Screenshot Captor / Text box text not showing up

This is probably a stupid question, but I tried to add a text box to an image and I got the text box, but the text would not show up.  It was like the text color was set to white (it was not, it was set to black).  I ended up having to open a previously saved image and copy a text box and paste it into the image I was trying to edit.  Any ideas anyone?
