Just a little prototype. This'll activate any window that has "opera" in its name when you place the mouse on part of the left side of the screen.

Would you like to have this, but working with any window, and configurable, in terms of windowclass, not title, and in terms of size and placement of "activators"?

It depends on aht to run.
Not necessarly, ahk scripts are compilable, if you'd like, i could compile it for you. (or you could compile it yourself, if you install ahk)

Hmm... So you're basically asking for some kind of window docker, that'll allow you to dock a window in auto-hide mode on the sides of your desktop?

Such thing could be done in ahk. Something like this: You specify a window class and screen border location on a .ini file, and when you move the mouse to that screen border, that window is focused. Auto-hide is harder, though...

What I would really like is just a stand alone program that would do job without all the bells and whistles.
Doesn't that ahk script do just that?

I get a load of spam at gmail, but it's very very rare that any goes into my inbox, most of it gets caught by gmail's spam filter.

As you can see. Cody had a nice trip to Venice!
Actually, shouldn't that be las vegas instead? ;)

Anyways, both are dreamy places! I've been to both, that's why i can tell the difference :P

PS: funny image nevertheless ;)

I agree with Darwin.
But i cut some slack for the users that keep calling to our attention the changes on the programs.
Maybe the best solution would be to call people's attention to the fact that some of the programs have already been updated, and for a more up-to-date/thorough evaluation of the programs, they should read this forum.
This way, these posts could actually be constructive and help review readers instead of bombarding mouser with work.

PS: i have no idea if there's such comment in the review already. If there is, please disregard this post.

Hi rawlinpa!
I've been trying to include this in GridMove for a while, but still haven't found the time to do so.
GridMove already includes a blacklist, but it's hardcoded in one variable, and pnly includes a few apps i know that cause trouble.
If you'd like, i could add it to the ini configuration.

What you mentioned about windows being too small and GridMove taking the whole titlebar, that's actually a bug, as there's code to prevent that situation. I'll try to fix it ;)

Actually, i was just joking, XYplorer doesn't do exactly what ralph is asking for.
What it allows is for you to have a different view per tab.
Dopus probably can do that, i'm sure there isn't much it can't do ;)

Wouldn't that be somehow related to vista? It's not the first time i've seen trouble with settings not being saved/loaded with vista, IIRC.

Maybe this would solve your problem:
Desktop Notepad - Desktop Notepad is a tool which displays the text on your desktop wallpaper. It is user-friendly but feature-rich tool. Now you can write down reminders or work plans and you will see them on the screen. Desktop Notepad can be used to streamline your note-taking. Move your mouse over Desktop Notepad text and the tool will 'wake up' and display its transparent and resizable window.

For a specific example of DRM problems, see this post on our forum, by a known user which couldn't get his genuine movie to play on WMP. (i think it was on XP, tough)

The page IS NOT secure in Opera.
Apparently, the man has no fault... On opera 9.5 build 9562, it is displayed over https, which means it probably was a problem with earlier versions of opera and not the page itself.

I greatly enjoy the function-over-form approach to software here and look forward to finding other communities like this on the web.
I'm sorry to inform you that there is no such thing, when some community starts to have a similar user-base as DC, cody goes there and beats them with a stick!  ;D

Welcome to DC, icekin!

Actually, to be fair, i'm not exactly sure. I thought they should be somewhat similar to english people, and the fact that you have a larger body-build than Tom, made me think you were the one drinking more beer (and everyone knows english people love beer :D).

PS: i'm fully aware that my rationalization makes no sense, but oh well...
PS2: next time, please include a voice sample of the people on the photo saying the same phrase, maybe we'll get there by the accent ;) (actually, given the fact that Tom has been living in germany for a few years, probably that wouldn't help much either  ;D)

And you're looking very professor-ish, Tom!  ;D ;D

PS No one ever made an effort to guess who is who in that picture...
I blame mouser for coming up with that image of cody on the top of the roof!

But now i'm curious! I'd say you're the "orange dude" :P
My rationale was that the man in the blue t-shirt looks more irish, and the man with the orange t-shirt looks more like my professors :)
