Yeah, I like that implementation. Didnt consider the placement of the keys until you mentioned it but it makes perfect sense as your fingers will be placed there automaticly (if you have a correct finger placement when it comes to typing :P).
Was thinking that a modifier key could be used to get around the WIN+L problem (as that hotkey can be useful and wished to be maintained) but that would ruin the simplicity of setting up the keys and learning them. Much more smooth with just WIN as the only modifier throughout the script.

(I am just rambling on random I think but hopefully I make some sense and perhaps adds to the general brainstorming you two have going :P)

Living Room / Re: about to switch to a Widescreen LCD.

Using a 22" Samsung SyncMaster 226BW http://www.samsung.c...el_cd=LS22MEWSFV/XAA and could not be happier. It looks stylish, works flawlessly and gives me more monitor space  in comparison. Had no bothering gaming or stretching issues.

And agree that its really nice for watching movies :)

As long as its a quality LCD monitor (know nothing of the one you mentioned) it should satisfiy all your needs. Only thing that sometimes bothers me is color bleeding (or what it is called, kind of looks like the light from the back of the monitor blends certain colors together under specific circumstances...rarely noticable even when it happens, feel free to correct me if thats the wrong term to describe it with  :P)

Started playing around with this and really liking it. Started using a single 22" LCD recently instead of my old 2x 19" CRT's and sometimes missed that extra space you get with dual monitors but this can make up for the lost space in a convenient way.

It feels really quick and responsive with the dragging and alt-tabbing as far as I have experienced but not really stressed tested it with other then some basic explorer windows open along with Opera and Thunderbird.

Maybe could be nice with a hotkey that jumps a certain distance sideways (of your choice, WIN+(directional keys?)) so you can access or simply look at the items out-of-view without using the mouse. For example I used to have all my IM programs on my second monitor so I could see who was online etc at all times without the contact list stealing space from the primary monitor. Will use this in a simular fashion by putting them out-of-view and checking them now and again. Just think it would be convenient to "jump" sideways by hotkey (the needed distance, maybe changeable through the .ini yourself), check what you want and then jump back with the hotkey without ever letting your hands leave the keyboard (dont always have a hand on my mouse).

Like the sound of this tool and I am quite sure I'll use it once it is a bit more polished.

On the "out-of-view" part I think it would be easiest if the screen moved to the window as then it would stay in its place, just where you want it. If it moved into view on the screen you would have to place it back where it was before (unless that can be done automaticly once it looses focus again...then that option seems like the better to me.

Looks like a nice and complex game (and I am quite impressed by the amount of possible puzzle combinations) but what chought my eye was your helpfulness in this thread and the determination to be as helpful as possible. Had some credits left to donate and you certainly made yourself worthy for them troughout this thread.

  to you timns

Really enjoyed Outcast which is one of the first games I bought and till now its still one of the best games I have played. Great graphics (even if it was...different) for its time, superb music, great and hooking story. Should re-play it one of these days.

Have started playing PS:T two-three times but always stopped for unexplained reasons but will give it a honest try one day as it really seems to be a game perfectly suited for me.

General Software Discussion / Re: What Are Your Views On BUGS?
« Last post by ThalSwe on February 03, 2008, 08:32 AM »
I only mind them when they interupt my regular usage to a point where it ruins the flow or simply double the time it takes to do whatever I ask of it. If its something minor that can be worked around or a more major bug that is in a part of the program I seldom/rarely/never use, then I can live with it and let the bug be alive.

To much bug killing these days. Didnt we just do that when we were young? ;)

I am for the idea and will help out if I find a way how to do that :P
The wiki idea sounds like a good way to go about it.

Living Room / Re: How many germs are living on your keyboard?
« Last post by ThalSwe on February 01, 2008, 05:34 AM »
There are about 2,696,400 germs on your keyboard right now!
That's equivalent to the number of germs on 539 toilet seats.

Ouch. Thats a lot of germs. Guess the daily public transportation, working with kids at school and occational meal close to the computer doesnt help to keep it clean and free from germs ;)

Been using this program for a while now and really like it. Suits my minimalistic taste without removing the functionality.  Definatly worth recommending.

Fast navigate with Nicknames:
If your bookmarks have nicknames, you can press SHIFT+F2 to bring up a nickname dialog. As you start typing, as soon as you have entered enough letters to uniquely identify the bookmark you will automatically go there.

Took this one a bit further as I love the nickname function but hate the Caps Lock button. Simply turned it of for all programs but Opera where I instead changed it to Shift+F2.

A really nice list of tweaks nontroppo :)

Here is a <a href="http://forums.tigsou...ndex.php?topic=887.0">list of the best freeware games of 2007</a> that I found sometime ago.

That was a great resource. Downloaded a bunch of games already and will probably have a head of entertainment ahead of me.  :D

Just sending a big thanks as I ended up getting SyncBackSE  :-*
The estimated "100%" was correct as this certainly is what I wanted and, even more so, needed.
Hopefully clever usage of said program will allow me to not loose all my data (which happened recently).

Find And Run Robot / [Bug report] Bad core-aliases
« Last post by ThalSwe on January 19, 2008, 11:24 PM »
Was way to bored tonight and went trough the core aliases after finding that the built-in Torrentz search was broken to simply check what else had been updated/changed to brake the functionality.

No results:
Torrent - Torrentz (looked like a minor change in their seach code)
Music - Ubl (too lazy/tired to check as its...way to late/early at the moment)
Lookup - Brainboost (see above)

Other:
Music - AMG
Got errors using the AMG aliases but as one came through (artist) after a while of waiting it might be due to the page rather then a bad alias.
News - BBCNews/BBC
The search string is different for both but it still produce the same results. Should both be there or did I miss the point in having two different BBC-aliases?

Nothing big and maybe nothing wrong other then on my machine (as my computer basicly is the most evil thing since...well ever) but wanted to help out with something. Also did a quick check to see if any of these had been reported before but didnt find anything but sorry if its old news.

Tried it out and found it quite nice but will take a while before it manage to drag me away from Thunderbird etc.
Once it matures a bit and get more functions/stability I am sure this will be a really nice piece of software (I have some hopes for it and more or less already a reserved spot on my hdd for it  ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: Plain text editor for writers

Really like Q10 and used it in the past, if so limited amounts of time. Sometimes I have to put all my focus on the writing and making it harder to access internet or various chat programs or...(you get the idea :P) certainly helps and this program does it well and I cant help that I simply love the way it looks.

Another piece of software I keep on my usb key for easy usage when I am away. One never know when the mood strikes and you want to be creative and write, without the distractions of modern living ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: What's your music player of choice?
« Last post by ThalSwe on January 19, 2008, 09:43 AM »
Was an custom-crazy Foobar user for the longest time, spending way to much time tinkering around with settings,finding/updating plugins and tweaking the look to perfection (and to be honest change it almost once a week since I simply had new ideas by that time ;) ).
Then I found this thread and decided to check it for fun as I honestly was perfectly happy with Foobar and what it offers but to my suprise I actually ended up changing to a new one.

Currently playing around with Jr Media Jukebox and full Media Center version of it and I am not far away from paying for it as it simply is sweet. Love the speed of it, the accessability while keeping it highly customizable, the look and just...the feel of using it.
A big thanks to BRossMac for mentioning it.

Will probably look around a bit more before settling down permanently as I simply was to...limited with Foobar and never gave the rest even a look.
Actually recommend that to anyone in the thread that enjoy their current player, try anyways and you might be surprised :)

(also ended up putting Billy on my usb drive so  for this thread)

Recently found this program and love it.  Had been hunting a program like this since I got my new widescreen lcd and had been satisfied with just having a dimming screensaver but when I found this and discovered the option for it to execute a second screensaver almost made me giddy of joy. Another piece of great and simple software skrommel.  :-*
