Thanks for reporting this issue so quickly, hubi!
It should now be fixed if you redownload the beta.

Looks like I added a function several months ago to better identify Aero windows and adjust for their window margins, which requires a call to DwmGetWindowAttribute, which is in dwmapi library.  I hadn't realized it wasn't support on xp, though it makes sense.

So now I only dynamically load the dwmapi dll if/when it's needed, rather than statically link to the library.

So all should be good now.

If you run the latest official non-beta, do you not get that error?

To put it another way.. I'm trying to figure out if Screenshot Captor never worked with Win XP, or if it worked with it up until this latest version, etc.  i.e. is this a new error or an old one?

How strange.
I certainly do not intend to be dropping support for xp, and I'm trying to think what would I would have changed to cause that error..

Can you tell me what version you were using previously? I think that's very important for me to figure out to track down what change is causing that error.

Here ability to add #If declaratives on lines in the results list in the alias configuration would be handy and easy to overview. Mockup:

Ok so that would not be very hard to add and wouldn't require modifying the user interface, so that was my main concern.

Now the question is simply how complicated these #IF rules have to be..  The use of and/or type expressions are the kind of thing that would be easy if there was a proper scripting langauge support embedded in farr, but there isn't..

If it was just one very simple #IF directive, without support for and/or expressions, like
#IF_REGEXMATCH %winprocess% "notepad"

Then it would be pretty trivial to add..

Could I get some testers of this beta:
Download beta version (2.238.01) from here (portable zip).

I've made some improvements to the way alias results with arguments are handled.. my main concern is that I might have broken something.. so if you could let me know if any of your alias results don't display or launch correctly..  There shouldn't be any change with what it finds -- I'm more concerned with the result displays for alias results, and possibly launching results with arguments..

To be clear, items only get added to the GoTo menu when you set them as your BASE/ROOT folder.. They don't get added as you click on subfolders in the tree.
That's by design -- they are only used for switching between your favorite BASE/ROOT folders.

So it sounds like maybe it's working as designed for you?

When I manually add a folder it is remembered and I can use the GoTo to choose that folder.

Might be a misunderstanding of how that menu is supposed to work.

Can you describe the action you take that is NOT adding an entry when you think it should?

It does seem to be mis-identifying some items as not having Start Menu shortcuts when they do.

Here's an example:
