:o I was looking to grab a couple (smaller) Seagate Barracuda drives over the summer to bring my old PC back to life, but it looks like I'll keep the PC 100% WD (and offline, but offline is better than bricked) - I'm on a Seagate drive now and love it (not affected), but I don't want to risk anything.

Just flashed both drives successfully. I feel like one of those ridiculously lucky guys in a WWII movie who made it past the enemy despite overwhelming odds. Thank you for this FREE! game of Russian Roulette, Seagate!
