Like Stephen, I can't post a checksum of a file that gets immediately removed by Defender.

Defender Definitions v1.267.267.0 (so below Deo for both, but mines showing no updates available on either - I wonder if those are regional or something.).
-Stephen66515 (April 24, 2018, 07:39 PM)

I was on that version of the definitions when I started making the post but decided to check for updates just in case a newer version would result in the file not being flagged. The file was still flagged on the newer version. So I put down the newer version as what I was currently running.

I think if you are typing over an https connection via a browser you may have some protection

Nope.

https://privatebrowsingmyths.com/

https protects the information that is being transmitted.  not the nature of the transmission.  And that data is still not secure, especially if they use a proxy.  Best practice?  Pretend that it's all open, and don't do anything that you don't want anyone to see.

Aren't we talking about information that is being transmitted here? OP isn't asking about whether or not the website he visits can be tracked, but whether or not the information he types while on the website can be trackrf. If it's being transmitted over HTTPS then the data he types and submits to a site should be encrypted and untrackable. That is, assuming he doesn't have a keylogger on his PC. . . :-\

I post another post, you can't quote right... pfsh.  :P :tellme: ;D

I clicked quote on your other post and it comes up with "Home" in the text...I have no clue why O_O  It works now though...no clue what happened haha
-Stephen66515 (April 24, 2018, 07:40 PM)

I can confirm clicking "quote" will sometime lead to strange results in the text. Though for me it's usually just the letter "e" and nothing else in the quoted area. Sometimes clicking quote again will result in the same weird text. But usually it will properly quote the text on the second or third attempt. I mentioned it to mouser months ago but it's hard to reproduce so I think he just dismissed it.

I'm quoting myself below in the hopes that mouser sees this issue and it doesn't get lost in the silliness we all engaged in earlier.

Mouser: Screenshot captor has a menu item that should take you to video tutorials, and the online documentation also has this link. But the link is currently 404.

Now it's even stranger since we're both using Vivaldi and Defender on the same file and yet I don't get any hit from Defender, even when I scan it after download.

Are you using Windows 10? Maybe we're running different OSes or different versions of Defender/definitions. I'm on Windows 10 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.402). My Windows Defender threat definitions are on 1.267.306.0.

Now I'm going to guess that Deozaan uses Chrome?

Yep. I'm using Vivaldi, which is Chrome-based.

But note that it wasn't Chrome/Vivaldi that flagged it for me. It was Windows Defender's real-time protection.

Neat. Reminds me that Unity has some Machine Learning Agents you can incorporate into your games, which use Python somehow. I should look into this stuff.

Something is really fishy about the site. The download links redirect you to all sorts of places before finally ending up on Mega.

It appears to be their own CDN, (there's ~3 fetch.jdcdn.org links it redirects through):

Code: Text [Select]
  1. Whois query for jdcdn.org...
  2. Results returned from whois.publicinterestregistry.net:
  3. Domain Name: JDCDN.ORG
  4. Registrant Name: Thomas Rechenmacher
  5. Registrant Organization: AppWork GmbH

AppWork is the company that wrote JDownloader.

I figured jdcdn was JDownloader CDN, but the final redirect before ending up on Mega was some fishy looking firsturl.de (archived link) site. It looked like one of those sites that forces you to wait 30 seconds viewing ads before allowing you to get to the real link. Except it didn't force me to wait and just redirected me to Mega after a second or so. Seems it's just a URL shortener/tracker link.

Okay, I'll jump on the bandwagon, too.
Now, if I only knew what CMS means.....???
Content management system. :P

I downloaded from your link and Windows Defender immediately flagged it with the same results you got, Stephen.

EDIT: Something is really fishy about the site. The download links redirect you to all sorts of places before finally ending up on Mega. And supposedly JDownloader is Open Source but I couldn't find the source code.

1. C# (Unity)
2. Check the credits screen. :D It was a team effort. The graphics were made by Durgan.
3. Destroy the big virus in the center. It takes a lot of hits. I'll update the description to include that.

I've only ever done the jam. Mostly because I am not very talented in some important areas, such as graphics, so I tend to use free/public domain (or purchased) art, which disqualifies me for the compo.

What is the "Compo"?

It's the shorter, stricter version of the game jam: https://ldjam.com/ev...nts/ludum-dare/rules

I'm taking a short break for some food and remembered that I forgot to update this thread.

The "theme" is: Combine Two Incompatible Genres (e.g., turn based racing).

See you in a few days!

PBOL / Re: Docked Mode is broken, needs more love

Even so, I'd still like the option to disable auto-hide, so that it is always visible.
You should find such an option on the "Appearances" tab with your choice for "Dock mode".

Where?

PBOL Dock Modes.png

Note that I want to disable auto-hide without reserving screen space. Reserving screen space is such an immensely huge waste of my screen's real estate, it boggles my mind that anyone would find such a feature desirable.

Okay, while investigating this further, I realized I can just click and drag the edges of the window to resize it. So now I've got the docked window large enough to display all the text.

Even so, I'd still like the option to disable auto-hide, so that it is always visible. Or maybe just an option to disable the title bar and the menu bar while in "floating window" mode so I can place it somewhere on my screen for a constant reminder without taking up needless space on those elements that don't need to be visible at all times.

PBOL / Docked Mode is broken, needs more love

The current docking mode is broken in v2.03.

Here's what the current floating window looks like:

PBOL - LD41.png

Here's what the docked window looks like:

PBOL - LD41 Docked.png

I have it set to automatically resize, but it obviously doesn't.

I really wanted to revive this thread requesting a 3rd docking option (always visible, don't reserve space) because I want PBOL to have the minimal docked interface without the title bar and menu bar and I also want it to remain on top of other applications (which is already an option). And ideally I want to be able to have more customization over the dock position so it isn't just snapped to the center of whatever side of the screen it's docked to.

And it would be nice if you added a docking toggle to the context menu for both the window itself and the tray icon. I forgot that docking was set to auto-hide and the app kind of got lost for a while as I tried to figure out how to get it to display again.

For DVDs I still use RipIt4Me

Here's irony for you:

Version 1.7.1.0 (22 March 2007)

* Added an automatic updater. When a new version is available, RipIt4Me offers to download and install it for you. [...] This of course, will only work the next time we have an update.

There was never another update after that.

Sorry in advance for hijacking this thread with some slight off-topic-ness.

I just use MakeMKV for mine.  How does this compare, or does anyone know?

This one? http://www.makemkv.com

I've been using a combination of DVDDecrypter and Handbrake for the past several years to rip my DVDs.

. . . And now that I went and grabbed the link for the DVD Decrypter website, I see that it links to MakeMKV as a way to rip straight from disc to MKV. Thanks for making me aware of it.

Shouldn't the topic of this thread be updated to say NANY 2016 Release? ;)

There is no coupon code for The Bat! nor does it come up discounted when you click the link in the discount email.

I can confirm this is the case. Clicking the link in the discount email shows normal price in cart.

And that's not even taking into consideration the infinite number of possible [email protected] addresses. :'(
