You might be running afoul of the on-demand file option.  I keep my files on the machines where I sync to in all cases.  In the settings dialog, you can find the option.

onedrive_settings.png

My major problem that I've been running into with OneDrive was actually the reason I finally buckled down and turned off automatic updates to Windows 10.  Sometimes, when Windows 10 would do those, it would turn off OneDrive (I think it was a problem with copying a new version while the old version was still running).  Since I turned off automatic updates (WUB to the rescue), I haven't had that problem.

It's a pretty minor feature (though I know major to you :)), so I just upped the minor build.  I might look to see if there's anything I want to add, and up it to 1.1

Just found a link on motherboard about downloading all of the public domain works:

Even though the works are in the public domain, they're for sale in a lot of places, so finding them free can be difficult.

I just joined the Gaming Like it's 1923 Game Jam on itch.io.  It will be my first, and I'll probably be doing an analog game (short RPG or something similar).

It's based on works released to the public domain on January 1st from those expiring from 1923.  Sounds like a cool idea for a Game Jam!

A source for works is https://law.duke.edu...ublicdomainday/2019/

There's also a spreadsheet: https://law.duke.edu...3_works_renewed.xlsx

I think Delphi at version 5 Pro is now outdated.

The concepts that Miles was talking about transcend version, so I think we're OK with that.

It took me a while to even settle on this one.  I now have ideas for how I want to re-write it for multiple file formats, so that can be my 2020  ;D

I guess it's true then, that hindsight is 2020.

Have you been taking lessons from Chris?

You should request it as JSON instead of HTML.

I have JSON files too. Now what?  :)

Thought I'd posted here, but apparently not!  I released the NANY for Mass JSON Viewer.

« Last post by wraith808 on December 30, 2018, 02:24 PM »
For my purposes, I will create a Setup.exe for the Mega Pack that creates a proper shortcut to run AutoHotkey.exe and AHK Script Center.ahk in whatever folder the user specifies. I have just left that static shortcut in there for now that can easily be updated.

You could have the installer to check the registry if there is a link to the .ahk file and only download if it hasn't been registered yet.

Or it would be simpler to just ask for the location of AHK.  Several other programs have set precedence for something like that, and it wouldn't require an installer.

Mass JSON Viewer
Overview
In response to the thread on a G+ Takeaway viewer, and my own needs, I decided to write something that would do the same thing as the Mass HTML Viewer, but for JSON files.

This application is quite simple - you click on the little folder icon, and point it towards a directory, and it lists all files with a .json or .txt extension.  If you click on a file, it will load it to the right.  If you click on the validate button next to the folder icon, it will try to validate then format the JSON, and display it in the area below.

Planned Enhancements

  • Better reporting of errors in the JSON
  • The ability to combine files into one JSON file
  • Actually planning to make this a wider application, by including HTML, and XML formatted by an XSLT, as I have to do both of those regularly.
  • Enhance the UI to make it a bit friendlier

Installation
Mass JSON Viewer requires .NET 4.5.2.  If you have Windows 10, you probably already have it.  If not, you can get it from Microsoft.

After you download Mass JSON Viewer, unzip it where ever you want to run it from, and run MassJSONViewer.exe.

Uninstall
To uninstall, just delete the folder where you unzipped the archive.

Documentation
As Mass JSON Viewer is intended to be rather simplistic, there's not much to using it.  Anytime you run it, the following screen will be shown.

Mass_JSON_Viewer.png

From right to left, the toolbar at the top has the following functions:

  • Exit the application
  • About this Application
  • Launch the Help Screen
  • Validate loaded File
  • Choose Directory

The usual Christmas movies, including Polar Express, Elf, Christmas Vacation, some Disney Christmas special my daughter made me watch, a couple of other random Hallmark movies.  But in that bunch, there were a couple of new ones.

A Bad Moms Christmas was pretty much what I expected it to be, crudely funny at times, and just crude at others.  Christmas Chronicles was unexpected and a real treat!

On KodeZwerg's profile, it shows that he hasn't been on since he announced he was going on vacation on 12/7.  Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait or see if skwire's entry can do what you need.
1221
Simple,

1. First I feel the need or is required to accomplish 'something' in fast and easy way.
2. Existing solution do not solve it fully.
3. Pick up the program language which will do it in easy and fast coding.
(For above I have used AutoHotkey, AutoIt3, Harbour, MiniGUI to name a few, and pick which satisfies most)
4. Make it.
5. Use it and love it.
6. If you feel satisfied and happy, share it with others or release it as NANY :)

I follow it.

Regards,

Anand

This in a nutshell, and well stated.

Hi Wraith
I was just wondering if there could be a control for the level of transparency. I sometimes use a fairly busy desktop, and I would love it if this program could be a bit more visible.

Sure... I can make that happen.  Give me a few days.  It will also give me impetus to finish my NANY, hopefully :)

I take it that you're using a paid account... at what level are you subscribing?

Not so. I'm using the free tier. I was an early adopter so they gave me at least one extra perk. Free accounts get 500 MB of storage and I have 1 GB of storage, of which I'm only using <10 MB. I have no idea what, if any, other bonuses I get for being an early adopter.

I wish they had an even smaller subscription tier. I'd gladly pay $10-12/year, but $48-$60/year makes me question if I really need any of the additional features, the answer to which has been no thus far.

I have that too, and with attachments, 1gb is just not enough for the volume of email that I receive and keep.

DC Gamer Club / Good Instructions for Offline Updates for PS4/XBONE
« Last post by wraith808 on December 23, 2018, 01:13 PM »
When Christmas Day hits, a bunch of people are going to open up brand-new Xbox or PlayStation consoles, plug them in, and wait for gigantic system updates to download and install. Depending on how many eager gamers sign on to Microsoft or Sony’s services to grab updates—or play brand-new games—this process might take longer than usual if either company’s servers are feeling strained.

Thankfully, you don’t have to download multi-gigabyte console updates at the same time as everyone else. You can actually download the latest version of the system software for Microsoft and Sony’s consoles right now.

More at link.

I just downloaded it to hopefully stave off needing to make an update on Christmas, and it's pretty straightforward.
