I have a lot of PDF files called file001/002….. (100’s of files), all 1 page documents.

Is it possible for some code that would open selected files, extract the description from the next line after the word Remittance and save the file with that name? Please note that there is a date format dd/mm/yyyy on the same line which is not required as part of the file name.

(e.g. file001/002 opened, the descriptions extracted would be ‘This is the file name for file 001’ and ‘The file name for file 002’,

Therefore file named file001 to be renamed This is the file name for file 001, file named file 002 should be renamed The file name for file 002.

If the files cannot be renamed but can be saved as with the required file name, than this would suffice as well. I am quite happy to delete the files manually.

Any assistance offered would be appreciated.

I have many programs installed on my C drive, which unfortunately is getting rather full.

I have a secondary hard drive that is quite large, and I was considering moving programs from C to F.

However, the problem I am faced with is two folds: -

Firstly, I have misplaced the serial number for a lot of the S/W and therefore uninstalling and re-installing to the new drive is not an option;

Secondly, my moving programs from C to F will cause all the Registry and Desktop icons to fail as the programs have been physically moved.

Is there a program which will physical move programs from one drive to another, update the registry and lastly change the shortcut/desktop shortcuts to point to the new place on the new drive?

Your assistance would be most welcome.

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Multi program update scheduler
« on: February 08, 2006, 08:52 AM »
I have various Anti Virus programs and Spyware programs that once I logon, and dial up, I will systematically go and check whether there are any updates for them. If so, they are allowed, if not, then do the next program.

Wouldn’t it be nice if somehow a program would allow these programs or indeed user specified programs to be put in a list and then systematically check for updates?

I am assuming that some form of Key Stoke logger would be required to simulate key depression to allow the next action of the update to continue!!

Anyone know of a program or is it possible to do this?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
