Looks like a straight forward xor from byte to byte - no salt, password or any other "security". No complex code and I see no higher protection. Bad to read, but not too hard to crack. The "real" scrypt is incredible much better. There´s a lot of space to improve your method - do this with an additional keyword that you procede the same way.

You really should post at least some relevant code fragments, otherwise noone will believe that you´re doing really a usable encryption. I also posted such an experimental (super-)encryption tool a few years ago and it was necessary to publish the source also.
The same problem came up with a game solving AI robot at a coding contest. Nobody believed that I was able to find the best solution within a few nanoseconds while the best were not able to break the milliseconds barrier and some others needed several seconds. They didn´t believe that this is technically possible until I released the sourcecode.

I´m waiting for this a very long time now: Over 10 years the technology of the Hyper CD is available, but not official for standard users. The first working prototype was shown 1999.

    Capacity: 1 PB (with possibility of extension up to 100 EB)   100 Exabyte = 100.000 Petabyte = 100.000.000 Terabyte = 100.000.000.000 Gigabyte!!!  ;)
    (that´s multiple times more than 64 bit processors can theoretically adress)
    Medium transfer rate: 300 Mbit/s (may be more) ... today it can be surely much faster
    Hard drive dimensions: 80 x 150 x 300 mm (with some optimizing it should be possible to shrink this a bit)
    Disk dimensions: 1.2 mm ø 120 mm
    Temperature resistance: up to 550°C (ok for my needs  :))
    High reliability
    Maximum usage period: 5,000 years - all over 100 years is enough in my opinion

With this you can save the complete computer & internet history up to the next 50 years without problems on one disc, but I think this is the reason why we won´t get this storage device during the next 50 years.

Meanwhile until it´s available I personally changed to HD storage this year - I´m still copying all my discs (self burned & originals) as mds files there.

One of the best programs I ever found:
I use for temporary new program testing, fast (re)install purposes and virus secure web surfing: http://svs4all.com (now it´s called SWV and works on 64bit and up to windows 8)
This is a virtual environment workspace creating new files or registry changes in a temporary folder you decide. Disabling the software layers hide all things the programs did from the system. Deleting those layers deletes everything a program did with your system. Your real system and registry still keeps clear and slim and only has those changes activated if you need them. If you save something to drive C: for example all is in reality saved in a folder on your drive D: if you like (only change the folder position in your registry). So your HD backups don´t save things you do not really need.

I never saw the old Ultima games and had no really big interest to do it in the past. This perhaps could change now. In my games collection there´s the deluxe edition of Ultima 9 Ascension (and 7+8), but I still haven´t really played it, yet - only testing an hour if it works. On my old machine at this time it was extreme heavy stuff and ran like a slideshow as Outcast at its time. I want to dive into it more intensive one time. Nowadays it should play as it was meant to do or even better (with a 3DFX Glide Wrapper of course).

I still use VLC, because it has some nice features like the realtime video transform & streaming, but a few months ago I found a new one.
More and more I now use SVP and the player MPC (as fodder posted). I so get a much higher quality of playback with additional risen video frequency.

Remebering the past always let thing look very nice and beautiful. That´s a human mechanism. This emulator reproduces all on an electronic based reproduction with such a detail no other emultor does at the moment.
You can change the settings to the level you like - also clean and perfect if you wish.

I remember starting my own C64 emulator 7 or 8 years ago with some kind of dynarec. Only the full CPU, memory and a simple VIC with Sprites were working. Perhaps I hang on again and bring it to the end in the future? A while ago I found a few of my first demoroutines I took to Amiga and later to PC with converters. This was really a memorable and moving moment looking at those pixels from the past and my beginning as a coder.

A friend of mine (a member of Farbrausch - perhaps you know them) made the most advanced and accurate but also rather unknown C64 emulator of them all. Perhaps you´d like to see how the C64 optics really were on old TVs - this is the best way on nowaday machines utilizing dynarec compilation techniques and full GPU usage (there are two versions of this emulator) even simulating your window reflections and disturbing electric behaviour of your old Monitor. If you´d also like to see how a 10000 fps C64 looks & feels with several Ghz speed - this one makes it possible. It´s still in development - not as dead as most other emulators!

I´m sad to tell you that a release will not be possible this year . I had much too less time because of my startup and also some technical problems and so the development didn´t went forward as I would wish. But the project is not dead and should be finished in 2012 if our world still exists :D (or perhaps to the next N.A.N.Y?).

DescriptionChecking Files on fresh burned DVDs or HDs is very time-consuming. All programs I know only do a perfect match check (bit for bit). In most cases a simplier check to see wether the most important files seem to be ok would be enough.
Crush Turbochecker should do this job faster than ever before (perhaps) with a variable way of security. Another reasonable improvement would be a combination with the creation of content-files for searching if there´s time enough.
