+1 there! :D

The game company is Bluehole Studio:

http://www.bluehole....et/english/main.html

I've actually done a lot of work for them on Tera, so I'm kind of biased. However, I must say that they have their act together very well, and I've done a lot of work for a lot of other game companies.

But, if anyone wants to give up on Tera, please do consider Cabal Online:

http://www.cabalonline.net/
http://www.cabalonline.com/

And yeah, I own stock in the company that produces it~! ;D And, I used to work for the company! So I'm rooting for Cabal all the time!

http://www.estsoft.com/

Bluehole Studio are just the devs, and not the people who RUN the servers...So, I have no issues with them...other than the fact they must have the ability to be able to withdraw Gameforge's contract and award it to a company who will actually make the game what it should be...with customer support that actually responds :P

A few weeks ago, I got roped into playing a game called Tera Online.  After deciding to play the EU server (Rather than the US Server), we chose to download the client via www.tera-europe.com - The US one being http://www.enmasse.com/.  Well...At first, I saw no real problems, but then I got talking to people who play, who claimed to have had zero response from submitted tickets, no mod response on the forums, and many MANY more problems.  Asides from the fact the EU server is way behind in terms of patches!

When Gameforge first released the game (On physical DVD), they didn't even bother changing the name on the box, from their old, tarnished name, and didn't bother advertising the game at all...now, since marketting is the least of their problems, I shall ignore these facts. (Oh, there is also NO mention of Tera on the Gameforge Portal website)

After going free-to-play at the beginning of February, more and more problems began to rise to the surface.

They offered those who had already paid a subscription, some code, that would allow them to get some bonuses, and also get full use of the 8 Character slots (F2P users get 2 slots).  Now...That sounded fairly cool...however, seems that not a SINGLE person ever RECEIVED what they where promised.

Alongside the above, there is also a Cash Shop (To be expected on a free2play game) - Now, in itself, this is no real problem...until you want to buy the points that is...Sometimes it can take 24 hours to even see the points in your account!

There is also something called Tera Club (Jesus...All these different purchase options eh!) which gives you bonus items and such, for a monthly fee.  This was problematic from the start.  A friend of mine decided to purchase this option, and found the items being delivered to the wrong character (One he was going to delete as it was only there so he could see what the class was like) - Now, take note here as well...the items are NONE transferable...so there was nothing he could do to get the items on his main character...so he submitted a ticket (I will go into this further down).

In the last game patch (Nobody is even sure what this was actually for...they said more cash shop items and a new Tera Club item delivery system, but...none of that seems to be true) they told people, that if they had Tera Club, they could now login to the website, and select the character to send the item to.  Heh...This section doesn't even exist...and those who purchased Tera Club BEFORE this change, have been charged, yet received nothing. (I have openly told people in game chat, to force a charge-back on their credit cards for this)...Seems like a scam to me...

Anyway...Onto the support (What support?!)

Tickets simply get ignored...They don't answer a single one...I have spoken with appx. 25 people in game who have submitted a ticket...and NOBODY has ever received a reply, myself included.

Gameforge Support Fail.png
Ticket I submitted on the 7th March, then added a complaint within it, today.

After some searching around on the internet, I see MANY posts on the enmasse forums, BEGGING them to take control of the EU servers...I guess this is a pretty difficult thing to do, legally (Since I guess they are both just licensing the game from the owner/developer.)

Anyway...If the game is something that seems interesting to you (I mean...don't get me wrong, graphically, it is stunning...the story is awesome, and the gameplay is amazing...alongside a multitude of other good points I have for Tera).

Remember...This is NOT a complaint about the game, but instead, about Gameforge.

Avoid the company, avoid any servers they host, instead...find an alternative host of the game (There is a bloody good chance there will be one, if it's listed by them)

B> When I do carry a phone, my movement around a store is generally random...I just walk around basically with my eyes closed...so the data they would get from me, would be completely screwed, as I look at stuff I have absolutely no interest in.

And this, ladies and gentlemen...is why I pirate.

Fuck EA, Fuck DRM.

This is also why I no longer control my Steam account.  I have simply given up paying for games.  The ones I DO buy, I buy so I can play offline (Older games) - And I buy hard copies only.

I don't blame the devs, in fact, I feel quite sorry for them.  But...Honestly...I won't be buying games with DRM anymore...Period.

I did it the hard way, flying 3 to 5 flights a week when possible while taking ground school at the same time.  Walked away with my Private Pilots License in a little under 8 months and started leasing a Piper Warrior a couple months later.

I was flying a lot, back when funds allowed, and when they ran out, I didn't fly for over a year :(

Last time I flew was last month, but only for 1 hour...that's the first time in ageeeees :(
-Stephen66515 (March 08, 2013, 07:31 PM)

I feel for ya bro.  The bad thing about flying that infrequently is it cost you more money in the longrun.  That's why I dived in (no pun intended) fully and slammed so many training flights in a short time.  It's not like riding a bicycle, you forget things, especially when it comes to handling the aircraft.  Another thing to consider is having the same instructor, I had mostly 1 instructor, but when he wasn't available I had to go with other instructors.  All of them have "their way" of doing things, pet peeves, etc.  One of them I considered just throwing out of the aircraft and claiming he committed suicide, he was such a dick.  If you stick with one, you know his ways and he knows your strengths and weaknesses.
My FAA checkflight was 4 HOURS LONG and went into the night.  That guy drilled me like a Marine Drill Instructor.  When I finally got the aircraft docked and chocked, I was sopping wet with sweat, mentally and physically drained.  When he handed my my temp license, I was so relieved and excited, but the only thing I wanted was a shower and a bed.....

Hahaha.

Bit strange your checkflight went into the night though.  Especially with Night/IFR being a totally different set of training/exams :O

I intend to throw myself in and do all the flying in a short period of time, hence the crowd-funding idea.  The ONLY thing stopping me, is funds.

I keep myself up to scratch as much as possible by reading ground school docs, and (as odd as it sounds) going on Flight Simulator every now and again...I know FS isn't exactly perfect, but, it's all I have, and I guess it is better than nothing...and with the right setup, it can be pretty damn realistic, especially when I boot up X-Plane 10 :P

Inspiring someone to maybe also take a step of their own does work.

Had to read that like 6 times before it made sense...brain malfunction to the max.

Yes, I suppose it might have inspired them, or perhaps it was something they have achieved, and want to help others do.

I don't really wanna push the project too much though as I feel like it is shameless self-promotion (If you know what I mean)

Hey guys,

I am interesting in hearing your thoughts on this subject.  Basically, I am trying to fund a life goal, but, am not really pushing the whole site link or anything, yet, I logged in to my paypal earlier, and noticed a pretty nice donation had landed on it.  Now, I have not sent ANYBODY this link, so it was obviously somebody just browsing on Indiegogo and wanted to help.

Now...Question is...is this something anybody here has tried, or will try?  I mean...It has obviously struck up somebodies interest enough to donate a nice amount...

Honestly, if I could afford it, I would just launch a Comms Satellite and grab signal from that...from ANYWHERE.

For now, I am looking at the info you guys have given, and trying to see what is most viable...I might go up on the roof to see roughly what obstacles I will be dealing with.

Oh, I could probably setup a Terminal Computer with PCI based wifi, if that would be better than dongles.

Right, seems I missed a few vital points.

• I cannot setup repeaters (Not without bribing people anyway)
• The WiFi is a family members connection (So I can do wtf I want on that end in terms of equip)
• I can happily run Cat5e + USB 3.0 Dongles wherever needed.

The point of this exercise, is firstly, to save me the hassle and slowness of a mobile broadband network that drops every couple of hours due to no signal.  Secondly, it would be a fun project.

I don't imagine my speeds, once connected to long range wifi, to be all that great...but if I can squeeze 7-10mbps at a constant, that will be fine by me!

The target connection is currently 60mbps, but I will be doubling that (Instant upgrade) for this project.

I have no reflection points (Tall Shiny buildings), everything around here is stone built, and both properties are roughly the same level (sea level) but with larger stone/brick buildings (not huge) in between.

I will get some photos of the equipment I currently have at my disposal, that way, you guys will be able to tell me if it's right, or wrong...cause I honestly have no bloody idea :P

« Last post by KynloStephen66515 on March 04, 2013, 12:35 AM »
OK...First off, I have both a Satellite Dish AND a Parabolic Antenna I could use for this project.

Secondly...I don't know HOW I would use either of those items :P

Thirdly...I cannot simply put either of these on a huge tower, as I don't have planning permission to do so, and don't really want to go through the process of that, for the sake of this.

OK...Now down to the nitty gritty...

I got screwed over by 2 ISPs, and am now refusing to sign-up for another...SO...What I need...Is long range WiFi, without direct line of sight.  There are many buildings in the way, but I guess at roof level, might not be as many obstructions.

The distance would be around 1/4 mile...probably less...

So...Question is...Anybody have ANY clue...if this is possible?

I will be linking with a specific connection...so I don't need something to scan for open networks or anything like that.
