thanks for the clarification Armando

i think it would be clearer just to have the number of results reflects the number of results in the result list  :D isn't it logical ?  :P

At the same time, it's not necessarily a bad idea to be aware that there are duplicates of the files shown (through the #  in status bar) when the 2 options to NOT show them are selected. ANd if the status bar is more specific, it might be less confusing, of course.

This is very good, jpijper.  :Thmbsup:

Maybe you could edit your first post to include the latest version in it (so that people don't mistakenly install the older one)?

With all these little tools, farr is becoming the primary interface with which I interact with the different software on my computer!

I'll do it this afternoon during my coffee break.

Mouser, that's it. Thanks.  :up:
I'll disable the ""Check full path..." option for now... just to have fun with the non-contiguous searching. It's great BTW, really great. I'm not too bad as a typist, but... I tend to make small mistakes...

Nice work, mouser.

I still can't get the non-contiguous searching to work. I must be doing something stupid. But what?

I don't know why, but when I type ffox, firefox doesn't show.

The shortcut name for FireFox is "Mozilla Firefox.lnk"

What am I doing wrong? Or is there a conflicting option that I've selected?

AFAICT, the only option affecting non-contiguous searching/scoring is the "score non-contiguous matches" option.

Wow! Very cool Renegade.  :up: :up: :up:

I'll trial it when I'll have more time. I'm a jazz drummer (or... "was" -- haven't been very active in the last 8 years!), and am learning guitar right now. So... could be handy!

I haven't had any problems restoring bootable partitions to HDs of different sizes.
usually just backup/restore to another drive.

Same here.

Related to the subject of thi mega thread, there's super list of Outliners announced there

via the comments:-
PPLandry (dc member/author of SQLNotes) has put
this list in an online spreadsheet, with read/write access to all, as in this one where I’ve imported the original list:

http://www.editgrid....ry/List_of_Outliners

Anybody can add/edit the info, sort, etc
- (see attachment in previous post)

That's a great idea. Thanks for pointing it out, Tom!
And thanks for that work, Pierre!  :up:

I'm very satisfied with Online Armor. It's getting great reviews almost everywhere on security sites.
I've had only a few small and temporary freeze "problems", related to HIPS, during the initial firewall's learning process.

The free version is good, but the paid version is better even (e.g. : it allows you to save your configurations)

I don't mind the occasional pop ups. I believe this is absolutely normal for a security app. The pop ups appear only rarely anyways (now that it's been running for some months), and most of them when I install a new software.

I'm so satisfied that I bought a 2 year license.  :)

and to partly quote Carl  ;) :

Well, the number of results should be right when "remove duplicate links" and "remove missing items" are not checked. The status bar is always showing the true number of found files and doesn't take into account  the options of hiding duplicates etc.

Lashiec mentioned this "problem" a while ago. So yes, I guess it's confusing... You're not the only one!  :)

Hey, AbteriX, thanks a lot!

FYI, ReNamers RegEx engine supports (?#my comments)

Yes. (I'm still a beginner at regex, but I should've thought about that...   :-[ )
It works well! Of course, it's not as clean looking as a special comment section, but it's not that important.

And i found out "Free-Spacing Regular Expressions" is supported too
In free-spacing mode, whitespace between regular expression tokens is ignored.
Whitespace includes spaces, tabs and line breaks.
Note that only whitespace between tokens is ignored.
E.g. a b c is the same as abc in free-spacing mode,
http://www.regular-e...nfo/freespacing.html

Good to know!

For comments on saving presets...
you could add an PascalScript-RULE for your comments only. (without any script, just comment only

You have to comment-out this comments.
You can use either of these commenting styles:
{ comments }
// comments
(* comments *)

Good option too, I'll try it.

The way I actually  inserted comments in between groups of rules is simply using a regex rule and write my comments there (a long sentence/comment will never match with anything, so it can be used as a comment)

----------------------------
Just to update:
The experimental version of ReNamer is ready, where Filters settings can be saved and loaded with individual Presets.
Both of these have been implemented and they DO require some testing:
* Added ability to save Filter Settings together with a Preset;
* Added split panel in status bar to display current preset and modification sign;
Tell me how it goes, ok?

* Integrated dEXIF libraries to parse EXIF tags (works on problematic JPEG files);
----------------------------

Just wanted to say that I've started to use Renamer more than BRU and Flash Renamer. I really love the ability to saving different batches of rules. Very convenient -- and individual rules can be turned on/off. Haven't found a renamer that does it as well.  :up:

PS : One thing that could be useful would be a feature allowing to anotate some rules and batches to rapidly see what they do -- especially convenient when working with loooonnng regex. I might bring the suggestion directly to the developer.

Something is definitely going on...  :)
I still get three folders (2 with nothing valuable...) in your archive when I open it in various programs like 7-Zip, WinRar and WinZip.
I tried creating the archive myself and it's fine.
So here's one with the Readme file (created with 7-zip). Does it show only one folder ?

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR alias: Quick Outlook Task
« Last post by Armando on July 26, 2008, 12:52 AM »
What I did to make it work :

1- I only used the "Quick Outlook tasks" folder found in the archive -- not the 2 other folders (I'm not sure why they were included -- they should probably be removed).

2- I extracted (dragged and drop) this "Quick Outlook tasks" folder in :

%your program files folder%\FindAndRunRobot\AliasGroups\MyCustom\

So that it looks like (in my system):

C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\AliasGroups\MyCustom\QuickOutlookTask

3- Should one restart farr after that...? Farr crashed here... But when I restarted it, the alias worked as expected!  :up:

so

do my favorite task

created a task called.... my favorite task

Now, this thing doesn't seem to be open source, but it would have been nice if it was possible to add other info (comma or semicolon separated, maybe) like : task; priority; multiple categories; etc.

Very interesting software. Thanks for the info.
I did use Poser and Bryce (not mine!) a few years ago to help modeling a theatre space. From what I can tell, the interface looks similar. But this is just a superficial constatation.

And there's a review on Appaholic.

Most probably same problem mentioned here. Did you try changing your capitalized umlauts to small ones? In the mean time, that's what I did for all my É À È etc.

What desktop search app best supports 'smart folders'. The WDS 4.0 saved searches feature is useless because

By "supporting" smart folders, do you mean that the desktop search app should allow you to create some? If that's the case, X1 is probably the one of the best equipped app for that : you can name and organize hierarchically your different searches, in a tree. X1 searches pretty fast but the interface is sometimes a bit sluggish. I use it everyday, even with its shortcomings.

I don't now if others lie DTSearch will do "Smart folders"... Maybe?
