General Software Discussion / Re: How many of you use encryption?

That is exactly what I am looking for is an application which has both a driver mode (for admin right users) and an app mode for users on a limited user account. That would be a great tool for my thumb drive.

Is there a truly portable encryption system that allows someone to access an encrypted file on any system via a usb drive?

I am looking to migrate my father's pop3 email account from comcast.net to a new account I created for him on my fusemail service. Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer email via pop3 with folder structure to this new service?

iphigenie: The only thing I can say is to try it. It auto-remembers passwords for websites when you login and it asks you to save them. Give it a try, a lot has changed.

doublewitt: I have no intent of repeating what I've said in the past, however, I will not stand idley by and let a person blindly purchase a program from a company with a very shady support history. I will give my opinion here when asked, and I will do so in a manner I deem which fits the question asked. In this case, the question was would you recommend the program. I said yes but only if you can deal with the fact that you might not get support answers in a timely manner at certain times. I have no intent to bash a company for the past, but I will state what time has proven to be true.

I say restore the posts then lock the corresponding threads so as to allow future generations to possibly reference those threads in future discussions about tagging systems for dc.

IMPORTANT NOTE: do-Organizer default installation directory has changed from ie. C:\Program Files\Gemx\doOrganizer to C:\Gemx\doOrganizer. If you are installing it to version 3.1 default location please remember to copy your licence key to the new do-Organizer default installation location after finishing the installation. Otherwise do-Organize will run in TRIAL mode.

This, imho, is retarded. NO APPLICATION SHOULD INSTALL TO C:\. Not in the modern day and age. Program files exists for a reason, as a single place for installed applications. GemX just made a very big bonehead move.

I am feeling quite out of place in an atmosphere of narcissism, where the focus is always on the "me, me, me."   I don't live in that environment personally or in business and I don't have any close acquaintance with anyone who does.  The only place I have this conflict is on DC.

Mouser, I have attempted to avoid this thread until now. This comment has thrown me over the top. For him to say that we have a "me, me, me" attitude on DC is preposterous. DonationCoder is the only place on the web where I see people willing to go above and beyond to help whatever random person trots on by. What annoys me more is the fact that he says this is the "only place he has this conflict". I am sorry, but I find this comment full of nothing but lies. I can go around the web to a site that comes up in my news feeds and find things far worse than what is on DC. The community here is nothing short of professional while remaining adult. If another adult cannot deal with the occasional "questionable" thread that comes up here, why should we be forced to change and implement a system just for them? That would have been like us changing our posting style to gri's because he insisted upon it.

I am sorry mouser, but I am with f0dder on this one. This is the only comment you will hear from me on this subject or in this thread. CodeTRUCKER, I am sorry, but your self righteous fake attitude is shining through and I for one am through listening to someone telling DC that we are "Better than yet worse than any site" you have come across with regards to our mannerisms and content.

I use Spamato. This combines 6 different filtering systems and allows you to specify how many of them must identify a message as spam before it is marked as such. It's been quite accurate and configurable for me. A great addon!

General Software Discussion / IMAP Email hosting
« Last post by Josh on January 06, 2008, 10:30 AM »
I know this topic exists already on this forum but I wanted a new topic for a new series of this discussion.

I am looking for users of services such as fastmail.fm, runbox, tuffmail and fusemail. I am looking for a good provider to host my IMAP email account and a custom domain, that both myself and my wife can use. It must provide aliases which can be added/deleted as needed as well as catch-all support. It must have a good amount of storage space as I archive almost every email I receive (lots of newsletters to include donationcoder's which is still labeled as spam for some reason (MOUSER?!?!?!?)).

Are there any users of services like the aforementioned? If so, what are your thoughts (including you tinjaw, I know you will vouch for tuffmail :) )

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Fusemail - Professional E-Mail Service
« Last post by Josh on January 04, 2008, 08:05 PM »
Does anyone have any experience with these guys? I am looking to swap and they appear to offer all of the functionality I want, but I want to know about speed and reliability from an experienced user of their services. I have been in contact with Larry from their support team and they appear to offer what I need and he has been more than friendly and informative when it comes to my questions.

Anyways, let me know. Thanks!
