The problem seems to have vanished. I haven't experienced the last 5-6 times i used the updater. I don't know if it previously have been interfered by my NIS 2010 Security suite. But no problems thus far.

I have the same problem as thread starter. Only I'm running Win 7 Ultimate w/ Danish SP.
