I've taken some time (and a work project that could nicely use it :tellme:) and added the condition<n> feature per button, and a few other goodies like multiple commands and a longer tooltip. So:

A new release is available: WinButtons 3.0

Get the download and all info from the original release thread

Requests, complaints, errormessages and other question can be posted in this thread. It's all welcome!

I have bought refilled color and black cartridges for my Canon printer, but I've been so unsatisfied with them, that I never bought them again.
My complaints had to do with poor printing quality, shorter then expected lifespan and even non-working cartridges (though for someone other's HP printer, not mine), and on the subjective side with bad smells (I'm quite picky about 'chemical' smells :o) of the fresh output pages and really brownish-grey 'black' printed areas. And this was from one of the major 3rd party suppliers in W-Europe!
I've now returned to the original (expensive) cartridges, as my low printing volume doesn't justify the purchase of a color laser printer (yet), and I really hate 'funny' smells in my home work-area.

3078
Or look for another kit. Sigh...

After the second try, assuming I did everything wrong the first time, that would have been try/step 3 >:(

As of about 16 hours the performance is a lot better now.

Refreshing the forum frontpage now is only severely slowed down while waiting for 'static.addtoany.com', but got that solved by adding
127.0.0.1 static.addtoany.com
to my hosts file :D

I've heard from some Java developers that they like IntelliJ best out of all the Java IDEs.
IDE's are as religious a subject as 'the proper programming language' to a lot of developers, so I won't (re)start that discussion here :P

3082
The Google officially endorsed Android Java development platform is Eclipse with the Google Android (ADT) plug-in. :tellme:

Decrypting a KPT file with an incorrect password still produces a "password-accepted" message box and a resulting file (though it's unusable).
If it gave  a messagebox that the password is not accepted, that could be a means to hack your way into the vault...

3084
Hey, that looks great :Thmbsup:

Where do you grab these texts from?

Or the more generic String.Format() (that uses different format strings) could be used instead of DecimalFormat(), but that's a minor detail.

Something like:
public static void main(String[] args) {
    char initial = 'T';
    int age = 25;
    double income = 50000.00;
    display(age, income, initial);
}

Plain and quite simple, IMHO.

Depends on the Pdf creator you're using, I guess, but here's the wiki page on the subject: http://en.wikipedia....able_Document_Format

3089
A relative advanced PDF file (that my genuine pdf editors had no problem with) made PagePlus X5 give these messages:

Isn't the first message the most informative? There it says that it doesn't support all those advanced new pdf features after Pdf1.3 :o

With the kind help of cranioscopical I finally found what was giving the transparency issues with WinButtons. After a test-release earlier today, I can now present the official WinButtons 2.6.2.3 release.

Get the updated download from the original release-post

Post any bugreports, feature requests, questions (or praise :)) in this thread

Sneak peek for the next version...: Conditional display for all buttons 8) and after that I'll eventually have to start the WB-Editor-GUI :-[

3091
Bingo!
-cranioscopical (April 15, 2011, 11:08 AM)

Pfew! :beerchug: Glad we got that sorted. On both my daily-use Win7 x64 boxes it all ran fine, so I was caught a bit by surprise. I'll release formally in a bit, and I have a hopefully useful improvement in the works after that... (but that'll probably take until next week)

3092
Ok, I finally got a hold of some testing environments (XP, Server 2003, Win7 on 125%, all on VMWare) and lo and behold: I can reproduce the same 'bleed through' issues you have! :'(

So I re-researched the transparency style-settings of the window, and expect to have it fixed (works OK for me now on all my available environments).

The test-version of WinButtons 2.6.2.2-pre is attached to this message, later today (when I return home) I'll upload to the dcmembers server, and update the release-message.

3093
Finally i just recommend this class highly to all who search a free, easy to use, customizable captcha class with a kind and responsive author for their PHP projects.

Reading this very fine mini-review (IMHO), though I do nothing in php at the moment, it's surely one I'm going to remember! :Thmbsup:

3094
You did try the althide=1 option I presume? If yes, then it's 99.9% chance of a videocard driver issue, IMHO.

Oh, and Always on Top is enabled by default, maybe it helps to turn that off (ontop=0)

Btw, I'm also interested to hear what video card you have in your system (don't recall if you mentioned that before) (maybe I should avoid that brand/model ;D)

General Software Discussion / Re: What Android Apps Do You Use?
« on: April 14, 2011, 04:42 PM »
That's a nice list you compiled for us!

I'd like to try most of the calendar and contact ones, but I've already installed so many apps I don't want to lose, that the memory is almost filled :D

Instead of Tasker you mentioned, I'm using the free Timerific, and that's just fine for me as I'm on nearly the same weekly schedule most of the time, and that doesn't support location-based switching (gps/wifi), like Locale does but that is even more expensive then Tasker :o (but has a lot of extensions/plug-ins).

AFAIK, GPS in enabled state hardly uses any power, and is turned on automatically by apps that want to use it, so you probably don't need a scheduler/tasker for that.

3096
After adding a possible compatibility fix, adding Tooltips to all buttons and some minor fixes, WinButtons 2.6.2.1 is released!

Coding Snacks / Re: Changing a folder's name text colour
« on: April 14, 2011, 02:06 PM »
The trouble is not getting the settings into the registry, the trouble is that there are no (known) registry settings that can be tweaked to change the colors of the filenames displayed, based on some selection criteria.

Some alternatives for Windows Explorer can do that for you. The shareware Xplorer2 can do it using the Customize/Color coding menu, and it supports all kinds of filters to select the files to be shown in a specific color.

3098
Have a look at Auspex, it has a ticket system (RedMine), but only about half of the issues are logged, and the other half is reported in a forumthread or discovered by the developer, and often never put into RedMine :-[

Isn't that just what mouser and stoic are trying to say?

Small team: Small tools
Big team: Big tools
(There probably are a few more flavors :))

Could an electronic KVM switch be of any use?
The computer keeps running, unless someone presses the power button (which is unavoidable :'(), the screen stays empty, even when the mouse/keyboard are activated (moved/pressed), until you switch to the correct 'port' (A/B would be enough, AFAICS), and with a little luck that can be protected by a key-operated switch (did no research on that).

Turning off all leds could be impossible without tinkering with the BIOS, unless you have connections with mainboard manufacturers :P
The sound of the harddrives & fans, probably depending on the load of the system, would still reveal it's not off, though...
And then someone pulls the power-plug from the back of the powersupply :-\

Any chance this is related to a video driver, perhaps?, as this is rather basic AutoIt3 script, nothing fancy on the UI side. Lets first wait and see if the althide option makes a difference.

Hitting 'Submenu 4' launches another instance and I have to resort to killing off both of them.
-cranioscopical (April 13, 2011, 09:03 AM)
Usually (sub-)instances of WinButtons can be closed by pressing <Esc>... (unless that's disabled by setting exitonesc=0) or <Alt-F4> (that can't be disabled)
