Recommendations on Alternative E-Bay/Auction & Selling Sites
« on: November 17, 2008, 09:17 PM »
Would like this forum's opinion and experiences on any E-Bay Alternative sites.

I have heard of a new site called Wigix.com but haven't played with it yet.  Like myself (who just want to sell a few things) there are hundreds of people who are fleeing E-Bay but I haven't read that a particular site has come out on top or even near to narrowing down to 2 or 3.

PS  New here but love the site so far!  Thanks!

Here's a comparison chart of several such sites:

TopTenREVIEWS 2008 Online Auction Sites Product Comparisons

Not that I have *any* sort of trust in TopTenREVIEWS' objectivity, but at least their feature comparison charts seem to be not too biased.

BTW, I haven't tried any of those sites, so I can't comment on them.
I'll have what she's having

:) I have found this to be a great alternative to ebay with all its fees. www.oztion.com.au/?r=44873    :P

  Free to list. Free images. Auto relist. Auto extend time of auction if bid in last minute. etc etc.

 8) Check it out at www.oztion.com.au/?r=44873    :-*

I have used iOffer.com a number of times without problems.

If you want to buy and sell arts and crafts (that you produce yourself) www.etsy.com is nice - and you get a shop front. It is also a lot cheaper than eBay but you can still use PayPal for payments if you wish.

If you want to see an ETSY shop I have a friend who recently set up the following shop to sell watercolour and oil paintings and prints:

http://woodhousestudio.etsy.com

He hasn't sold anything yet so if anyone wants a nice Christmas present check out some of his prints of the Yorkshire Dales. (they are very nice quality).
