win10 auto upgrade - confusing mesg
« on: August 16, 2015, 11:42 AM »
The "Get Windows 10" shows "still downloading",
"Windows update" shows "Start installing Win 10" !!

What should I do ? Wait till "Get Windows 10" enables "Upgrade" option ?

I am afraid to click "Get started" in "Windows update"  :(

Anybody faced this situation ?

MerleOne, if you have auto update on and depending on your net connection, windows will download all related updates and then show the icon. I got mine nearly 4 weeks after nearly everybody here. I was reading and commenting on Win10 without the icon. My net connection is very bad and I understand it was due to that.

Now I am a happy user of Win10 without Cortana  ;) She will come when MS allows her in India.

I'd say go for it. But if you have a bad connection, make sure you deselect the 'check for updates' option during the install ... or it will take 3 forevers to finally fail.
