What got me angry was that I felt there was some amount of bullying going on. But just because I perceived something to be a certain way, doesn't mean that's how it actually was. While I did initially attribute a hint of malice in what occurred here, I think it is much more likely that everyone thought they were just having some good-natured fun. I said it myself that I expect better of the long-time members of this forum. That should have been my first clue that I know you all to be better than that, so I should have re-examined my perception of your intentions.
I don't fault wraith808 for exercising his moderating privileges to the best of his ability. I'm glad he's here to help out the site.
I apologize for my public outburst. I'm grateful and humbled that all of you have responded respectfully and thoughtfully. And I'm more than a little ashamed/embarrassed that I didn't "practice what I preached" in my since-moderated post in which I was trying to convey ideas such as "you'll catch more flies with honey" and "let's all be kind and compassionate toward each other." I hope you'll forgive me.
