokes (default off to avoid compatibility issues). This variable-expansion is now always applied to the -x and -xp commandline-parameters.

So, without much fanfare, but still proud, I announce: WinSendKeys 3.1.0

If you might find any strange issues, or have a feature request or two, please don't hesitate to respond in this thread.

That specific use-case wasn't asked for before, but WSK (WinSendKeys) supports only 1 target at the moment. You could run two WSK command-lines using a batch though, like you suggested.

I tried the example WinSendKeys.stro as per the example in that file (with the Scite editor already loaded) and it worked as expected:

Like you say, it's a textfile that contains the same keystrokes you can use on the commandline. For each new-line there's the same delay as there is between separated keystrokes. You can even use the ## and #% 'MouseStrokes' and #$ 'ClipboardStrokes' if you like.

BTW, when I choose File->New, I see a preview that shows a button labelled "Test button".  I don't suppose it's easy to have no button displayed, but still with some sort of blank preview...
