I think i'll try and do it manually,thanks anyway.

As it happens i've discovered a media player which detects them automatically,no matter what they're named,so long as it's srt.
   It's called the Core media player.

I've heard of a program which auto matically puts the srt file into the movie file.
I don't know if this is the place,i'd be grateful for any assistance.  :)
