General Software Discussion / Blue Light filter programs
« on: September 12, 2020, 09:38 AM »
I am looking for good Blue Light Filter free programs.
I want some small, with some way to config color temperature and brightness :P

f.lux probably the best known, is a good one, howevere at every start this shows a window to enter my location (zip code)

NightLight by D-Ermis is another really small and good, however haven't options to change settings, the filter is not applied to the mouse cursor.

General Software Discussion / Re: notepad calculator?
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:26 PM »
Thanks @x16wda @flamerz

OpalCalc looks nice, requires .net 3.5, the most smaller and featured .net notepad calculator at moment.
OpalCalc although is "small, 1mb~ requires .net 3.5 and uses 18mb~ ram

However CalcTape have a "modern" interface which it doesn't look bad at all, and I don't see any .net as requirement.
indeed CalcTape installed is 29mb~
but are: CalcTape.exe 9.8mb~ and 20mb~ in dll wich are just translations, you can eliminate those you don't want.
CalcTape uses 4.5mb~ ram
so CalcTape have nice features, translations, without .net requirements and uses less ram.

is winning CalcTape :)

Hi Shades, I've tested RedCrab now with your comment.

This requires net 4.0, i think this is better because requires then a minor version of .net than CalcPad by example, is be able of work on Windows XP also.
However have their cons too.

1. It looks more like a spreadsheet than a notepad

2. Uses much more memory than CalcPad
CalPad starts with 18mb~
RedCrab starts with 80mb~

The start of redCrab is a bit slow.

General Software Discussion / notepad calculator?
« on: July 01, 2020, 11:57 AM »
I'm searching by a free windows calculator with notepad style.
My favorite one is SpeQ Mathematics, although is not more update is small, simple and works good.
However, it does not seem to work with percentages.
I can't make things as declare a variable x=10% or make a sustration as 200-10%
I wonder if SpeQ have some way to works with percentaje.

Another good one is CalPad by TekaGen.
Is small, fast and works with percent and variables.
However this requires .NET 4.8 to works, I would like find something like this but without this kinds requirements (.net, java, etc)

another good one is nekoCalc, this does all this, just in a simple website, the cons, is online, requires a web browser :P

General Software Discussion / Re: The best uninstaller
« on: April 28, 2020, 11:52 PM »
I see that CrystalIDEA's Uninstall Tool is based on the code of Geek Uninstaller.

Do you rate it better than Total Uninstall (TUN)?
Are you sure is based on the code of Geek Uninstaller?
According to their websites, CrystalIDEA exists since 2005, GeekUninstaller since 2012.
In fact, according to its history of changes, the Install Tracker was added on November 12, 2011, a year before GeekUninstaller was published.

Go to the Geek Uninstaller link referenced above by BGM, page down to the bottom of the page:

[ Invalid Attachment ]

Then look at Geek Uninstaller's About page, which says in part:

Geek Uninstaller Pro

Pro version of GeekUninstaller is called Uninstall Tool and it's developed by CrystalIDEA Software company based on my code.
Haha interesting, very interesting fact, thanks for the information :)

I didn't know about Total Uninstall, it looks pretty good, it would be good to check the level of tracking that both do, and see which one is better :)

And sorry for my late reply, I'm not very active on the forum.

Yeah I think HiBit Uninstaller is very good, however I need something wich have an "install tracker" the best I've seen is Uninstall Tool by CrystalIdea.
Instead scan by missed uninstalled elements, this (also) track the instalation, log each file, register value added in the system.

Instead of looking for items missing from uninstalling, Uninstall Tool you can also track the installation process, saves a record of the files and other items added during the process. This is more effective than just "guess" what things are missing to delete, but we have also the option make an scan.
So Uninstall Tool is the best because have: Installation tracker + Uninstall scanner.
https://www.crystali...a.com/uninstall-tool

By other side, some time ago I sent an email to HiBit Software, asking if they could add the "Install tracker", and in fact it's a feature they are developing.
So let's hope at some point we get this :)

I have not much programming skills, but by your words I guess is easy, maybe changing some "window" value by "progressbar" and moving the things in the source?
Well I will check then, but that, I don't have the skills I'd like, even with a "simple" language as AHK:P

Hey highend01 I have a small request, is possible make the progress bar part of main window?

In the current way, the program have some "bugs"
* The progress window is always visible, even as we open other windows
* The 'Download servers' and 'Save config(s)' buttons are wasting window space
* Can look better ;P

Original

A idea example

The same but inverted :P

Why you need use RegEx? I tried to understand regex, but I find it really difficult and annoying, programmers usually avoid it, that's probably why no one has answered you yet.
I think with coding you can make it easier, and also "human readable" :P

So, you need this to replace in text files or something like that?
Or to use with something like PHP, server side?
Maybe Javascript, client side?

In any case, all is doable without RegEx.

Not heavily tested but the basics are working...

You're free to modify it, but reference to my user account name here if you do this...

After you've downloaded the servers (via the belonging button), select one or more (via holding shift or ctrl) in the listview and click on the "Save config(s)" button.
You may want to choose a different path via the "Choose" button first, because the C:\ root may not be writable without appropriate permissions...
Thanks highend01, that works nice! :D

If possible add some information from the download
or that if it is not possible to have the size of the download first then how much mb or bytes have been downloaded

It's a bit confusing don't have some kind of information like that and just seeing a "working" window :P
This can be useful specially if we have a slow internet connection or if was disconnected during download, you know, to know what is happening.

In any case the program works perfectly, thank you very so much! :D

Hello c-sanchez!

As I begin December's coding, I can do this one for you
Vic
Hi publicdomain! thanks for your reply, as you can see highend01 did exactly what I wanted, however I think can be nice view some other tool with the same idea, other implementation :P
Maybe some C++ version or some other programming language would be nice.

How can you make this? Just curiousity heh

By ohter side, just in case, I don't despise what highend01 did, don't get me wrong.
That tool was made really cool, I like the simple and effective things :D

Please tell me what do you want to achieve with this (exactly).
-publicdomain
Well, I usually use vpngate to avoid the download limit of some sites like mega, nothing illegal I think haha, also is much better than download the full VPN Gate Client, since with have the config files and openvpn installed in the system is enough, even exist some openvpn portable!

Is the whole program based on parsing http://www.vpngate.net/api/iphone/ to extract everything?
-publicdomain
Yup, I guess is the best way to do :P

Should the filtering be done multiple times on the resulting files after they're written to your computer (i.e. download in bulk then filter multiple times)?

Is this the case?
-publicdomain
As highend01 did, download the base64-encoded csv list, decode this, show the list, and allow download any config, I'm not sure how is downloaded that.

All configs are downloaded locally is some temporary directory?
Are downloaded via individual links?

Do feel free to express at ease for us to engage!
-publicdomain

Thank you so much for all guys!
Are the best :D

Post New Requests Here / [REQ] VPN Gate OVPN Configs Downloader
« on: November 30, 2019, 09:39 PM »
I would like some program to download the OpenVPN config files *.ovpn from VPN Gate server list
With filtering options, as IP, Country, Name, etc
At this time the only tool with this is OVfinder, a Chrome Extension
https://chrome.googl...ooachioonbkjbbddclpe
This one is good, however I think is better if we can make this from a desktop program :P

VPN Gate website
https://www.vpngate.net/en/
Scroll down a bit to view the list of all *.ovpn config files available for you

base64-encoded, the list is available always as csv too here
http://www.vpngate.net/api/iphone/

https://twitter.com/...s/374470046925336576

I guess that's what Ovfinder uses to give the list.

ovfinder in chrome webstore

N.A.N.Y. 2009 / Re: NANY 2009 Release: Trout (audio player)
« on: April 07, 2018, 08:54 PM »
I'm back with my request to handle "multiple files in an instance" @skwire haha

Until now my player for audio is Winyl, this can manage multiples playlist.
This feature is really important for me, because I have the music sorted by folders with artists names, my dad and sister uses the player too, but is not a problem because each one have your  own playlist "tab"
http://vinylsoft.com/screen3/main.png

I know we can make .pls to make playlists, but the idea is to have everything already sorted in the player. you know, just open, select my playlists and play what ever :P

btw, the volume percent indicator in the trout status bar indicates the volume value if changed clicking and sliding but not if is sliding with the mouse wheel.

and finally, why not add translation support? :P

« on: April 07, 2018, 08:38 PM »
@c-sanchez: Thanks for taking the time to give Snap DB a try.  Unfortunately, as wraith808 said, Snap DB probably isn't going to be the application for you.  I have no plans to add a treeview or multiple database handling to Snap DB.
I understand, it's not what Snap DB was designed for, is ok. Anyway thank you very much for your replies @skwire and @wraith808 :D

N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 Release: Snap DB
« on: April 06, 2018, 12:53 AM »
Yeah, I want to have more than one record in a database file.

For now all my notes are saved in an ini file.
this is the structure what i'm using for my notes. accounts, passwords, phones, etc
https://s6.postimg.o...elhecx/ini_notes.png

the way in how works Snap DB we need make an file for each thing/category.
I think is better if is possible make a database for accounts, password, phones, and so with just one db file.

Indeed I've send a message to MemPad developer requesting for this (make some option to save notes in tables)
Like this: https://s6.postimg.o...horizontal_list2.png

but ok, then Snap DB what need is some as the Structured Index of notes in MemPad
http://www.horstmuc.de/img/mempade.png the list to the left (Program, Index, Editing, etc)

This appears to work fine for me.  I can right-click any column header and rename it.
haha weird, now works here too, I don't know what happens, but I'm sure I saw that problem :S
well, was my first time using the program, who knows ...  :P

Sorry my english.

Hi skwire, finding by something to save my notes with an "table structure" I found Snap DB, the program looks good but I think need to be improve a bit.

Snap DB just rename the last column, not selected one.
I can't have more than one note in an same file, Snap DB make a database by file :(
