Moving notes from Keynote to Evernote
« on: December 06, 2013, 02:30 PM »
I've been using Keynote (http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote.html) for over a decade but I am growing quite fond of Evernote.

I've collected a lot of stuff in Keynote over the years and have note been able to figure out a way to transfer my notes into Evernote.  I have lots and lots of subfolders with little snippets so copy/paste would take a very long time.

Anyone know how to do something like this?

EDIT: I may have figured out a way.  Keynote allows export to individual files and Evernote allows folder imports.  So I'll have to play around with it.

Do you mean the original desktop version of Evernote, or the current cloud or at least primarily cloud application?  If the latter, you may like to know that RightNote has Evernote cloud-type support, and there's a DC thread by tranglos saying that RightNote is what Keynote 2 should have been.  But, the Evernote feature is only available in the Pro version of RightNote, which is $59.95 for a new license.

It's mentioned in numerous DC threads.  Here are two, the first being tranglos' own:

The solution was easy.

Evernote lets you set up a folder to monitor which will import anything you put there.

Keynote allowed me to export all my notes as rtf files into that folder.

Slick solution, vbmark.

I had no idea I had an Uncle Bob.  I probably ought to send him a Christmas card, eh?   :P

At a bit of a broader level, this sounds like all your notes ended up exported "flat" - without structure. Or did the "monitored folder" also monitor all subfolders and retain structure?

I am a fairly interested participant in the Battle of the Notes. My eventual solution was MyInfo. Basically, I don't get too fancy with the data proper inside the notes - structure and export make or break it for me. (If I ever needed to, import is in the same theme.)
