Find And Run Robot / portable version keeps making a folder in mydocuments and storing settings there

I donloaded the latest version, portable, put it in a folder called Portables in my program files folder
I uncommented the lines
PORTABLE=TRUE
CONFIGDIR = .
in the Confi_Dir_Default.ini
but it still stores it's setting in mydocuments folder not in the portable dir
I also tried making a copy of the Config_Dir_Default.ini file and calling it Config.ini but still no luck
Suggestions?

Where can I find out about how to make a skin, well actually I just want to know how to modify the skin called "Slender"  basically I want it all black to match my desktop
Obviously someone knows how to or they wouldn't have been able to make skins

Find And Run Robot / auto adding to group alias feature

When I say auto adding to group alias I mean if the files are all in one folder like
I have a group alias called simply   txt
In the results section I have added the paths to the txt files
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\todo note.txt
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\fartips.txt
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\workings.txt
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\HotKeys in use.txt
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\web clippings.txt
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\todolist.lnk
D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\FindAndRunRobotnew\my notes\Thoughts.txt

they are all in the same folder called mynotes
every time I add a new text file to the folder I have to manually open options and add the path to them to the group alias.
It would be great if this wasn't necessary

Find And Run Robot / suggestion/Wish minimal gui

I would love the option to not have the title bar above the input box or the two icons to the side of it (Help and Options)
I like a more minimal look
I tried the slender farr skin but the input box would flicker noticably when I was inputting text.
To me FARR is better in operations to the other good ones I tried like, Executor, Keybreeze and Launchy
but it is least attractive

Find And Run Robot / bigger thumbnails of images?

I have a folder where I keep pictures for sending by emal, it is one of those folders FARR is  set to search
so if I type   cat it shows thumbnails of some cat pics, great feature - trouble is they are too small to see easily it would be nice to have larger thumbnails for pictures - of course you would get less in the list and have to scroll etc.

I have a autohotkey script(fures version of 320mph) that is like a launcher and it shows picture nicely here is a screen shot

Find And Run Robot / setting to exit FARR after search?

I would prefer not to have FARR running all the time but have it automatically quit after doing a search/launch  I cant find a setting for this. Is there a way of achieving this. I use AutoHotkey and would prefer to sumon FARR with a hotkey when I want it and then have it exit until next time I want to call it from my autohotkey keyboard shortcut.

Skrommels Do or Del script = at the moment if you dont type in the correct pass on startup it deletes certain "sensitive folders"
I would like something similar but instead of Deleting if it could just protect them somehow - like scrambling/encrypting the contents or stopping the folder from being opened?

I type imdb and then a word to search so eg
imdb dirty dozen
but nothing shows, do I have to press some key after typing the word imdb? and then type a search term?

Find And Run Robot / help me launch a music file!!!

ok so I set up in Options/search folders   a mymusic folder and in the bottom box the modifier word music. I did this after watching mousers youtube video - so it's all you fault mouser
so now to do a search
I type in +music under      
(this is to find a file called under.mp3)
well it shows as the first item in the results but how do I launch it? So far I have tried these
hit return - but the display results then just change to http:\\www.allmusic.com etc.
arrow down key to highlight the first entry and hit return   gets the same www.allmusic.com
double clicking on the entry - same www.all music.com
how do I launch the mp3file?

I should mention that double clicking the file in an explorer window does play it no problem.

To be honest I haven't updated my version since  2.0.0.140   as there hasnt been any features added that I feel I want and this version works fine so cant see any reason to change it.

What's the Best? / text encryption app/script?

I know there are plenty of encryption apps that let you right click a folder and encrypt the contents or use a hidden drive etc.  What I am looking for is a simple app or script that makesit easy for you to make some text you are sending to a friend in an email unreadable to anyone else without the key/password to decrypt it. So the receiver will also need the same simple app on their pc.   Ideally you would be able to just highlight the text in your emal and press encrypt or a keyboard shortcut and maybe type in a password.

I use texter (or sometimes another ahk script) that allows me to past often used text into notepad.
I set it up so that I just type em and it will insert my email address, or time to insert the date and time
can you do that with FARR or a plugin?

I find the idea very creative and the best I have tried so far. However in practice its not working so well!
I sometimes (quite often) bring up the gui when I dont want to - for instance when clicking the back button on Firefox. I guess I must move the mouse a little too far to the edge.
It would be great to  have the "hot" area smaller.  To Exclude the very top 2inches of your left screen and maybe the bottom too in case it interferes with clicking the start menu.
any hint how I could change the script in some way?

Say you have a folder open of photos, you dont want to open an external viewer as you only want a closer look at a few pics.
on pressing with the mouse button on a picture it would blow up in size to get a better look , when you leave go of the mouse it shrinks back to normal.
Is this possible with say and .ahk script?

What I would like is to have a ahk script (or compiled .exe) to do this
take all the photos I have in a folder  eg C:\mypics\resize    and resize them keeping aspect ratio
preferably with a choice eg 640/480  320/240  obviously the second dimension you wouldnt get if it kept aspect ration it would just be a guide (but I could probably change this myself in the script)
the scipt could use the .exe of irfanview or image magick, I have both - or anything free!

General Software Discussion / anyone using PowerPro? what for? Share use ideas?

I have heard it mentioned on a few forums and also heard people comment its great but... not easy to fathom etc.
I think its such a pity it doesnt have its own forum/website. There is a yahoo groups but I hate that format!
Anyway I was wondering what people are using it for and are you willing to describe something you go with it?

One thing i use it for is to change the screen resolution, yep I do this before doing a video capture to save cpu.memory. anyway I just use powerpro in combo with qres, so just need the command qres.exe c/:16

I also use it for pasting text snipits.

what you do use it for?

What's the Best? / Best file archiver/compresser

I use winrar, I do notice however that it often doesnt really compress that much. I also note that most files I have downloaded that are .rar files , well When i uncompress them they are hardly any bigger than the compressed form.
I have tried using best instead of fastest setting but it still doesnt save much space often, makes you wonder if you should even bother?!

General Software Discussion / looking for program to convert wav or mp3 to .omg (sony Atrac3)

Its strange but there doesnt seem to be a good program to convert wav or mp3 to .omg (sony Atrac3) and then put it on a netmd external device (minidisk player).    I have looked in several forums and the advice was that The sony "Sonic Stage" program was rubbish and Beat jam not much better but there doesnt seem to be a less bloated simpler alternative.  am I wrong? I did read that some people have had success with using nero to convert and simple burner to put it on the player but simple burner wont install on my machine.

At the moment I am using FlickR, just because I heard about them 1st, but anyone had better experience of other sites where you upload your holiday snaps so that family and friends can easily view them.  Should be free and easy to use.

I would like to find a free utility that would allow me to spell check a block of text. I know when you are working withing some software like Word, this is available but when i am in my favourite diary program it doesnt have a spell checker built in also some email programs dont.

Hopefully reasonably easy to use too.
I mean if you dont want to go to a web site but have the info on hand on your desktop with a program.
I dont like the idea of a Widget like a google widget on my desktop running all the time as it uses up memory.

Finished Programs / DONE: automated mp3 rip from video clip

I posted this in the wrong section earlier (finished section!)

Here is a challenge.
Drag a video clip onto an icon on your desktop
a program is automatically activated and rips the sound from the video and saves the .mp3 on the desktop
Dont really mind what the program is (but free!) media coder, mencoder/mplayer,whatever

I am really asking this for my sister who is computer phobic. If I told her to just startup this certain program and then use these settings and then....   she would have a panic attack.
