Steam pisses me off for one simple reason...

I have a few single player OFFLINE games on steam, BUT if I happen to lose internet without switching to offline mode...can I play them...can I f*#$

Please make sure you have an active internet connection before switching to offline mode

I HAVE NO INTERNET...THIS IS WHY I NEED TO GO INTO OFFLINE MODE...IF I HAD INTERNET, I WOULD BE PLAYING IN ONLINE MODE OTHERWISE YOU STUPID FU$*#NG THING

Instead of localisation per-se why not allow users to edit a .txt file and add all their types of coins/notes(bills) in there.

If you did this, people could also start writing the currency files for you to ship with the final build, where they simply select the required currency from a list, and it grabs the info from the file itself!

If you can post a bit more about what you're trying to do, maybe I can help some more.

It just basically needs to be a live preview of code written in a richTextBox

WebBrowser.Navigate(fullPathToHtmlFile);

I understand this part as that very basic but what it needs to do is navigate to the loaded HTML file selected from a openFileDialog so I figured the code would be more along the lines of:

webBrowser1.Navigate(selectedFile);

Check out MozNet for sure. I've used the old GeckoFX control, and it's wonderful. I bought a MozNet license but haven't had time to use it quite yet. It's dirt cheap too. (I bought early, so I got a small discount, but it's still cheap.)

Im not dead set on using the standard IE engine that comes with visual c# but im somewhat stuck with it right now as im using a machine with no internet connection, so figured I would try at least get the basic functions down.

In the project im doing, im using Syntax Highlighting, (Smart)AutoCompletion and a selection of other features that I feel will make it run a lot better and be a lot more usefull in the future.

Im also sort of re-inventing the wheel with the project in itself as theres no real shortage of software to do some of the things im adding into mine, but I have yet to find one that actually offers them all in one simple window, without having to download 6 seperate suites to do it! Its an adaptation of several earlier projects of mine that I was using as a starting point to learn about the things I needed for this. Still want to bang my face on the desk

when implementing (Smart)AutoComplete but its getting there.

Anybody got any clue how to do the following in Visual C# 2010

When working with richTextBox I would like to be able to output a live preview into a popup form, or same-form object.

This should initially be able to handle HTML code from the 'RTB' and coded to refresh after every statement is closed (IE: <br />)

Obviously manual refresh and such buttons would be required.

The second option around this is to simply have a webBrowser object load a requested .html/.php etc. file.

To do it this way, I would be having a form open, and using onLoad I would be calling an openFileDialog so the user can select the file.

Not asking for anybody to completely code either, just maybe a push in the right direction, or even an MSDN link

This is one of the major functions of the NANY project ive been working on for some time now, and would like to be able to have it come to life in time for NANY!

It would be a massive advantage if the live preview window handled mouseover events and highlighted the code in the 'RTB' for the object the user is hovered over ((IE, if a user hovers over a navigation link called 'Home' the 'RTB' window will automatically navigate to the correct segment in the code, and highlight '<a href="index.html">Home</a>')) <---- Not a massivly required function for the moment and I could probably figure this part out myself after a while! Although, a little hint wouldnt hurt! ^_^

There are some Surge Protection extention cables you can buy from PC World and Argos that come with a massive insurance policy to say if they fail (even for direct lightning strikes) theyw ill cover the cost of ANY damage to ANYTHING plugged into that device at the time of surge. They dont cost all that much, especially when in the UK we seem to be going from mega sunny to crazy ass storm in the matter of minutes (seems to be happening quite a lot these days).

We have _never_ had ground strikes anywhere close to us over the past decade, and I can count around 5 that have hit within a ~30 Mile Radius within the last 12 months.

Im not sure how far north/south you are from us nudone but from what I can gather, the Lake District and soem places down near Devon and Cornwall are the worst affected at the moment. I'm in East Lancashire (Blackburn).

Even so, if there's a bad thunderstorm, I tend to turn off the computer and pull out the plug connecting the APC to the electricity. I do this as well if I'm about to go out for a while and there's a prediction of thunderstorms. Nudone's unfortunate experience makes me feel better about being a worrywart.

Theres the problem...Here in the UK, we don't have any real knowledge when a storm is going to manifest, purely because they hit without any warning at all.

The last storm we had here was a week or so ago, and all the weather report told us was "Slightly Overcast with light chance of precipitation" (What we got was "Black Skies with rain that hurts when it hits you"

After getting SSC to remember my region size ("Preferences>Saving and Loading Files> On Image File Load>Reselect Active Region")

Actually that's something different -- I think what you probably did was perform first a "Grab selection region" capture and then after that perform the "Grab repeat last size+pos" capture, both of which can have custom hotkeys assigned or be triggered from menu.

Also note that the new Screenshot Captor has a menu for reselected the last selected region from within the main interface, which is different but similar and may be useful to people when you have already captured a bunch of larger images (wheras the "Grab repeat last size+pos" option is more useful for repeatedly capturing a small area of the screen).

Hey guys,

Recently I found myself in a bit of a dilema. I was creating animations by modifying static images one layer at a time...now, to do this, I was using the only software I had to hand, which was Photoshop CS3.

Now, if you have ever used Photoshop, you will know that every single time you save an image, it trys to save as .psd, which isn't helpful if you want to create a load of PNG files. Now...I know changing a file type and selecting if you want the image interlaced or not isn't that hard...but imagine having to do that a minimum of 600 times to create 1 short animated gif file.

Frustration and headache caused me to bang my head on my desk a whole bunch of times until it came to me..."omg, I could use SSC for this"

So, at that moment, I downloaded SSC, installed it and set to work.

My first 2 attempts at using SSC for this where complete failures, even after setting '#' as my quick snapshop key. That was because I needed SSC to remember the region i had selected in the photoshop window.

After getting SSC to remember my region size ("Preferences>Saving and Loading Files> On Image File Load>Reselect Actie Region"), and setting up my hotkey, and setting it to stay minimized after capture, I thought I was away...so I had a quick look at the settings to try and get SSC to save my files in number order (If you have ever created a LOT of images to peice together as a gif file, you will know that having them numbered 1,2,3,4,5 etc... if much easier than long file names)...DAMN...no default option available in SSC to do such a thing...plenty of other options, but not that one...so I proceeded to bang my head on the desk again. Then I made contact with mouser via IRC, he informed me that SSC could not do this by default, but there WAS something that it did, that could make this option possible!

To do that, all i needed to do was go to Preferences>File Naming Template and type '%num%' into the Default New File Name area!

So now...instead of spending 30 seconds saving each file and naming them, and making you get RSI a whole lot faster because your having to do more work than required, SSC will do all that for you with ONE button...My button of choice was '#', PURELY because I was moving items within photoshop 1 pixel per time using the Arrow Keys, and # is close enough to them to make life very very easy!

Now I save around 45 minutes, 4 pain relief tablets, and a sore head per project if im doing 750-1000 statics!
